This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

Mitts - I think the inside of a bag belonging to any child or trouser pockets are just gross!!

You should see the state of their bedrooms (I think DS2 is slightly better at keeping it tidy than DS1) but sometimes I just shut the door on them. I have given up with the constant nagging.

I am at the hairdressers tomorrow and I know then it will be 7 weeks tomorrow when we all meet!! When I booked all my appointments, it was very fortunate for me that the 6th week fell to the week before the 12th June!

And on the hush...... DH booked the Green Day tickets for Wembley for the 19th June and we have managed to get a hotel for the Friday night and Saturday night too. We will travel down to London when the boys get home from school. They will be made up when they find out. We are keeping it quiet until then.

Sex makes you hard of hearing Shiney

wastingaway · 23/04/2010 17:44

Oh Bella, how fab! They'll be soooo excited.

Mitts, that sounds hard. Best thing to do for ease of dusting is to totally de-clutter ornaments etc. That's hard if you like 'stuff' like I do though.

Lizzy, I do feel quite chipper. That's a good word.
Got some good tidying and cleaning done today, a book I ordered arrived and MIL has dropped off my garden chairs and lawnmower.

bellavita · 23/04/2010 17:46

I don't really do ornaments, so my dusting doesn't take too long. I realise now though just how much cleaning I must have done when I didn't work during the day because I didn't have anything else really to do!

I was on mat leave from 26 weeks so had a lovely clean house for a while.

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 17:53

When DS1 had two two hour naps a day my house sparkled, now it is a pit.

Shiney, I may try that fruit only for a few days next week. Not Monday/Tuesday as that is spinning/gym nights so I will need some fuel.

Bella, your boys must think they have the coolest parents around.

bellavita · 23/04/2010 17:53

800 calories is not an awful lot you know...

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 17:57

ive had a lovely nap, just having my tea (spicy chicken breasts 3 points each) then off to my mates for wine time, i will go over my points tonight i know i will, but going to make up for it tomorrow and buy some batteries for the wii and do some exercise

i am going to chill out this weekend, and do feck all

bellavita · 23/04/2010 17:58

wasting, they were upset when the tickets became available months ago and you could only purchase them in 2's and obviously we needed 4. DH just happened to look a few weeks back and 4 together were available so we bought them. DS1 keeps saying how sorry he is not to be seeing them again (we saw then in August in Vegas). They will be beside themselves on that Friday when they come home from school to find they are going to London.

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 17:58

Shiney are you not doing WW online anymore? thought you signed up for the 3 month deal like me?

Hello all

Just a quickie before I stick the kids in the bath.

Went to the garden centre to stock up on bedding plants - am going to tackle the front garden at the weekend.

Shiney- 800 calories a day really doesn't sound very much.

Lizzy - how's the shred going?

Mitts - my house is a tip, I shouldn't spend so long on MN

Bella - both GreenDay and haircut sound fun.

Fleecy · 23/04/2010 18:01

well done on your weight losee bella and wasting

I've also lost 2lb this week - yay! Am getting more used to Food Focus now and starting to know how to get the best use of my daily calories to stay full and not feel deprived.

Am very impressed with so many of you doing the shred dvd. I think it sounds frankly terrifying

Nice to see you hells. Hope your DH has a wonderful birthday looking lovely in all his new clobber!

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 18:03

I had a day off, Bitter, too bloated and achey so didn't bother.
I have done it every day this week as well as the swimathon, gym and a spin class so think my muscles need a rest.

We need to sort our front garden out.

Have a lovely weekend, Vinny.

DH is back home soon, have missed him. Am shattered so early night here I think.

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 18:04

Bella thats lovely, my parents used to do things like that when we were young, i'd come on from school to find we would be going somewhere lovely, happy memories

bellavita · 23/04/2010 18:04

Hello Fleecy Yay for your weightloss.

Oooh Happy Birthday MrHells.

TWC - hope you enjoy your evening tonight - wine sounds good!

Shiney, that looks a lot more than it sounds calorie wise.

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 18:07

Well done, Fleecy
The shred really isn't so bad, she is a bit scary (and they are all far too muscly for my liking), you just use different muscles I think than other exercise.

DH is back! Right see you all Sunday, have a good weekend

TotalChaos · 23/04/2010 18:10

Mitts - I am v. v lazy - I don't iron at all, and either DH takes us in the car for school run or I come back on the bus. I would be a shrieking harridan walking both ways (DS either ambles or runs, no normal speed!)

bella that sounds ace, they will love green day!

shiney - well done on that 4 pounds. I suppose I ought to disapprove of 800 cals a day, but if it's just for 3 days, I suppose it's an improvement on the fruit.

bellavita · 23/04/2010 18:10

Byeeeeeeeeee Lizzy

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 18:10

well done on the loss Fleecy, and Shiney (even though you diet techniques are a little )

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 18:12

Bella - the Vita household is indeed very cool. They will be so chuffed won't they.

Shiney - after that 3 lbs will that be it? It feels like you've lost loads recently.

I'm still being good(ish) with my healthy eating but mostly now I need to just exercise more. Partly for my back and mostly for my flab. I reckon my diet is healthy enough and I really don't want to give up more -chocolate-- than I already have.

So I've been doing 2x pilates a week. And walking for at least an hour a day (as DS school is 30 mins brisk walk). I really can feel it make a difference. My arse is a bit less wobbly for sure and my back is not aching half as much.

Fleecy - I'm hoping he doesn't have too wonderful a time tonight as I'm not with him! He's so funny though - he really did enjoy getting the new clothes...he is perhaps too in touch with his metrosexual side!

bellavita · 23/04/2010 18:15

Hells, they will be chuffed to bits.

Well done too Shiney on your weight loss, you have done amazingly well.

Sounds like your back is well and truly on the mend Hells. Good on you doing the pilates and all that walking.
