Total....um, cos this is a healthy eating thread and I'm trying to eat healthily and lose weight!

Bella - yes, will do that. Ham and cous cous sounds yummy anyway

Lizzylou · 23/05/2010 20:53

MrsW, to be completely honest, for me, that is a very carb heavy day.
I'd do what Bella said.

Cannot believe it is MOnday and spinning class tomorrow, it's all going so quickly my life.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 23/05/2010 20:55

I would always do what Bella says, Lizzy - she's far too scary not to!

Lizzylou · 23/05/2010 20:57

I'm off to bed, am knackered, have wanted to go back to bed since 11am though!

bellavita · 23/05/2010 21:00

Night Lizzy x

Alicetheinvisible · 23/05/2010 21:33

Evening

Just drinking a giant banana and ice cream milkshake Lots of er......calcium, and erm, good stuff from bananas Very yummy though.

MrsW - I agree with Bella and Lizzy, quite a lot of carbs. Could you cut down on the carbs and perhaps allow yourself a snack of fruit between meals to help keep blood sugar stable?

Some lovely friends are going to pick DD up tomorrow morning and take her to a playgroup/church toddler group for the morning while i stay at home and rest. It is really nice, but i miss DD when she is not here

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/05/2010 21:52

I am back. I am alive (just). I am suffering from serious house envy but they are so kind and when they heard about our cancelled holiday are putting us up for 4 nights in June so we do get away from phone etc. Highlight of the weekend was definitely DS paddling in their stream butt naked chasing ducks.

bellavita · 23/05/2010 21:59

Ooh I love a good milkshake Alice

You need to enjoy the "you" time. Get your feet up and watch a good film! DD will be well away with her little pals at playgroup.

Fanny how lovely of your friends. I have a vision of a lovely baby squidgy bottom in that stream!

Mittz · 23/05/2010 22:01

So tired Five... I managed to interpret DS as 'DH' in my mind and wondered why he was paddling in a stream naked....

I need sleep I think.

Glad to see you sounding cheery... xx you deserve it.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/05/2010 22:01

Oh he has a georgeous squidgy bottom, we were also treated to lunch at Calcott Manor, despite huge trepidations DC's were very well behaved and the food was amazing.

wastingaway · 23/05/2010 22:07

Evening!

Oh yes lovely friends Alice. Steady as she goes now.

Poor Vinny, what a wanker! And after you desecrated DS1s razor too!

BoF that's some serious drugs, hope you see some results soon. Hangovers do waste a lot of time, so hope you can see that as a plus side of the medication rather than a downside.

RE: unhelpful things relatives say, Dad always made us believe we could achieve great things, but that the things we wanted to do weren't great iyswim.
Great way to feel unfulfilled.

Leptons, I need to learn how to let DS be a little bit more feral. I shit bricks when he starts climbing up anything.

Lizzy, sounds like they've been having a great time.

MrsW, good luck! We're always here.

I miss Granny Murray. It's so annoying. It's an itch.

It's so fucking hot.

I'm having a drop of gin with some lovely raspberry juice from Co-op, very refreshing.

bellavita · 23/05/2010 22:08

Yes, well a well deserved treat Fanny

TotalChaos · 23/05/2010 22:08

MrsW - there's a difference between bag of Walkers and a Mars bar snack, and ryvita and handful of grapes as a snack - for me healthy (ish) snacks are a big part of what's making my weight loss work for me - but of course we all have different ways of weight management, seeing as you weigh several stone less than me, it could be argued that you are rather more on topic of things than me

five glad you had a nice time away, you deserve it

wastingaway · 23/05/2010 22:13

Fanny, sounds like a fab trip. at naked toddlers and ducks. Awwww!

DS was lovely all day, mainly because his cousin wasn't there I think. 2 year olds eh? V. cute when they're not starting WW3.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 23/05/2010 22:15

hehe Total. Trouble is, if I let myself snack, then I overdo it. Thin end of the wedge thing. If I have one grape, I'll have a whole bunch and that does have calories in it however much I wish it didn't!

Carbs - ok, ladies, I get hungry between meals without carbs, so snack and eat over my calories. Are carbs ok if I'm doing plenty of exercise? Or a no-no whatever I do?

I seem to remember that those kind of meal plans were ok according to FF last year - I just can't be arsed to faff around with FF again right now.

bellavita · 23/05/2010 22:21

I think a small amount of carbs is ok MrsW - like the ham with cous cous or in a bread roll, but not both together.

wastingaway · 23/05/2010 22:27

Well according to that NoS guy, stats show that all the extra calories we're eating these days come from snacks.

Fleecy · 23/05/2010 22:28

Evening everyone! Have been to the beach today - was lovely. Gt. Yarmouth so not the classiest resort in the world but lots of fairground rides for the DC (and me!) and gorgeous big sandy beach. I did have chips and a doughnut for lunch though so that's my pound put right back on Oh well!

Lizzy - clever boys with the water slide. Sounds like fun! Our garden is swimming in spillage from the sand and water table which was out all day yesterday and again late this afternoon.

I can't go without snacks either - even if I have larger meals. But having small meals interspersed with small snacks seems to work for me. Small bowl of porridge with fruit for breakfast, 6 brazil nuts for snack, 2 oat or rice cakes with tomatoes and cucumber for lunch, peanuts or an apple or something mid-afternoon, small portion of whatever everyone's having for dinner, banana and yogurt in the evening. Every weekday! Boring but it works for me!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/05/2010 22:28

Carbs are OK, you have good and bad, so stick with wholemeal bread, pasta etc, unrefined IYKWIM.

anyway, how is everyone. I know that Shiney is cooking for her boyfriend for a week, Alice should be tied to the sofa, anything else happened?

DeFluffy · 23/05/2010 22:38

BITTER - You crack me up

Total - families are pants

bellavita · 23/05/2010 22:39

DH and I went out on another date last night Fanny. I was driving (he drove last time) and he was quaffing double G&T's like they were going out of fashion. Hence a very rowdy MrBella on the way home.

VinegarTits · 23/05/2010 22:41

arghhhhh

when is a reasonably late enough time to go around and tell my neighbours to turn the fucking music down? some of us have to get up for work in the morning, i dont want to be listening to 'when i need love' cheesing 70's shit, at full volume, while im lying in bed

(ive just posted this on bofs child labour thread by mistake )

VinegarTits · 23/05/2010 22:44

now they are playing 'im in the mood for dancing'

can i call the police?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/05/2010 22:46

But how was MrB when he got home

BitOfFunInTheQuattro · 23/05/2010 22:47

On those grounds alone, definitely, Vinny
