This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

MitsubishiWarrioress · 23/04/2010 15:40

....or what Trills said...

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/04/2010 15:41

Hellooooo!

Not been about much on this thread - apologies (damn RL!)

I have been rubbish this week foodwise, but I am still shredding religously

Think I may start afresh on monday - am cutting out alcohol and diet coke.

Did I tell you my new scales arrived? I am 4 lb heavier than I thought

I'm off to the garden centre in a minute but promise to be around a bit more this evening

Oh, and welcome qod

bellavita · 23/04/2010 15:43

I come under East Yorkshire Trills and I work for North Yorkshire County Council hence the different schools. But even if I lived in the area I work in, lets just say I would send my boys elsewhere...

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 15:52

grr there has been a pair of ds1's undies on the bathroom floor since yesterday, he comes in, showers, then disappears for days, so i have just picked them up with twizers and threw them on his pillow `

bellavita · 23/04/2010 15:55

TWC!

TotalChaos · 23/04/2010 16:00

hello ladies! the political threads are somewhat erm peculiar - will see what we can blame TWC for as well as iceland and amywinehouse. possibly Michael Jackson's demise? and Vesuvius erupting?

SAF - agree with you that London can be surprisingly cheap for food - was gobsmacked that Wetherspoon's food on Shaftesbury Avenue (so prime tourist ville) was cheaper than oop North in Liverpool! It's because there's such a huge choice. Hope you get more into the spirit of your move - you've said yourself how more friendly it is over there, and twill do you good to get some space from your parents.

bella - 2 ambulances, bloody hell!

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 16:01

i am childfree now till Sunday evening

i have put on a lb i keep weighing myself eveyday

TotalChaos · 23/04/2010 16:01

I like your style with grotty kids TWC

weightwise - it's coming off slooooooooooowly despite me still being a porker . Managed shred routine 1 yesterday, will carry on forcing myself through it again, it's definitely strenuous.

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 16:02

Bella is your school rough? sounds like the comp i went too

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 23/04/2010 16:04

TC - are your legs like jelly? I'm on day 4 and I still can't walk downstairs without it hurting

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 16:05

oh it pisses me off TC, if he leaves his shite lying around, i pick it up, open his bedroom door and lash it in it does annoy him, but i am not a maid, and im not going to live with his shit around me while he swans off to his GF's

QueenofDreams · 23/04/2010 16:15

ok and what is shred routine?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 23/04/2010 16:17

Mmmm..I like your style TWC...

I am shredding just about every other day. but have to just do a set amount of time. How do you all manage your time? I am really struggling. MNing is a treat most days and I have to be honest mostly I can either catch up OR post which makes me feel its all me me me...

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 16:18

just googled tiger bread - it looks yummy (but is it wholemeal bella ?)

DD keeps putting things on her lip wound . So it keeps bleeding again. And it doesn't seem to bother her

TotalChaos · 23/04/2010 16:22

MW - I have only one school age child and a part-time job, so some days I have several hours spare. I watch very little telly. And I do ahem sometimes MN while DS plays out/on Wii etc. DS needs relatively little sleep (? connection with mild SN)- so doesn't really go to bed before 10pm so I have to be ruthless in carving out time for myself.

Bitter - legs aren't too bad, it's the overhead arm movement that's the problem, as they already get achey due to repetitive movements in my job.

Vinny - if the pillow doesn't work, maybe serve them up on a breakfast plate just to make sure he gets the hint

bellavita · 23/04/2010 16:23

hells, of course it is wholemeal >

TWC - rough is one way of describing it.... we have behaviour managers that have to go and control the classes for the teachers and they chase the truants around the school! But I love it!

bellavita · 23/04/2010 16:29

I tell you what winds me up with my boys TWC - when they take their trousers off they also at the same time take their undies off so they are all interwined and I have to sort them out before putting them in the wash.

TotalChaos · 23/04/2010 16:32

queen of dreams - it's the Jillian Michael's Exercise DVD called 30 day Shred. Idea is you "shred" i.e. reduce your flab etc in 30 days. It's split up into 3 workouts of 20 minutes each, for varying levels of fitness. I am finding level one somewhat erm challenging.

wastingaway · 23/04/2010 16:35

Taking off trousers, pants and socks in one fell move is a skill Bella.

Hells, ouch, hate to see DS hurt, I'm on edge all the time as he flollops around, and he's nearly two. Bless her.

Mitts is super-lovely.

Hello QoD and welcome. Shred is a good DVD everyone's doing that I'm too scared to order.

wastingaway · 23/04/2010 16:36

In fact you're all super-lovely.

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 16:41

Bella - very naughty - not wholemeal - what ever next

My DS has the same skill as your DS's on the pant/trouser front. He also loves to run up the stairs for his bath shredding clothes. So you see a little bottom ahead of you and clothes on each stair - and he expects muggins to pick them all up (which I end up doing)

Better start supper. I'm stuck at home tonight and DH is out with work to celebrate. I offered so I'm not cross. But looking forward to wine and MN'ing (without feeling guilty.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 23/04/2010 16:42

It is challenging TC.. I have been going to K Boxing for a year now and there are bits that Shred make me wince at. She's good though IMO.

Snuggles Wasting

Bella... I 'like' (not really right word) hearing about your Job school. I'd love to get a job at a school like that..... Still contemplating looking into mentoring.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 23/04/2010 16:48

I love my DD but she is GROSS. I have to put on rubber gloves to put my hands in her many handbags because of the 'stuff' you are liable to put your fingers into when I am sorting her room.

Ew Ew Ew.....

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 16:51

I think that the shred does work, can definitely start seeing the difference now, though it is tough. Am on Level 2 now but don't think I will be going up to Level 3 for a VERY long time.

Wasting, you are very chipper and free with your snogs

Mitts, I work from home and am quiet at the moment, so hop on and off MN a lot. I also have a house that is very neglected. I do the shred thing at lunchtime, so I have time for a quick shower pre-school pickup.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 23/04/2010 16:58

My Fibro does mean that I flag sometimes but I just can't do it all. It's about 3/4hr getting DD either to or from school (we walk). I work out of home 2 days a week which takes up most of the time between school runs. It's just everything.

I am tidying DD's room, which is just a constant mess. The house is dreadfully dusty and she gets asthma but our position ona quarry road makes it difficult to conquer and I am just knackered, with ironing and usual house stuff I just don't know how to cope...

waaaahhhhhhhh....

Blah....
