This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

SAF, I smack 'em too. Not a lot, very very occasional as a last resort, but I do smack.

Morning mitts- you seem perky!

Ds feels the need to control things, he is OCD and I am very precise about what he is allowed to make decisions about. Decisions about how he behaves allows him to be in control of something and stops the backlash of you are so mean/horrid/nasty cos it can be turned back on him and helps to diffuse. SAF i had to go down this route, as anything else resultiing in me, someone else / something getting hurt or broken.

How old is your ds slug?

Good MOaning

It took me ages to load the old thread and see what was said re the old title.

Apologies for any inadvertant offence caused by the esoteric title. Hopefully Trills has done a better job with a new seam to mine with this one- even if it sounds like a possible martial art. Although, to be fair, any inadvertant decapitation or limb dismemberment would be the quickest route to significant weight loss in my case, it is not to be elevated to the status of thread policy. Thankyouverymuch.

waves hello to everyone.

dd1 (5) is a nightmare too. Can be an angel then its massive ters tantrums etc. Think its something to do with school but not sure what. Have been in to see teacher but not found out what yet. A class of 12, 3 boys. Some of the girls are sort of lip glossy and 'cool' whereas mine and a couple of others are still 'babies' really (as IMHO they should be) laughing at putting cardis over their heads etc. Some of the 'older' ones have older sisters so that may be it. Who knows. Think I'm grasping at straws. I usually fall back on the fact that she must be 'ill/tired' etc if she plays up, makes me feel better

Was it Total who'd read book I was reading? If so, I tried it this morning, dd screaming at dp, me (serenely) 'you feel upset dd' her'yes I am. HE is NASTY.' Cue DP glaring at me. Back to drawing board.

Eating shredded wheat for breakfast. Think stew for tea but its really hot here, meh.

The Battle of Jushi

was a battle between the Han Dynasty and the Xiongnu over the Turpan Basin in 67 BC. The battle was a success for the Han, who were led by Zheng Ji. The king of Jushi Wugui surrendered to Han, after the Han launched the attack from Tarim Basin and besieged the city Jiaohe, capital of Jushi. The Xiongnu come with an aid to Jushi, but escaped after Zheng Ji and Sima Xi confronted with the armies. Zheng Ji then left 20 men with a general to protect the king of Jushi, but he was afraid of the return of Xiongnu, and fled to Wusun. The Xiongnu implanted Doumo as the king of Jushi, and moved the population further east from Jiaohe. Zheng Ji then sent 300 men to seize the city.

Got the above out of a fortune cookie doesn't bode well does it?!
