MOrning all

Right. Today is the day I start back properly losing weight, like I did this time last year. I am counting on you girls to keep me going but I'm a bit crap at staying on this thread, so come and badger me on my FB wall if you wouldn't mind!

Anyway, plan is:

Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: sandwich and apple
Supper: small helping of whatever we're having

Based on my FF work last year, I reckon that'll work as long as I can stick to it!!!

I am finding it really, really hard not to keep picking at left over food on the table when I've finished my meal; and to not snack during the morning and afternoon.

I also need to exercise more. So I am already booked to play badminton once a week on a Tuesday. I will try and run at least one other time each week, and twice if I can manage it.

I ran this morning 1.5 miles - took me 21 minutes. I feel great for it, but I really get very bored running - bored of my legs hurting! Just got to keep reminding myself it's only 20minutes and I know from experience that it really raises my metabolism and I could lost 2lb each week doing my plan.

I am now at 9st 9lb and I am hoping next Sunday to be 9st 7lb. In two weeks I hope to be back to healthy weight again (as I slipped back up to being overweight after our holiday ).

It's poo, isn't it shiney, when you get into that state of sitting on the sofa. So, so hard to get off it!

You know as soon as you do, though, that it'll all get easier for a bit. Only half an hour or so to go!

Will they play 'catch' with you with a cushion or something? You can do that from the sofa!

NormaSknockers · 23/05/2010 10:56

Well done on the run MrsW - I agree it's incredibly boring but well done on doing it anyway! Try not to fret too much about slipping back into overweight again, you're on top of it now so it won't be long before that comes down.

Shiney - tell them to play hide & seek & just don't bother looking for them....

SAF - what's wrong with parents going to parties? Parents usually attend our children's parties, and, TBH, I far prefer it if they do!

Besides, most parties we have we are inviting children and their parents because our children want the parents there because they like them and are close to them.

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 23/05/2010 10:59

Hahahahahaha @ Norma!

Great idea - how long do you think two 3yo will last before they come and remind you to look for them?

NormaSknockers · 23/05/2010 11:01

Quite a while I would think MrsW

I'm the same if we have a party here, all the mums come along too & we all have a natter & help with crowd control

Right time to get these two into their party frocks (well not DS obviously, a frock wouldn't suit him) & head off - will try my best not to eat very much anything

Guys, can I lose 10 kg in 6 weeks?

TotalChaos · 23/05/2010 11:34

shiney - ah sounds like you've reached the stage where ignoring is more hassle than joining in with them then.....maybe something like playdoh or pen and paper that needs fairly minimal supervision?

QS - possible - yes - advisable - less so. possible in the sense of if you did a very low calorie diet - one of these 500 cal a day formula food jobbies. Do it the sensible and sustainable way - 1500 cals a day and loads of exercise, and aim for 4 or 5 kilos instead.

Btw it's taken me 5 months to lose 14 kilos...

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 23/05/2010 11:34

I still don't understand the issue, SAF. Does it matter if they come?

QS - probably, but it would be hard work and possibly not very good for your body.

Lizzylou · 23/05/2010 11:46

QS if you combined diet and exercise (cardio + toning) then you could possibly look 10kg slimmer whilst losing a sensible amount, as TC says 4/5kg.
Is it for a special occasion?

Have been to the gym which was hot but I worked v hard and am now entertaining the boys. They are rather over excitable in the heat

Mrs W - good luck with the healthy eating. How much do you want to lose? 9st 9 is below my target weight . Would snacking on crispbreads/fruit not work for you?

Lizzylou · 23/05/2010 11:57

Oh and I can heartily recommend the film 7lbs with Will Smith, I guessed the plot but it was a lovely bittersweet film and I blubbed like a baby, could have been the Pimms and the fact that Will Smith is adorable.

SAF, I haven't done as much exercise this week due to Pox boy so had to go and blast some fat today. For the first time I wasn't the only red sweaty person in the gym, everyone was dripping.

Have tried to get the boys to go for a wak round the reservoir and then play on the park but they are having none of it.

Ooh, I thought Seven Pounds was terrible. but that's possibly because it was a pirate bad copy.

I hate ants with a passion. I always forget thus about summer. The season of ants, flies and wasps.

Well, only just up- it was the usual late saturday night, but I drank a LOT less, and diluted the wine in sparkling water. These tablets are scary shit, so I don't think I'll be sneaking extra drinks in. I looked up the side effects on the web (big mistake), and do you know what the first one is?

Death

Glad to see Alice back x
