Welcome to our, ooh, 64th Healthy Eating thread. We are a bunch of friends who are happy to welcome newbies prepared to join in with our resolve to strive to be healthier, quite possibly slimmer, but certainly filthier than the rest of mumsnet. If you can embrace our mascot with reverence, then you're in!

Away we go...

OP posts:
bellavita · 20/04/2010 19:53

No, you are not being childish Bitter - he is being a TWAT.

hellsbelles · 20/04/2010 19:55

no no no - not just nuts! I just meant something sort of filling that isn't a potato or bread roll . Apparently dark choc is o.k....a few tiny tiny bars pieces

Shiney - suspect Man's view (now who would that be? Surely Ted isn't going to be much help ) is a good idea. IMO men are sometimes pretty crap about writing profiles so hopefully it's just that. Rather than him being not right for our Vinny!

Right must go. Tell me to bugger off if I post again in the next hour.

Iggi999 · 20/04/2010 20:05

Ok I officially admit defeat. I spend longer trying to catch up on threads than ever contributing to them. Have been reading through and my mind is now full of disturbing images of alsations, naked thread members, blind dates, and wicked DHs (got my own one of those).
I can't remember who is happy/sad/unwell for the dog images circling my brain..

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 20:09

I think I may be the twat.

He has just texted me to point out he is helping out his (disabled) father.

MIL died 3 weeks ago.

I just wish he had been honest to how long he would be away.

Plus, I can't walk the dog with the DC's so she is suffering.

Slugbrains · 20/04/2010 20:09

hells its not that the ads are a bad thing but they make me very very sleepy and cba. Where as i actually have to get some stuff done not that i have done anything today, nor will i tomorrow (hospt appt) or thurs (hopefully coffee out). I also have been prescribed them to take regularly just as one off/one week hits to cure my migraine issue. so am warey about using them for their original purpose.

It has been reassurely normal here. I have done little. Relaxed much. neglected ds a bit. Read a lot. Am very glad i have made the decision to not take ds all the way to his dad's, at the mo i feel that that would just have been asking for trouble. The mood that i am in. I have arranged to go skating saturday. I am trying to house tame and cv/job application write between now and then too.

I am chilled and in a better place. ALthough my hormones are a bit all over the place. and it is beginning to get into a pattern. Hormonal twice a month. Great. maybe i will have to get round to channeling them into that book...

VinegarTits · 20/04/2010 20:10

A man pov would be good shiney

i did think his profile read like a bit of a cliche when i first read it, but his texts/messages have been warm and funny which is why i warmed to him, seems nice enough to me but i am not very good a reading people or what they say

Slugbrains · 20/04/2010 20:12

Iggy - good to see you!

VinegarTits · 20/04/2010 20:16

Pie and mash for dinner.

Vinny I hope he is a nice RL man and is just not v good at writing his profile.

TotalChaos · 20/04/2010 20:21

Bitter - I still think your DH was unfair not to let you know earlier about the change of plans

Vinny - I wouldn't be too bothered by a naff profile, as it's a bit like job application forms - they aren't meant to be 100% truthful, more a buffed up version iyswim.

VinegarTits · 20/04/2010 20:22

funny the officer and gentlemen pics where what attracted me to him

i was hoping he still has the suit for future use

ok ok i will play it cool, probably already scared him off anyway

bellavita · 20/04/2010 20:23
Iggi999 · 20/04/2010 20:30

[shitemoticon] for Vinny. Oh, I have plenty!
Bitter, sounds like that "I'll not tell the truth to get me out a row" crap that some men (little boys still) like to do. It just postpones the row of course.
I'm on my own as DH has driven back to work to leave stuff for tomorrow morning as I am insisting he look after DS (I was called by nursery today as he has skin rash/bleeding etc and had to leave work myself). He has arranged for his mother to come, but she won't get here till 11ish, so (as he has the most important job in the world) he has driven 15 miles to write out lesson plans for about 3 classes. I think all this flouncing was to make me say "no, I'll do it" but I'm bloody well not.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 20:30

Vinny - I hope he's a gem, I'm sure you deserve one.

(Though, you know, you may be an axe murderer so I can't be sure)

TC - thanks for that, I feel like he is playing the bereaved card to put the onus on me.

Not to say he doesn't need extra TLC, but I just feel like he is using it as a get out clause to being an arse.

Ignore me. I nearly had a full on tantrum today because I couldn't get my jeans on past my (hideous) knees

Then realised they were my (seriously) skinny arsed friend's jeans.

A size 8 I am not.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/04/2010 20:31

Iggi - I have that same problem but seem to have solved by turning thread into pages but we will see.

Anyway.

Bella is this a new thing with DH about the Bvit?

Bitter - can see where you are coming from but can see from his POV aswell.

Slug - you sound very chilled out if I may say so.

We had prawn, pea and lemon linguine for supper, weigh in tomorrow and eating like a horse at the moment.

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 20/04/2010 20:33

Iggi - thanks - that's what I was trying to put my finger on as he must have hidden his overnight bag in the boot before he told me he was leaving early.

JuJusDad · 20/04/2010 20:34

I also thought the facial chin fuzz was a very bad look for him.

Chaos - very true, but you'd've thought he'd re-read the profile and realise "romantic" was severly over-used...

Definately play it cool, Vinny - he needs to show an appropriate level of interest in asking for a date.

Hope it goes well If not, his loss.

bellavita · 20/04/2010 20:35

Fanny, yes it is a new thing. The bit of bowel that absorbs it - he doesn't have anymore. He had a routine blood test a few weeks ago and it has shown that he is severely defficient in it.

Slugbrains · 20/04/2010 20:37

yep have suitably recovered from the what and how conversation that was going on around me last night. I was very and and a bit .

How are you doing five? are you snowed under with the extra work or are you able to grab a few mos to enjoy the sun?

Slugbrains · 20/04/2010 20:37

thread is lively tonight. tis nice.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/04/2010 20:42

Ok at the moment, have 2 guests in who were meant to be in Spain for her birthday, so have made a her a big slab of chocolate brownies and the fire is lit in the sitting room for them, and then their room to clean tomorrow and some ironing to do. I am doing the first part of my ECDL on Thursday and then more bookeeping for my mother on Friday.

Just realised that we are fully booked every weekend until end of June so that is a lovely feeling and mid week bookings are pickingup.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/04/2010 20:43

Apart from this weekend which is empty.

Lizzylou · 20/04/2010 20:43

Bitter, he is being a good son by helping out his Dad but not a good DH for not letting you know his plans. He has a lot on at the moment, but so do you. Hope you can have a nice time anyway whilst he's away.

Hells, enjoy 24, I don't know where we're up to but we enjoyed many evenings in Jack Bauer's thrall. We used to play the "what time will it be after the ad break" game and count how many times they said "just patching you through"

Vinny, if anyone asked my DH to write up a dating profile it'd be seriously rubbish. "I like curry, football and drinking beer (oh and a good pair of tits)" something like that. He sounds nice and Officer and a Gentleman is my fave

Bella, how is DH? How do they know about his deficiency?

BOF, gawd, you must have been petrified, poor you. Hope you're slurping vodka right now.

Shiney, how is Ted and your top now?

Iggi, good for you for sticking to your guns. How is your DS? Does he suffer with his skin usually?

Have been to the gym and done some cross training, summit training, abs, weights and fat wobbling. I tell you, if I still have a mountain of blubber hanging over my jeans I'm just getting a burkha or summat and forgeting the diet/exercise altogether.

Lizzylou · 20/04/2010 20:45

Fanny, I want you to adopt me, seriously. Your place sounds so idyllic and you look after your guests so well.

DEM, you must be looking pretty fine to be able to wear cycling shorts and a vest top NO wonder you have been attracting some admiring comments, you foxy skater girl.
