Evening all.

Had a lovely day in sunny Lincolnshire, FIL lives in the middle of nowhere so we all sat outside while the dc ran around with about half a dozen various different dogs. Bliss!

I think DD has burnt a little, even though we kept her in the shade as much as possible and slathered her in factor 50 every half an hour. It's hard to tell, she could be looking a little red in the face because she is still so warm.

Vinny, sorry your date was hell but you did make me the way you recounted it.

DF and Bof - sorry for any offence caused by referring to the evil grandmother - was meant to be a lighthearted comment

Saf / Norma - DS has never been invited to a party so I don't know what the etiquette is around here.

Alice - take it easy.

Yank - I'm so sorry you are still living in the house of communicable diseases, but think you are wise not to take any time off.

Leptons - nice to see you

Mrs W - Sounds like you are being very sensible. I need to exercise more, but it's so boring. I will stick to shredding until now.

Sorry if I have missed anyone out, hope you are all ok.

NormaSknockers · 23/05/2010 19:08

I wouldn't say it was normal Fluffy but then my mother did once say to my grandad in front of me 'well Norma's very overweight' she was talking about how she'd raised me & the first 3 of my siblings (she never allowed cakes, biscuits, treats etc of any kind what-so-ever so when we all left home/got older we all went mad on them) thing is I was 7 months pregnant at the time

It's awful when parents, or any family member come to that, say things like that as they are supposed to be the people that love you unconditionally. And besides merigine is nothing but egg whites & air and sugar so they're practically good for you

Good evening ladies

I have just had a lovely barbecue. Two small helpings each of home made rice salad and roasted vegetable cous cous, two sausages in rolls, a small piece of bacon and two small pieces of cake.

Do you think I did ok? I only had cereal and a ham sandwich otherwise today.

Fingers crossed!

Mittz - delighted to see you found a namechange In fact, I think I like Mittz better than Mitts, which always makes me think of boxing gloves!

DeFluffy · 23/05/2010 19:25

Bitter - what you on about evil grandmother? I missed that bit, I was swearing at you because I have a total phobia of that picture you put on, and I mean total can't even say the name. If anyone does the voice I run screaming from the room seriously

Hmmm, didn't think it was massively normal re my parents, have asked millions of times before, always hoping to get a different answer!!

Mitts - your father sounds a bit like mine. I can spend ages chosing a birthday present and he picks it up says 'oh a 'x'' and puts it straight down again. Nice. Even worse if you've made it for him yourself!!

DeFluffy · 23/05/2010 19:31

Norma - 'good for you' I love it and at being 7 months gone when she said that!!

Wobble - you should have had a meringue too, according to Norma they're one of your five a day!!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/05/2010 19:33

DF, sorry I thought you meant that character referred to Granny Murry

I know she's annoying, I thought a phobia was a bit far... but then I am terrified of clowns so what do I know?

Ignore me, I am obviously a total fuckwit. Makes much more sense now!

Oh, and FWIW, no I don't think it's normal to be insulted by family members, but mine are a tad far the other way, you know the kind.

"What's this? Ooh, shit on a stick! That's fabulous darling, where on earth did you get it? You made it yourself? Oh thank you you must have gone to so much effort" yada yada yada

Bitter - do you mean granny murray?? I used to hate that program, no its not her im swearing at you about its the other link, in your 'poo post'

DeFluffy · 23/05/2010 19:54

Double - you've lost me. Now tell me more about this footballer...

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/05/2010 19:55

I get that now DF.

But feel free to point out once again my utter utter stupidity.

I asked Bof if she was having a granny murray moment after she dressed up her mannequin a la claude.

She had no idea of the hell that is riversea fingle and now I think she thought I was calling her old and grannylike.

Whereas clearly, in reality,(well in photos anyway) she is HOT.

bellavita · 23/05/2010 19:58

MrsW - that sounds ok. I love cous cous.

Bitter - sounds like good day was had by all.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 23/05/2010 20:02

So my menu for tomorrow should be:

Cereal for brekkie
Ham roll and left over cous cous for lunch
Some mince and rice/pasta/lasagne/spaghetti type concoction for dinner

But can I manage not to snack, and not to help myself to seconds!????

Maybe I shall trampoline for 20 minutes as we're at my parents' house and they have a lovely big trampoline. Must remember to take pads though

gremlins in the computer. sorry.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/05/2010 20:06

I'm off to watch 24 and the mentallist.

Catch up later

bellavita · 23/05/2010 20:09

MrsW - if it were me (but it is you and you now how you feel at lunchtime) then I would have either the ham roll or ham with cous cous and salad.
