We are a bunch of friends who are happy to welcome newbies prepared to join in with our resolve to strive to be healthier, quite possibly slimmer, but certainly filthier than the rest of mumsnet. If you can embrace our mascot with reverence, then you're in!

Away we go...

I am not on fb either, trying to watch a prog and mn at the same time..

SAF - comfort eating sounds divine! You are allowed to do it in the circumstances.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 21:57

Apologies, like I said, I am a mad hormonal cow at the moment.

MyCatIsABastard · 20/04/2010 21:59

SAF, I'm glad it went OK (ish) today and I should think a little comfort eating is allowed to day. Have to say I had to re-read your last post:

... and my secret garden seems tame...

for a moment there I thought you were telling us about your neatly trimmed pubes!!

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 22:01

I have just read back that post and

It is definitely me who is the massive twat.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/04/2010 22:06

Bitter - I will adopt you for your cleaning skills Hadn't disappeared but wifi internet only works in 3 rooms due to thickness of walls and was rying to be sociable with DH who fell asleep so read some more while vaguely watching CSI.

Right that's me for tonight.

DeFluff · 20/04/2010 22:06

Bitter - was watching end of film. Very amusing and dark, reminds me of the crappy horrors I watched as a teenager but with more dark humour. Would recommend if you like things like Ginger Snaps / Scream / Dog Soldiers / The Descent etc.

Bitter also your husband behaved like a tosser. Yes I can see it partly from his side but it is not fair to leave you with the children and play games around when he will or will not be back. I might be being hard on him because my exh used to just walk out sometimes not telling me where he was going and I of course couldn't leave as I had our baby in the house (and don't drive), when I phoned him he'd just ignore it Seriously though it was not fair of him to say he might stay longer.

BigCatWhoIsMine - Good to see you , should the next story be about the next bf of hers, about the selling of knickers (might have told you lot that can't remember), more on the Rubber Ball, the weirdy sex clubs in Germany, the b/s bloke with 9.5 inches, the prostitution or the sister sex? Hmmm, maybe we should have a vote. BTW She now lives abroad and is not on MN, nor would she give a flying £$£$£ about me sharing so don't worry on that score

Speaking of heart stopping moments my brother just got back from his hols. While there he and sil shared a room with their 2 dc (3 and 5), DB and SIL in one double, 2 kids in other double in same room. They woke up at 3am after hearing a noise and checked on dc. THe 3 year old was missing , they looked everywhere and started to really panic (think they were thinking about the Spanish incident) when they realised that a noise was coming from under the bed. They'd put pillows all round bottom of bed in case the dc fell out and the 3 year old had fallen onto a cushion and then rolled under the valance on the bed so they couldn't see her. Very heart stopping!

bellavita · 20/04/2010 22:07

Me too, I am going to bed.

Night everyone, night Fanny.

bellavita · 20/04/2010 22:08
DeFluff · 20/04/2010 22:12

Bitter - you are not a twat. You can't beat me for paranoid ocdness so just stop trying

Am off to bed quick before DP thinks he might be in . I think not

SAF - Animals not good. In fact very ungood.

And apologies for my ginormous posts today, the Mole has been well behaved

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 22:13

Night Bella

Night Fanny, will be round at about 7 tomorrrow, cillit bang in hand

Defluff- What film were you watching?

I liked Dog soldiers, was too much of a wuss to watch the descent. Loved The Hole though - even though I hate Keira Knightly - How can you win an Oscar when you only have one facial expression?

Fleecy · 20/04/2010 22:14

mycat - we have been with them for about 8mo. Every time it goes down, they test the line, confirm there's no fault at their end then pass it on to BT or whoever. We have never ever had a response. It just comes back up again after a while. It's very frustrating. Ours isn't cable though so probably different.

Off to bed. Sweet dreams everyone

Morning Claudia!

DeFluff · 20/04/2010 22:18

I liked The Hole too! It was Jennifer's Body, bought on sky box office. Very diverting!

We watch about 4 films a week, will try to remember some other recent good ones.

Night all x

MyCatIsABastard · 20/04/2010 22:18

defluff - I have no idea where you should start on your friends life, but (in my sad married with kids life I have to get my thrills where i can) do elaborate!

Well, it is v good to be back. I'm hoping that the broadband continues to work for me now rather than randomly packing in. I am now off to bed

BitOfFun · 20/04/2010 22:22

I have been on facebook, and reading a couple of long threads.

I have been chatting to Shiney on fb chat, as i can't seem to talk on the phone without coughing, which makes me puke. My dinner came up though, so that's an excuse to replace with liquid calories, right?

wastwinsetandpearls · 20/04/2010 22:23

Vinny I am glad your date went well, I was a little worried about the messing about he sounds nice, Don't knock the jack the lads with a northern accent , I have a dating career full of them. Although the current model is far from a Jack the Lad - but he is very northern!

I have just got in and now have a few hours work to do so am quite grumpy. Have been healthy today apart from a piece of chocolate and raspberry pavlova. I only ate it to be polite.

wastingaway · 20/04/2010 22:30

Evening ladies!

Poor Ted and poor Bof!

Defluff, toddler under bed made me laugh I'm afraid. I can imagine the panic though.
Remember coming into living room and not being able to see 8 month old DS. As he couldn't crawl forwards he'd backed himself under the Poang chair.

Bitter, The Hole is one film I will never watch again. Seriously creeped me out, even thinking about it afterwards.

I am in no way ready to Shred. I did a Rosemary Conley DVD earlier and really struggled. However, I did it! And I will never feel that weak again.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 20/04/2010 22:31

Good MORNING everyone

Off to finish reading the thread. But just got to the bit about shineys fruit diet and wanted to say, as the Queen of gimickly fadddy weightloss, I totally love those raw food diets - make you behave like a loon for a few days but you do get a lovely light and clean feeling. Look up Leslie Kenton - she does an ace 10 day detox - basically . . .

2 days fruit, then . . .

7 days raw foods - so fruit and veg basically

Finally on the last day eat some museli or other cereal and some grilled fish or chicken.

At the same time you have no tea/coffee/booze. Just lots and lots of water/green tea/juice etc. Can have side effects of headaches and tiredness tho, so BE CAREFUL!

Slugbrains · 20/04/2010 22:37

Morning claudia.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 22:38

I Don't know if you saw my post on the last thread, but wrt Lee Child, I can recommend -

Bad Luck and Trouble

Die Trying

The Hard Way.

But please ignore my previous posts on this thread, I'm being a bit mental tonight.

TrillianAstra · 20/04/2010 22:41

My cama is buggered. Any recommendations?

And I am v tired so wil probably go to bed. This 'going to work' thing is hard work.

BoF if you are puking you need nourishing liquid calories like soup, not booze!

We have Virgin through cable and it has been v reliable so far, and yes very fast.
