Welcome to our, ooh, 64th Healthy Eating thread. We are a bunch of friends who are happy to welcome newbies prepared to join in with our resolve to strive to be healthier, quite possibly slimmer, but certainly filthier than the rest of mumsnet. If you can embrace our mascot with reverence, then you're in!

Away we go...

Gigi and SAF - yes lots better thank you, it was really nice of everyone yesterday to hold my hand while I was having a huge minor meltdown, thank you

Let us know how the football goes. x

Where's bof and her soft, silky ears??

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 22/04/2010 15:10

Hope you are feeling better today Defluff.

Right I really must go and collect DS.

wastingaway · 22/04/2010 15:11

Trills, I love that you're getting your political friend round. Very sensible.

SAF, go for it, you have nothing to lose.

You non-'f' word users, what do you say for passing wind?

I say trump, which sounds very naughty coming out of DS mouth as we were only allowed to call it a 'pump' when I was little.

I've ended up sobbing at DH cos of all the 'coping' I've been doing this week.
Bet he's soooo glad to be home.

And then discovered that DS had helpfully brought one of the sunflower seed pots in and dropped it at the bottom of the stairs. I'm sure it was an excuse for him to say 'pompost' over and over. Gah!

Got to change DS nappy and clean the ? from his face and then we're going out for a walk.

DeFluff · 22/04/2010 15:15

Wasting - I don't pass wind. Thank you.

Waves at Bitter, thank you.

Wasting - glad he's back, crying relieves the soul i think

Saf - Yeah, it's all good. He cooked my dinner last night and took me out for a pub lunch to apologise.

Like I said, he can be a twat, but I wouldn't be without him really

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 22/04/2010 15:32

And I feel your pain saf, I did six hours of ironing on Monday.

I haven't even started the washing for this week.

TerryWogansCock · 22/04/2010 15:32

SaF ed....he sounds cool..go for it.. that is a lovely message...

Carrots are evil and should never be eaten, not just during pregnancy... they are conspiring with aliens to dominate the world.

That's all I have time for now as Slugsy and I walked and talked for 4 hours ....she is a real tonic

Mwah for now... taking DC's to their Dad's... xx

lotster · 22/04/2010 16:16

Hello back to you Mitsubishi Princess and MyCatisaBastard, feeling all at home now!

Does reading the whole thread before checking in each day get easier??

Carrots are fab IMO (just planted some in my new veg patch ) but my old flat mate could not be near a baby sweetcorn. She was convinced they were evil...

My close friend also married a guy she met on t'internet and they have two kids. Eleven years ago it was quite a talking point hw they met but nowadays it's so normal isn't it? When I last dated there weren't even texts

I would have loved a pub lunch today too although I amgetting out for a few hours tonight for the first time in ages alongside my husband.

Sooo, today I have held a brand new baby, without feeling broody which is good as I have sworn to stop at two, and had a great offer on my house!! We were let down by a second buyer a couple of weeks ago so it's a relief to get it all back on. My boy is 4 in August so need to get him a decent place on a waiting list soon at the new area.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 22/04/2010 16:26

SaF what a lovley life.

I too have shed loads of ironing to do, may do it this evening.

We have a Polish couple in for 2 nights.

TC - I haven't had to pay for mine so they may wangle it for you aswell.

Lotster that is now 3 of us with DC's starting in September. any idea where you are going to move too?

Right need to take DD swimming. GiGi hope your DS enjoys his football.

bellavita · 22/04/2010 16:29

aww, fanks.

I have been mega busy at work and then came home to fannying about with fondant icing covering two cake boards - all this weekend will be taken up faffing with decorating cakes. Bloody typical when it is supposed to be nice weather.

I shovelled some scrambled egg down before I left for work at 7.30, had the couscous salad for lunch with an apple, banana and some grapes for in between. I turned down a choc muffin at work. Fish and chips (small portion) for tea. I was supposed to be taking the 2nd portion of couscous salad for lunch tomorrow but DS2 nicked it for his lunch box today...

Sazz, fab news. Hope you have a great time.

SAF - one drink won't hurt will it?

Lizzy, is there a pic of your hair? I am sure it will be wonderful.

Shiney, I loitered with lots of intent last night... and you didn't show up! tsk

lotster · 22/04/2010 16:37

Five go Mad: West Kent.

TrillianAstra · 22/04/2010 16:42

Well done Sazz - you beat EasyJet!

Pub lunches are v popular around here - I have deiced I'm only allowed to go for out lunches on Fridays, or if there's a really good reason, or else it gets too expensive.

What's fondant icing Bella? How's it different to royal icing? Royal is the one you roll out right?

bellavita · 22/04/2010 16:50

No Trills, fondant is the one you roll out. I have just had to roll out enough to cover a 12" square board and a 16" square board and then grapple with it to get it on to the boards. You would use royal icing for writing on cakes or to decorate all over - but it goes hard, you would slap it on with a palette knife. Or you could add some glycerin to it to make it softer)
