Afternoon all.

Checking in with this weeks weight - 9stone 13pounds - which is a bloody miracle given what I ate yesterday!!

Cream cheese filled chicken breast with cheesy mash, and for desert, chocolate ice-cream. Feeling very bad today but hit was a treat due to sister and brother in law coming over.

Are you all DIYing??

Our house is c1850 so like Crispy, needs creams and softer colours for the light.

About to re-do the lot as we havn't touched it in 18 months due to DS......

DeFluffy · 25/05/2010 12:38

actually double are you my friend on fb or is that dib?? i get everyone mixed up

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/05/2010 12:39

I don't think the photos show if you namechange, but as I only worked out how to add pictures a couple of weeks ago, I'm probably not the one to ask.

My friend is running late, I'm bloody starving!

Fluffy - if any of your blood relatives have a darker skin tone, that can be passed on to your DCs.

My sister-in-law has very olive skin but DH and his brother are whiter than white.

PIL are both pale.......but thier parents, MIL mother had olive toned skin.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/05/2010 12:43

DF - she does have a mediterranean look about her, but so does your DP on the pics to me.

Gorgeous DC btw

Lizzylou · 25/05/2010 12:43

Oh FGS, people are so rude, Defluff.
You and DP both have dark hair and eyes from what I can see, so has Mole. Babie's skin colour changes anyway but people with dark hair/eyes tend usually to have an olivey skin.
Fwiw, SIL is married to a man of Indian heritage, she is bottle blonde and qite fair. Her DS1 was very pale with fair hair and skin when born, it took a good few months for him to get a caramelly type skintone and huuge dark brown eyes and hair. You would never now it was the same baby. Her DS2 is still fair, he was born in mid April.

Tell them to stuff it, there could be some darker skin genes coming through from way back on either side of your/DP's background.
I thnk Mole looks the spit of you, gawjus

DeFluffy · 25/05/2010 12:44

Scrap that, we are friends. you're from over the water. i will keep everyone straight one day

hellsbelles · 25/05/2010 12:47

just rushing in quickly as at work. Fluff - DP looks as though he has quite olive skin which is what DD 2 has? If I saw you all together that is what I would think.

My mum used to get really upset as people always thought I was adopted. My eyes had an asian look to them and I am olive skinned (like my dad) and she isn't. Also my brother and his wife have had pale skinned a red headed child - she is blond, he is very dark - the little fellow looks nothing like either of them.

lucky DD getting such a beautiful skin tone...

hellsbelles · 25/05/2010 12:48

x-posts with just about everyone (and looks like we all agree!)

Thank you everyone, will remove photos so as to remain anonymous while slagging off SIL people

DD2 is so fat and scrumptious she's lovely. DD1 is just sooo cute. I'm having a 'loving my children madly' moment, probably because one is asleep and the other at school

My friend has similar problem, her dds are very fair as are her and her husband, but her dd2 has the biggest 'afro' hair you have ever seen. She tells me they get so many comments when out, and now I'm starting to see why its annoying, because its implying well, that you've cheated!!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 25/05/2010 12:50

DD looks nothing like me or DH, no idea where she gets her looks from.

Lizzylou · 25/05/2010 12:51

Yes, my Mom is one of 3 and her elder sisters have olive skin, very straight dark hair and brown eyes, like my Grandad. As a child Mom had v blonde ringlets, big blue eyes and fair skin. My Nan had fairish hair and green eyes. My Aunts used to tell my Mom she was adopted.

Lizzylou · 25/05/2010 12:54

Defluff if they comment again, say "Oh it's probably just the St Tropez fake tan" and

Hey Mouseface, so is that a loss? Well done

Will have to do some mor work now...

DeFluffy · 25/05/2010 13:05

actually, i think you just get parnoid after so many comments, each individual person is just trying to make conversation and say something about your new baby. To them they mean no harm, its just once the 1000th person has said it you start thinking they're implying things they're probably not

Apart from the one who asked re the suntan, I mean come on

Think i;m also way too sensitive as dd1 so white white and i don't want her to feel odd one out. I've got too much time on my hands

Weighing in - 13 stone, and I've been really good, bah

DeFluffy · 25/05/2010 13:07

x posted with everyone

SAF - re the stairs, love it

Mouse - 9' 13? I hate you.

YanknCock · 25/05/2010 13:10

DI, ooooooooooh, a date! Yay!

Crispy, well at least you're getting the smear over with early in the day.

Lizzy on a Monday??? Whatever is the world coming to.....

Alice, tis is exactly the kind of bitchy thought I'd have too....I try not to, but they just pop in there don't they? Everyone is flawed somehow....

Bitter, little and often really is the ideal way. Can you have a mid-morning snack with some protein in it to bridge between breakfast and lunch? I used to be exactly the same re: breakfast. The big meals stretch your stomach I think, really good if you can get used to being satisfied with smaller amounts. I've actually found I do better eating more of my calories early on in the day and having a light dinner!

Fluff, PMSL @ Golden Lay and 'cunter' How annoying with all the 'skin tone' questions. Did you see that other thread where a poor lady was assumed to be her kid's nanny because they had different skin tone? People really ought to think before they speak--or be walloped across the head after! To me it looks as though she's got a similar skin tone to your DP. She's beautiful!

Not at work again. Spent most of night awake and coughing out lungs, think I finally fell asleep at 4:30ish, then up to feed DS around 7. DH got him ready for nursery and took him over, then called in to work for me at 10:30 (oops, bit late there) so I could keep sleeping. Boss badgering him to let her know if I will be in tomorrow as I'm supposed to go somewhere.

Psych appt in 1.5 hours, hoping I am discharged now. I don't really need them anymore, better the service is available for someone who does! Just give me the nice little pills and we will all be fine, thanks.....

Defluff - i agree that people are just saying something nice, but unfortunately you hear it a lot so has a different meaning. The suntan one though just tell her you must have got the bottles of johnsons muddled

Mouseface · 25/05/2010 13:28

SAF, Defluffy and Lizzy - yes it's a loss of a pound.

Another shocker is the fact it's period time and I'm usually a good 4/5lbs heavier (what is AF by the way? I use it but have no idea what it means ) so I'm a bit as to why/how I've lost it???
