This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

I had servere hyperemisis with the finnster, there wasnt a day in my pg when i didnt throw up at some point, so i acctually lost weight, he has been diagnosed with a mild form of dwarfism and i always wonder if it was due to the lack of nutrients he must of got in my pg, but the consultant said no, just one of those things, but it makes you wonder doesnt it

Shiney - My mum thinks the hrt was what led to her breast cancer. I have no idea if they're linked or not

I'm not randomly posting nonsense, I'm just working way down thread

NormaSknockers · 26/04/2010 09:43

DeFluff my MIL refuses to take HRT for that reason as she's read/heard so much about it being linked to breast cancer

DeFluff · 26/04/2010 09:47

jesus christ -wright bloke talking about putting people in a kind of 'camp'if they refuse 3 x jobs, and then feed them subsistence rations. Bizarre.

Waves at yank and queen, hellooooooooo

bellavita · 26/04/2010 09:48

Sorry - can I just ask about this Lucky Charm thing... I don't know what you are on about? Have I missed summat?

TrillianAstra · 26/04/2010 09:48

Babies are like leeches, they suck out all the goodness from you (in utero and BFing) - fewer calories is fine but if you're dieting you need to make sure you get all the right nutrients, mostly for your sake.

Vinny I really doubt your sickness hurt Finnster in any way, must have been horrible for you though!

bellavita · 26/04/2010 09:52

Defluff, how long will that shop last you for?

hellsbelles · 26/04/2010 09:53

thanks all for the heel info. Should we be worried that none of us owns a pair of trainers other than to look good? I shall have to await Sazz's return. I suspect she'll know.

DeFluff · 26/04/2010 09:53

DIB - YES, here we long for mondays. Apart from me as im on maternity so am still at home with one of the devil's spawn.

Bitter - poor you re work, hope not too dull

wastingaway · 26/04/2010 09:54

Morning!

It was me who wanted Lucky Charms. Also how about these.

I slimmed down a little when pg without trying. I found there wasn't enough room in my abdomen to eat loads. Dropping the Pepsi Max and alcohol probably helped too.

Flexitol, Flexitol, Flexitol.
I keep forgetting to use it, but it bloody works. I have the driest feet and it's the only thing that helps. IT has helped my nasty cracked finger Bitter, so definitely worth it. You can get cotton gloves in Boots too for not much to help it soak in.

Had some cereal and OJ and vits.

DS has got bloody oral thrush again. I've dug out the creams though.

NormaSknockers · 26/04/2010 09:55

DeFluff how much??????

bellavita · 26/04/2010 09:59

Thanks for the coffee Norma

I really need to go and get showered now and ready for work. Have done a Mitts style chopped salad to take with me.

QueenofDreams · 26/04/2010 10:01

Thanks so much for advice ladies.
I had bad hyperemesis while pg with DS and he was born 9lb 8 - so that's what made me think losing a little weight shouldn't be a problem.
I will speak to midwife about it. otherwise I'll just eat healthy and get a little exercise

DeFluff · 26/04/2010 10:06

bella - sorry i keep getting people mixed up! Im rubbish!

the shopping should last about 3 weeks, but £50 was nappies, wipes and formula. Is 360 odd a lot for 3 weeks? I'm rubbbish at food shopping and meal planning.
