Shiney Cult - how do you eat yours?

1002 replies

TrillianAstra · 10/04/2010 16:03

Sparingly we hope - with plenty of fresh fruit and veg

Spring is in the air and we are still here, on our 62nd (?) thread for healthy eating, chat, and of course the cult mascot (what better to put you off your food?).

The aim of the game is to post a lot, eat slightly better than before, and enjoy life.

Have I stumbled into S&B . Despite Trill's kind words - I am rubbish on coats. I always get that bit wrong so I'll keep out of the coat debate (though TC I can say that the floral number is not a great purchase imo!)

DEM - just had a quick skim back - alas it wasn't me with the wood work skills...I think its yank. Lovely to hear you are getting a chance to enjoy DS. I find with DS it's like a wonderful knock on effect when that happens. If I start enjoying him he senses it and is better behaved and so it goes on.

at Shiney and her red hearts.

SAF - wasn't there an american sitcom years ago about two single mothers living together....I always used to think it looked fine.

Am I being paranoid to think the timing of this is a bit . www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2350/945241

You really think anyone has time to follow us? Wow, wish I had that kind of spare time.

Final bit of leftover curry (+brown rice) for lunch.

hellsbelles · 12/04/2010 13:13

yes we were talking about and I was just a bit [hmm} that that suddenly appeared!

Did you high five the nursery worker when she made that comment (or some sort of elaborate hand movement)...to show your 'street cred'

Lizzylou · 12/04/2010 13:14

OOh, DIB, why was I lovely?
Had I been drinking?

Total, I know why you are looking at lightweight coats with hoods, you're NOrthwest like me, aren't you? It still rains here a lot, even in summer.

DH and boys have just called me from the beach
DEM, it's good you are enjoying DS again, I go through phases as well. Like Hells said, sometimes they just sense things and then they act accordingly. Mind you, DS2 has been a right b*gger this weekend, one minute gorgeous, the next just v naughty, he is so bloody stubborn.

Cannot get into work at all.

Lizzylou · 12/04/2010 13:15

There is almost the exact same Converse thread every year on MN, fear not.

I want some but cannot decide on colour and need some dressier shoes more urgently I think.

Burgundy high-tops here.

bellavita · 12/04/2010 13:28

Hells, I want to know about your purchases... from the other day

I have a really nice winter coat - cannot link because it isn't in the shops now. I bought it a couple of years ago. I say coat, it is more of a long jacket but furry and it has a suede belt and big black shiny buttons. Sort of a coat that won't date I think. I have a cord jacket which isn't as summery as Shineys, but more of an autumn thing. My last jacket purchase was in French Connection and it is a bit of a bomber type jacket with long fur on the back and front and wollen ribbed sleeves - only looks good with jeans and boots though. At the moment I when going out, I tend to wear a long flowy soft grey cardy - no buttons or anything.

I am not a fan of that parka Total.

bellavita · 12/04/2010 13:30

I quite fancy these

agree with Lizzy re:converse thread. I think converse are such a popular well known brand it's sheer coincidence.

shiney - my good mannered self is telling me to say - oh no, you couldn't possibly etc - whereas the greedy devil on my shoulder is currently winning out, say oooh nice new clothes, yes please! So if you don't expect me to be a remotely deserving recipient, then erm yes please when you sort out your size 16 stuff!

lizzy - yes, I keep looking with woe at all these hoodless coats in the shops, these designers don't realise it's grim oop north.

bella - those Karen Millen shoes are gorge.

I have a pair of black suede high heels with black snakeskin on the actual heels - they are lovely and get lots of comments about them at work.

DreamsInBinary · 12/04/2010 13:42

Love those shoes
