Er, that was an xpost too. I thought it was that it was just the iplayer/live stuff had the mains power thing but don't take my word for it!

Fairenuff · 14/09/2017 18:49

Ok thanks, will try to check it out.

Only if your laptop is plugged into the mains whilst you are watching?

HSMMaCM · 14/09/2017 19:12

I'm fairly confident, maybe, I think that DD can watch sky go unplugged without a licence?

Now I'm wondering if she needs a rug Grin

This is what it says.

Morvah, thanks ! I've just got one at Costco for 13 quid. Just done another hundred quid in at IKEA. That included a shopping trolley for me , if I got and see him on the train, no doubt I'll be carting stuff back and forth ! I've even had to buy a lamp shade, when we went to check out the room it was a bare bulb!

And a v shaped pillow from Aldi , as his room doesn't have an easy chair at the moment.

I'm exhausted, emotional and completely skint ! DH completely oblivious to all of the arrangements, anyone else's DH the same?

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:01

Hi all. I am a bit late to the party but I am sat here surrounded by the entire contents of Dunelm feeling a bit weird about it all.

DS1 has gone out into town for the final time before him and his mates get dispersed all around the UK this weekend.

Gulp.

Horsemad · 14/09/2017 22:12

Hi Sparklingbrook, it IS a weird feeling; part excited for them and part sad that they're moving on.

Where is your DS going?

HSMMaCM · 14/09/2017 22:12

DH knows some of what's happening, but would be the first to admit he's not following it all.

Entire contents of Dunelm, Ikea and Sainsburys here.

TheMightyMing · 14/09/2017 22:15

Aw Sparkling I know how you feel! I took the week off to spend time with my son but he's been jazzing off all over doing things with his mates and girlfriend. I've been a ratty emotional mess and I'm dreading Sunday! My husband thinks I've gone over the top with my prep but I'm a person who needs to dot the t's! .
Wishing I'd had another few kids, my nest is going to feel very empty next week. 😢

TheMightyMing · 14/09/2017 22:15

Ikea had sold out of plastic colanders!

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:17

He's off to Gloucestershire Horse. So not a million miles away, but still feels very very odd.

He bought a set of screwdrivers today, and a torch Confused Oh and one of those lint rollers.

I have been reading the 'before you arrive' leaflets cover to cover and helping him sort out gadget insurance which was painful.

He has only just applied for his NUS card which will be delivered to campus on 26/9. Hmm

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:20

Mighty I was hoping for a family meal tomorrow night, but no he has booked to go out for a meal with some of his mates from football.

DH is being his usual mellow self and will get the suitcases down from the loft 'at some point'.

Horsemad · 14/09/2017 22:23

He's going to a nice part of the UK Sparkling, bet he'll have a ball Smile

ono40 · 14/09/2017 22:24

Congratulations Oldie, lovely news.

My DH has been in Chicago all week and will be in Europe next week so it has all passed him by. I'm expecting him to ask me what the big heap of stuff in the hallway is! I've been back and forth to Dunelm so many times that the staff know my name now

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:31

I hope so Horse, where's your's off to?

Horsemad · 14/09/2017 22:31

Newcastle - his halls are near the footy ground!

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:34

Yay!-you can buy him a season ticket. Grin

Horsemad · 14/09/2017 22:40

Haha, and guess what? They play Liverpool on Oct 1st Wink

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 22:44

Even better. Grin

DS1 has already found a Liverpool fan living in his halls on the FB chat group they have going, so he must be ok. Wink

ErrolTheDragon · 14/09/2017 22:45

DD has booked me tomorrow to go to the out of town shopping centre for another go at Wilkos and to see what Aldi has to offer - it will be her nearest shop and she wants to get a selection of their yogurts and cereal bar type things to try out. She's a bit fussy especially about what she'll eat first thing. (I was worse at her age - surviving on late 70s hall catering cured that!)

Horsemad · 14/09/2017 22:52

My DS is a very fussy eater Errol, no idea how he'll get on. Probably live on cereal bars I think.

user327854831 · 14/09/2017 23:01

Mine has done the same Sparkling, plus we are also heading for Gloucestershire!

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2017 23:09

DS has a timed slot for Saturday between 2 and 4pm user how about you?
