Welcome to our, ooh, 64th Healthy Eating thread. We are a bunch of friends who are happy to welcome newbies prepared to join in with our resolve to strive to be healthier, quite possibly slimmer, but certainly filthier than the rest of mumsnet. If you can embrace our mascot with reverence, then you're in!

Away we go...

As you can see we had serious grown conversations today

defluff i was wondering how bite fitted into tthe spectulum bit. just realised you mean ds. some kid at school bit him on the back. Kid has been in big trouble.

plus it is length not girth bigger.

DeFluff · 22/04/2010 19:07

Poor DS! I hope he is ok and then have had a 'serious chat' with the other kid. That's terrible. DS is only 5 isn't he?

I know re the speculum but it was very amusing to make 'girth' jokes at her. We all met at the NCT over 5 years ago so our 'bits' have always been fair game in the humour stakes

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 19:19

yep ds is ok fairly calm today which is nice.

I have had a very short kip. feel about ready to deal with bedtime. Ex is in a bit of state. he had tooth out yesterday and sounds dead. bless. Ds cant wait to go see him tomo. i am looking forward to saturday evening. all happy then.

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 19:26

yep. its ok, ds seems really settled today. which is nice, I fell asleep briefly. am feeling strangely calm and very tired. no idea why.

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 19:27

? wtf happened there?

MyCatIsABastard · 22/04/2010 19:48

Evening all.

Just popping on before I go meet Sazz at t'pub (lucky me going to the pub twice in one day.. I may need to lie down from the shock of it!).

I am a bad mummy! DS was struggling to get to sleep so I went up to settle him, he felt really hot so I changed his bed clothes and popped him in a lighter sleeping bag. As I was doing so I managed to catch the poor chaps ear with my too long thumbnail and drew blood . By heck did he scream! My nails are now very short and he is asleep.

I need a glass of wine and a quiet sit down.

Lizzylou · 22/04/2010 19:52

OOh My cat, have a lovely evening with Sazz.

Don't worry about the DS scratching thing, I have done things like that so many times.

Am sooo jealous of all the meet ups

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 19:54

have a lovely evening my cat!

DidEinsteinsMum · 22/04/2010 20:03

shakes hair lose. that is better.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 22/04/2010 20:12

Could we meet half way ish in Manchester Lizzy? I would love to

I hate it when things like that happen MyCat... And then mine would subject me to 'Look what Mummy did until the scars or whatever had faded'

I am also strangely calm and tired...

MitsubishiWarrioress · 22/04/2010 20:15

Or maybe it is calmly strange?

DreamsInBinary · 22/04/2010 20:16

Evening all

Nice to see Shiney on here

SAF - DS (3) goes to rugby tots and loves it. Almost as much as DH does. It's very interactive and proper men's men do the training and use whistles and everything

Wasting - "pops" in this house

DEM & Mits - so of your meet-up

Love carrots, but only raw. Cooked carrots taste odd and are a bit pointless.

Sazz - v impressed at your tenacity there, when are you off?

Fanny - four of us have DC's moving into school in Sept. Can we sob together?

Tracey - I ground the side of my car into a concrete pillar in a multi-storey a couple of years back. It's horrible.

LL - post a pic and enjoy your girls' night out

DEM - a bite of the back how dreadful. How is he about it?

Lizzylou · 22/04/2010 20:16

I would love to as well, Mitts, problem is work, during week and on a Saturday.
We should be able to work something out though.

Calmly strange, I'd say

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 20:23

its not safe to return just spoken to pgce tutor and had to turn down automatic return within 3 years. I cant garentee the situation will improve enough. it sucks. all brigges burnt.

JuJusDad · 22/04/2010 20:25

What's all this about meeting people via t'internet? Reckon you'll only end up with weirdos if you do that.

You know, the sort of people who'll only eat certain things or go on mad diets or be into weird martial arts or have complete nightmare exes...

Oh, hello Shiney my sweet

Yeah, his rubbish spelling's somewhat annoying, but he does sound quite nice. I'd say give it a shot. But we should await the goddess's opinion

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 20:25

well aparently i am a weird cookie if it makes you feel better.

ds is in the bath.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 22/04/2010 20:32

Hello all

I'm not really here, just thought I would say hello while I watch that Louis Theroux programme from the other night.

Lizzylou · 22/04/2010 20:34

DEM we are all strange on this thread!

Juju, I know! Imagine meeting someone on an internet site, wierd

Loving "Goddess", do you give private lessons in romance to DH/P's who may be lacking in suitable romantic titles for their other halves? I am Sweetpea, but to be honest, that is fairly shite in comparison to GODDESS isn't it?

bellavita · 22/04/2010 20:36

Evening

Defluff - you are correct with the icing! A tiger roll is well ummm made with tigers . It has kind of a topping on and is yummy.

Mitts and Lizzy and at your meet-up - I am only 1 hour and 24 mins away by train.....

Sazz and MyCat - have a fab time.

I enjoyed my fish and chips (small portion).

How are we all?

DreamsInBinary · 22/04/2010 20:46

Hey Bella

Sort of enjoying the election debate at the mo and sort of wanting to watch HIGNFY

DIB, yes to weeping together, DD has a few settling in days so thought I would take her out of preschool for the whole day, she can go to new school, and then we could do ladies who lunch or go to the cinema etc.

Lotster - DH is from West Kent, we fled from there.

TrillianAstra · 22/04/2010 21:05

What DIB? Surely they wouldn't schedule HGNFY against teh debate? That's madness!

Watching the debate, mostly saying things like 'ooh, everyone should drink whenever they say "our country"'

Glad yuo enjoyed your fish&chips Bella
