Shiney Cult - how do you eat yours?

1002 replies

TrillianAstra · 10/04/2010 16:03

Sparingly we hope - with plenty of fresh fruit and veg

Spring is in the air and we are still here, on our 62nd (?) thread for healthy eating, chat, and of course the cult mascot (what better to put you off your food?).

The aim of the game is to post a lot, eat slightly better than before, and enjoy life.

Total, that was Defluff at the rubber ball, not me!!!

Fanny, your house and lifestyle sounds wonderful, how lovely

Just read my post back from before, I am obviously more tired than I thought, it makes no sense to me, it is tomorrow night I may be going to my friend's house.

Haven't even opened the wine! Though I have had a delicious smoked salmon, prawn, avocado and rocket salad (I do love Lidl for some cutprice luxuries ).
No-one to tell me off for the fishy smell, either!

Sazz, do you feel like you have put on weight? If so, put on your white skinny jeans () and look at yourself in the mirror. That should kickstart you back into your normally wonderful and inspiring ways.

bellavita · 12/04/2010 19:10

Fanny, your house sounds gorgeous - what other bits of work do you and DH do?

I have just had another plate of veg stirfry and I had a ww chinese meal to go with it. Feel really full up now. Might have some melon/strawbs a bit later.

Mitts, we do not buy fizzy drinks unless we have guests coming and I will buy a selection of say coke/lemonade/J20's for the non drivers - the boys are allowed one of these drinks with their lunch/dinner then it is back to squash/water. Mine have always drunk water anyway so I have no worries on that score. I do agree fizzy stuff does make them hyper. I was a bit cross at xmas with my nephew and niece because they kept asking for more cans of pop and then taking one drink and leaving it so it went flat, but that is a whole other story...

TotalChaos · 12/04/2010 19:12

sorry Lizzy about the rubber ball confusion!

five - you are making it sounds quite an enviable lifestyle - but it must be bloody hard work for all that, glad you are enjoying it.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 12/04/2010 19:16
  1. MINUTES. TO WATER. THE. PLANTS....

and the girls have carved up my cantaloupe melons like pumpkins... I don't get many flipping treats at the moment.

I am not a happy munchkin...

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 12/04/2010 19:21

bloody parents

i was asking my mum if there was any history of thyroid problems in our family, she said why, i said 'because i have something wrong with mine and thats the reason for.....' and my dad piped up 'your weight?' errr thanks dad, no its the reason i have been feeling so shit lately, but i feel even worse now i know you think im fat

bellavita · 12/04/2010 19:21

Mitts, tell them to go home or out of your house now.... they need to respect other peoples stuff. I would be majorly angry if that was done to my food.

bellavita · 12/04/2010 19:22

Oh Vinny, sometimes parents can be sooo insensitive. Grrrr.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 12/04/2010 19:24

btw did anyone watch great british menu? a guy a went to school with is on it, Aiden byrne, hes a top chef now

bellavita · 12/04/2010 19:26

Know any other slebs/top chefs Vinny?

hellsbelles · 12/04/2010 19:39

mitts - yanbu! Oh god - I have all this to look forward to.

Defluff - pray tell, how did it end up in your friends hair??? Is she very very short or was she on her knees . I love the TC/Lizzy confusion too.

Oh Vinny - he probably thought he was 'being funny' - dad's can be very stupid like that!

Alicetheinvisible · 12/04/2010 19:46

Evening

I made my huge bowl of pasta earlier. I needed it

Just waiting for DD to finish her milk, then put her to bed, do a quick tidy round then i have the evening (what's left of it ) to myself.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 12/04/2010 19:49

Bella - DH works for my brother tdiying up and rebuilding the Estate Wall, he quotes for sections and can take his time doing so when we are felling the pinch a bit he will do more work on that. I am organising my mother, do her books for her shop, filing etc that is about a day and a half aweek, just applied to be treasurer of a local British Legion. Friends asked me to be their bookeeper but they are constantly screwing me around so not even going to go there. Also doing my European Computer Driving Licence.

Happy news, we are meeting up with MrsW for a grown up lunch tomorrow.

VinegarTitsOnaDiet · 12/04/2010 19:49

Bella, i know quite a few slebs, the little town i am from has spouted out a good few of them

Lizzylou · 12/04/2010 19:54

Vinny, My Dad and brothers have always said things like that to me. Then jumped from that to "don't lose too much weight, it doesn't suit you"
It is a male thing.
From the pics I have seen you look absolutely gorgeous.

Alice, you deserve that me time

Fanny, sounds like you are busy, but to live in such a lovely house in such a beautiful place, it is worth it, I think? OOh, give MrsW a smacker from me.

I wish I'd been racy enough to go to a rubber ball

BitterAndTwistedChoreDodger · 12/04/2010 19:59

Evening all, did you miss me?

MIL's funeral was today. It was lovely, but my goodness, we all cried buckets.

Even DS, who is usually a hyper ball of energy must have realised the sense of occasion, because he was good as gold and sat still and quiet throughout the ceremony.

I feel emotionally exhausted and I have eaten terribly all weekend.

Bella/tracey - you have inspired me to give up bread. Watch this space.

Lizzy - My 30 day shred has arrived. I will report back if it's not too painful to type.

Everyone else - mwah, mwah, good to be back, hope you are all ok, I will try and catch up now - 17 pages - eek! No wonder I am always missing things.

I will be back to accuse you of in-jokes later

TrillianAstra · 12/04/2010 20:00

Hello, DP is still on a tidying freak, he wants clear my junk stuff off teh shelves and put decorative vases and stuff out. Weirdo.

Black bean beef for dinner (thank you Mr Blue Dragon - that's a sachet not a takeaway).

DeFluff you know you can always tell us about your antics and the Rubber Ball

OP posts:
bellavita · 12/04/2010 20:18

Trills - that is what I had - Beef and black bean, courtesy of weigght watchers!

Blimey Fanny, you are busy then aren't you.

Oooh get you Vin from a sleb town

Hi Bitter, at least you can start to look forward now eh?

MyCatIsABastard · 12/04/2010 20:24

Evening all.

I missed the shoe porn . I have over 50 pairs of shoes and boots and it is never ever ever enough. I loved the Autograph ones (can't remember whose they were though, sorry).

Sazz - you're looking fabulous and you will get back on the healthy train, I know it.

Vinny - sorry, I missed you have been diagnosed with thyroid problems. I hope they can control it for you. Parents are best ignored IMO, they always say things in just the right way to be particularly cutting (I have always found anyway).

Bitter - I'm glad (if that is the right word) that today went OK. Not a nice thing to deal with. And um.. what is the 30 day shred??

Mitts - YANBU I just know that I would have told the DC friends they had to go home as it was tea time. No way could I have stood them being around. You are v patient.

Fanny - your house sounds fabulous

I have eaten salad, ham, ww meal, ww pud (shared with DS), toast and Jam today. Not in that order or all at once. I am at 21pts I think (poss less), so under for the day. Also did 45 mins of walking today.

Alicetheinvisible · 12/04/2010 20:26

Trills - DH and i had this discussion a couple of weeks back. Yes, it looks nice to have decorative vases etc, but in reality we are not the sort of people to spend our money on decorative vases, much rather spend it on books, that is after all what a bookcase is for.

DD in bed, being very cute, now snuggled up on the sofa in my chinchilla throw finishing of the dairy milk mmmmm.....

Despite my rather lax attitude to my points, I have lost another 1.5 lb

Not the speediest of losses (6 lb over five weeks) but getting there.

Co-incidentally, the WW leader was cooking beef & black bean at the meeting tonight

TrillianAstra · 12/04/2010 20:40

DP just asked 'what have you been saying about me?' - so I think that's a no. Sorry Sazz

I now appently need to find a single fake flower to go in a green slim vase that I have (no idea how I got it in the first place) to go in the bathroom.

Waitrose order came, substituted a 500g thing of cherry tomstoes with one 250g packet, so not the cleverest people in the world, but generally okay.
