Shiney Cult - how do you eat yours?

1002 replies

TrillianAstra · 10/04/2010 16:03

Sparingly we hope - with plenty of fresh fruit and veg

Spring is in the air and we are still here, on our 62nd (?) thread for healthy eating, chat, and of course the cult mascot (what better to put you off your food?).

The aim of the game is to post a lot, eat slightly better than before, and enjoy life.

Hello hello hellooooooooo

Have just drunk a HUGE super strong coffee and now feel all wizzy.

Loved some of the clothes. Esp the Monsoon long black frock.

Oh and that read one.

Is anyone still up? Or shall we meet later?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 14/04/2010 02:03

Hey Claudia

I went to bed ages ago but DD woke me up.

And now I really should go back to bed but I'm awake.

How are you? What's your news?

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 14/04/2010 02:13

Ah, will have to catch up in the morning.

Have a g'day

ClaudiaSchiffer · 14/04/2010 07:35

Phew, just done a 5k walk in lovely autumn sunshine.

Feel bloated today, after humungous portions of food at the pub last night.

On an unrelated matter, my aunt died a week ago, very suddenly of lung cancer (lifetime non-smoker). It's her funeral today in the UK, am a bit sad I can't be there and support my lovely kind and gentle uncle. It's at times like these that being overseas sucks.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 14/04/2010 07:53

Sorry, that's a depressing post to start the day with. Ignore ignore all fine, nothing to see here etc etc

Am going to cook a lovely chicken cacciatore for dinner tonight and treat my long suffering dh.

Anyway, how are you today?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2010 09:03

No need to be sorry, it must be really hard Claudia..... where is the funeral? (( ))

I can't really be here today. I have loads of work and DD has a social calendar to die for. If I want time to paint on Friday, I want to be clear.

I love wearing slips. It makes me feel 'proper'. I like a touch of old fashionedness. There is a local store that sells a small selection.

Have thoughts to go to Nottingham Galleries soon. Keeping up with contemporary practising Artists is inspiring. Ron Mueck who did the Nekky man is cool. Worth checking out, he really plays with size in a way that throws you a bit.

Right. Will try and catch up later. Hope all have good days... x

DidEinsteinsMum · 14/04/2010 09:09

You know i dont need much excuse for coffee

Claudia. it is true being abroad at times like this sucks. I have two of my favourite great aunts die overseas and couldnt go. I dread my nan's death for that reason. It is ok to bring the thread down. we have all done it but the support is amazing. And that helps to. It helps not to have to be perky all the time.

I should do something with my day but am tempted to go back to bed. Well to be truthful I am back in bed. PJs and all. just need to turn radio off and put computer down. CBA is catching up and ds decided it would be a good idea to sleep in my bed for a good chunk of the night. I hate it when he does that. Bed hog!

Lizzylou · 14/04/2010 09:21

Hola

Am feeling brighter today, so no more moany minnie posts from me.

Sleep DEM! I would if I could.

Claudia, that is sad that you are far away. We were accepted to emigrate to New Zealand a few years ago(then we couldn't sell our house so couldn't go), that was the one thing that worried me.

Better do some more work.

wastingaway · 14/04/2010 09:21

Morning!

Claudia, that must be tough. I'm sure they know that your thoughts are with them.

DEM and Mitts, you should both come and visit as you're so near. I can show you the sights of Donny.

Toast and marmalade for breakfast here. Plus my oj with spatone + vits.

ClaudiaSchiffer · 14/04/2010 09:28

Thanks everyone, the funeral is up in Manchester. My poor uncle, I feel so sorry for him.

DEM have a snooze and enjoy it.

TrillianAstra · 14/04/2010 09:35

Morning, just skimmed through, had a few beers last night so didn't make it for the dress-fest.

There was a black monsoon one with a pretty waistband that I liked.

I prefer the "art" with BoF in it thanks.

And Claudia's pub looks nice, sorry about your aunt.

Now that's a date wasting .....

Do you think the world could stand two of me so I can get twice as much done?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2010 10:53

I'm supposed to be taking DD to the park with a friend and her daughter later and her son was telling my DS to 'p' and 'f' off last night and got someone to threaten him...... What is wrong with some people? I don't think for a minute that he is an angel but he knows where he would stand if I thought for a minute he was behaving like that.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2010 10:57

Dolly's on the radio!!! yayyy

MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2010 11:15

Brace yourself ladies... there's a Mitts hormonal tsunami brewing on the horizon........

Lizzylou · 14/04/2010 11:16

I do like a bit of Dolly

Alicetheinvisible · 14/04/2010 11:19

Morning

Wasting - DH may be up in Donny next week, i am always slightly tempted to come with him!

Bad night last night. So tired and just want to eat carbs

TrillianAstra · 14/04/2010 11:23

Who or what is Dolly?

Alice - have a measured amount of carbs that you think will fill you up for a bit, then don't have any more until... something. And drink some water (I know you're bad at that).

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 14/04/2010 11:26

Dolly Parton Trills... ...

What you got for lunch today?

Take care Alice... it does start to get very tiring doesn't it? (( )) x

Hi Lizzy...

Lizzylou · 14/04/2010 11:31

Oh Alice, I was a carb monster when I was pg, just listen to your body and make sure carbs are "good" ones, wholemeal pasta/bread or brown rice.

Mitts, are you going to say anything to the swearing boy's Mother?

Alicetheinvisible · 14/04/2010 11:33

Ok, will drink some water

Luckily, haven't stuffed my face yet, simply because

a) there is no pre-prepared shite in the house

and

b) i am too lazy to get off my bum and make something

Dolly is great!

Dolly is fabulous, but have you seen Kenny Rogers recently.

Astonishing!

TrillianAstra · 14/04/2010 11:51

I have had some dried apricots and 3 cups of tea today. 1st cup of tea of the day always has a sugar, the rest don't.

Chicken and veg soup from Mr Heinz for lunch, unless I get a better offer.

Alicetheinvisible · 14/04/2010 12:00

Beans on toast with grated cheese and a cup of tea? Does that tick the ok boxes?

Tea - liquid
Beans - protein and one of five a day
Toast - carbs
Cheese - calcium

Had banana on toast for breakfast.
