This is our mumblemumbleth thread. We want to eat more healthily and/or lose weight.

In theory.

Mostly we like to chat and admire teh thread mascot - he helps us not to over-eat.

If that doesn't do it for you, you can always go old-school - I know I'm too scared to go into the dark spooky kitchen now

bellavita · 25/04/2010 18:54

Umm I wondered that too.

Am sure

TotalChaos · 25/04/2010 18:57

I'm very scruffy low maintenance, and also had never heard of primer. Will gladly follow Shiney's advice on avoiding eye shadow and using lipgloss instead of lipstick. Is mascara allowed?

I second the mascara thing!

TrillianAstra · 25/04/2010 19:08

Lots of mascara. Lots and lots. Very important.

bit late i know for the make up chat, but instruction, i am like you, and can never find a good foundation/blusher combo. I am quite red, and very prone to blushing, so i definitely need a primer, and when i had my benefit make over, they used a primer mixed in with the dear john cream (normal moisturiser i think) then concealer, then a tinted moisturiser. I kept glancing at myself in windows etc and thinking - wow, i'm not red Am currently saving to buy some decent make up, not sure i will go with the full benefit range, but defo the primer - mixed with normal cheap as chips moisturiser

and shiney - i definitely thought you were posh, as well as the rest of you tbh

ex has just dropped the girls off, and i reminded him that i dont have a lift anymore to drop them off for their overnight stay (pa was doing it,but she has now left) and that he would need to pick them up. Tis a 10 min car ride. His response - he will do it if i pay petrol. I couldnt help myself - i just laughed in his face, reminded him he was the one fighting for contact, and that how long am i having to wait for maintence. Junior looked stunned, and later admitted she was scared he was going to kick off, but i swiftly diverted attention onto mini.

Am fully expecting there to be trouble in the week ahead though

Foundation with a brush? How does that work then. God I'm a novice. But I have my debit card and am about to buy up all these lovely things mentioned off net.

jetcat · 25/04/2010 19:16

truthfully, and i guess most of you know by now i have various insecurities, i worry that at our meet up, i will stand up like a sore thumb, as i think i am the only one on long term benefits

It sounds like you did amazingly well there with your ex Jet, well done you. He is being a twat, and it sounds like you stood up for yourself really well.

And eyelash curlers before mascara.

I'm not posh - I mean - have you noticed my name

bellavita · 25/04/2010 19:23

jet - you will not stand out...

Defluff, the lancome foundation I use is on a pump, so I just blob a bit out on the foundation brush - tis quite a flat brush, maybe 1/2" wide and then just sort of flick the foundation over the bits of my face that need it.

The Lancome lady recommended it. The brush to buy was £26 alone and I said I was not going to buy it as it was too expensive. As she popped the foundation into the bag, she said to me that she had put a brush in the bag too as a gift.

bellavita · 25/04/2010 19:26

Bloody cheek of your xp jet. It sounds like you did a grand job of telling him where to get off.

jetcat · 25/04/2010 19:28

thanks guys

I am actually quite panicking over make up for the night shiney amongst every thing else - so may well book you in to do a make over for me

thanks for the kind words re ex trills - he keeps asking me when am i going to buy a car, and truth be told, i am not sure i want to, as i still have loads to buy for the house, and once i have to pay for the upkeep and running of a car, there will be not much left for everything else. I know what i am like as well, and know that instead of forcing myself to use the bus/train etc when feeling a little panicky, i will resort back to hiding away again in my car (driving 30 miles for a newspaper etc so i dont have to talk to the people in my local shop) and will stop benefitting from walking everywhere

But i think he thinks i am not getting one just to wind him up
