This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

Sorry claudia had to drop ds at school. he is Five. but has worked with the consequences system since he was 3. We have rules about what he make decisions on. I dont lay out his clothes. but we types of clothes. Posh clothes, play clothes, school uniform. Tell him the type and let him pick. If behaviour is good he might get to suggest what he wants for tea if not he is not being big enough to make choice thus no choice for tea.

DH took DD to the cinema today and paid £11, it is our local fleapit cinema which is lovely, take your own sweets, icecream lady in the front during the interval, bar downstairs that you can buy wine and take it up with you. I don't begrudge them but I do the big chains.

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 10:07

good morning

i hate my job sometimes, i jsut want to MN (like i do most working days) but no the software is not liking me this morning so i have to sort out ishoos

back soon....

hellsbelles · 23/04/2010 10:09

I tried to catch up I really did...but there are so many posts and all lifes trials and tribulations seemed to have been discussed and sorted in the last few days by you wise lot!

So no catch up (but hoping now our dear Yank is back she will start doing her epic, all encompasing ones!).

Jujus - happy birthday...all the best sorts are Taurus (am assuming you are!).

Yank - I have a super swizzy breast pump - it's one of those fancy pants Medela ones. If you want it, it's yours. YOu will need to get a new breast pad bit (as I steralised it and it went all out of shape) but other than that it's fine (I think). Let me know.

Spent much of yesterday spoiling DH (out shopping!). It's his birthday today but we bunked off work yesterday afternoon and it was bliss.

Have to get work and house sorted but will try and catch up soon.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 23/04/2010 10:14

Not today, the other day.

MyCatIsABastard · 23/04/2010 10:20

MOrning everyone.

Had a v pleasant evening with Sazz last night. I am impressed with her ability to continue to hold a very decent conversation after 3pints of lager. I used to be able to drink with the best of them but these days 3pints would have me giggling like an idiot and feeling like a bag of shite today!

Defluff - Me and Sazz are Gloucester so not far from Worcester.

What was with the bloody peruvian nut! Honestly some people seriously need to remove the poles from their backsides (might lose some weight that way too).

Once again I am reading this and not working. NOT GOOD!

btw DS ear looks OK this morning and my nails are very short. Poor chap!

MyCatIsABastard · 23/04/2010 10:32

My bloody DH!

He gave up work last weekend, his choice, practically begged me to do it. I can earn a load more than him so it makes sense for me to work whilst he sets up his online business, which he is doing and it is going OK.

He has been a miserable bloody sod since his first day of not working! He got a cold so didn't feel too well but he is getting better now but is actually getting grumpier! Now he's stomping around the house like some sulky teenager and is upsetting DD.

I'm guessing he's feeling a tad emasculated or something because of the not working but it was his choice, not mine!

We're going to Scotland next week so hopefully some time away will cheer the miserable bastard up! Normally he's pretty good but this week he has been crap!

Oh MyCat - it is strange and quite terrifying when you go from employment to self employment, I know been there done that got the t-shirt. Hope you enjoy your week in Scotland wnd maybe it will give you the opportunity to talk to him.

Well I am officially in love with a man that is not my DH, his name is Tom and he is strong and forcefull and good at taking charge and has promised me that he will get the pond, garden, courtyard and walls done ASAP.

Also it is a struggle and a shock going from working in an environemnt where you see people regulalry to one where you don't.

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 10:46

Oh Mycat, hope his mood improves.

SAF, you will be fine once you're there, it's just the getting organised to go stuff that is stressing you.

Fanny, ooh we could all do with a "Tom" in our lives. I'd like one to sort out my humungous laundry pile that is not getting sorted whilst I am sat on my fat ass typing away

Going to go and re-try skinnies on to make myself howl but make sure I don't go toooo made this weeken.

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 10:46

Mad and weekend, my typing is shite

SAF - before the rubbish happened with the man, did you really want to go? If so, then maybe hold onto that and don't let him bother you (if you can). Write down your reasons for going and your reasons for not going, see if they weigh up and then think about it. And it;s not permanent. If you go and it doesn't feel right, then come home again.

MyCatIsABastard · 23/04/2010 10:54

Thanks everyone. You are right, it is a big change for him and I should be more understanding. I just wish he would see the positive in it. I guess I'm more annoyed because I am sat up here writing marketing plans for free for the company that designed our website so that we don't have to pay cash and he is downstairs being a miserable sod and I'm having to sort it all out.

Fanny, all sounds very Lady Chatterlys to me . I love a forceful outdoor type

Slugbrains · 23/04/2010 10:56

lizzy, I feel your laundry pain. it is my next plan. However, i have just had a lovely soak. No ds to let himselve into the bathroom (despite locked doors).

It is truely horrid going from being out working and not. it is something i am stuggling with, and i have only been out of it for 8 months. Takes a while to adjust.

"tom" sounds lovely five.

Right off to dress, iron and brave the docs.

SAF, maybe the time out there in the sun will give you the space you need to think things through. It's not a failure to do these things and find they might not work, it's an adventure and something to learn from.

And are you going to meet up with the internet guy?

Lizzylou · 23/04/2010 11:07

Am sat here in skinnies, trying to stretch them a bit
They fit loads better than at the beginning of the week, big improvement, if only I wasn't retaining so much blooming water grrr

I just the waistband to not be so snug so the spillage is not so great.

So, no longer victoria sponges on each hip but still some large muffinage.

MyCatIsABastard · 23/04/2010 11:10

Lizzy, well done on the skinnies. Put a long floaty top on then muffinage will be nuffinage

DeFluff · 23/04/2010 11:17

Oooooo a 'Tom' I want one. My friend (yes REALLY) used to fantasise about her dp being a mechanic. Used to pretend she'd gone to the garage (in her posh clothes, probbly Boden!) and he was there all oily and sweaty and she couldn't pay because she'd forgotten her wallet and he suggested she pay for the work done in other ways and errr. You get the jist. And no it really is a friend not me

Gloucester - not too far definitely.

Lizzy - I have whole cakes on my hips, very depressing.

I have a uber controversial and private thread over in rel, only had one response, am going to bump shortly. Feel free to advise Not in my name obviously. And not in Squirrel name either.

TerryWogansCock · 23/04/2010 11:28

SAF get that suitcase packed and get thee to the sunshine, just see it as a holiday, a change of scenery, and a chance to relax in the sun and drink wine in the evenings, and wander round in floaty dresses looking cool and sexy, i am very can you fit me and the finnster in your suitcase?

will you have internet access once you are there?
