Sorry about the Grandparent, he will be OK, as kids cope.

If anyone has not sent their child off yet, don't forget to pack some Paracetamol, and plasters... DD was so pleased to find them in her washing set...

We went food shopping the night before and got loads of dried pasta and sauce mixes, as well as the 8 packs of mini cereals. they have shops near by so she just got milk, on cheap weeks...

Oh and double duvet, as it can get cold in the rooms at night...

Count down is 5 days till year 2.. starts.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 14:38

Thanks mummmy

Ive just bought him a single duvet unfortunately but i could put that on his bed at home and get him a double

Might see what he thinks after a month or so

mummmy2017 · 09/09/2017 14:58

They had a push switch on the wall, 20 mins of heat, then push again.
DD has a single but after a week chucked it into the Cupboard as so cold at night, she was high up, just thought better to buy the double so child can cocoon themselves....

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 15:07

No i think its a good idea mummmy

This will be his first duvet as last winter was the first one he ever felt cold in

Very exciting Grin

mummmy2017 · 09/09/2017 15:15

Wait till you get the "I love you mummy" calls at about day 4, it was so funny, as my DD almost never drinks, and they were walking back from a night out and the group decided to all call home at 12 midnight.
Tell him NOT to pay out for the full freshers week pass, seems it a massive waste of money, as they all share tickets around, and we had 3 guys who were OCD about washing up and the kitchen, and would wake someone up at night to come and do there blooming washing up....
If he hates his dorm tell him to find friends with a good one and as soon as they have a space ask to move in, loads did that.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 15:22

Oh excellent thanks mummmy

I will look forward to the calls...though i dont like being woken up it Grin

Horsemad · 09/09/2017 16:27

My DS1 rang me at 3am one morning to ask if I was up watching the Super Moon Shock Grin

I was as well! Although he wouldn't have known I'd been thinking of getting up to watch.

bigTillyMint · 09/09/2017 16:47

DD knows better than to call after 10pm Grin - she generally texts that kind of thing!

That's a good reminder mummy about pasta sauces - must get her some more. DD is taking her double duvet (must buy another asap or there won't be one when she comes home!) as she has a small double in her room (reason for choosing halls?!) same as at home.

Rufus, sorry you have that news to share Flowers

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 16:53

Right well she died an hour ago

so bit of a moot point now

So thank you all for your help Thanks

TheMightyMing · 09/09/2017 16:57

Sorry Rufus x

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 17:04

Thanks ming

Right i need to cheer up...ish

So ds1 still throws himself across the hall landing like a fairy elephant cos he thinks something is going to get him on the way from the bathroom to his bedroom

How chuffed do we think his flat mates are going to be with that thunderous noise at 1 in the morning

Horsemad · 09/09/2017 17:19

Flowers Rufus, sorry for your loss.

mummmy2017 · 09/09/2017 17:20

Sorry about your parent's death... Chocolate and win helps, and a good cry...

Kids.....
Does you DS have his own bathroom. DD paid extra for it, but she says being able to run too the loo at 4 in the morning is worth it...
Pack him some silly things in places he won't look, jacket pockets and sides of suit cases, it's fun to tell him when your on the phone, go look inside your wellies, and he finds a large family bar of Galaxy...

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 09/09/2017 17:22
