Shiney Cult - how do you eat yours?

1002 replies

TrillianAstra · 10/04/2010 16:03

Sparingly we hope - with plenty of fresh fruit and veg

Spring is in the air and we are still here, on our 62nd (?) thread for healthy eating, chat, and of course the cult mascot (what better to put you off your food?).

The aim of the game is to post a lot, eat slightly better than before, and enjoy life.

I like those Shiney. Does he have a bit of a complex do you reckon?

I have ordered those shoes and that jumper I tried on a while ago (they only had the one in my size and it was snagged) - jumper is now in the sale. I have also managed to find a 10% off voucher too - happy days >

traceybath · 12/04/2010 13:54

Bella - gorgeous shoes. I got these in the nude colour recently. Very nice and very louboutin like but at a fraction of the price.

Total - not sure on the parka although if you buy Grazia there's 25% off new look until tomorrow I think.

DH did a 75km cycling race yesterday and is now plotting a 100km one - I don't know where he gets his motivation from.

Less than 7 weeks to my holiday so need to get my tummy flatter.

Bella - well done on your loss - its falling off you now.

Did you snigger Shiney?

Tracey - they are lovely. I know, but does this mean I cannot have bread ever?

MitsubishiWarrioress · 12/04/2010 14:01

Ooohhh...clothes and shoe porn..I NEED distracting...

I don't do shoes really.. Boots and ballet style pumps mostly. Pondering the 12th on that one. I might have to try and save a little for some shoes...... killer heels but will have to be wedgy or I will be like Bambi.

Have looked at Schuh.... ..yeah baby..one of EACH...

Right I am switching you guys off. I have to work so till later, xx

TrillianAstra · 12/04/2010 14:01

Those Autograph ones are lovely, very high though.

Today my shoes are red leather mary-janes (I think that's what they're called, round toe with a strap partway up the foot) with a sort of dark woodeny-looking wedge that makes them about 3 inches high. I love them, and I go tthem for about £15 in the Office sale last yr.

I do eat some bread but as we only ever have granary in the house - I'm not that bothered by it.

Now if I bought a lovely white loaf - I would be very tempted.

Unfortunately though for me to be the size I want its pretty much constantly being sensible regarding what I eat. I'm finding maintaining fine as long as I'm sensible in the week I can have a few treats at the weekend.

It is easier though as DH is a health nut so we don't have much unthealthy stuff in the house.

bellavita · 12/04/2010 14:04

I like mary janes, they sound lovely Trills.

Mitts, come shopping with me and Shiney and we will get you sorted with footwear.

traceybath · 12/04/2010 14:05

Trills they are very high!

I used to wear really high heels all the time but don't so much anymore so was to quote Mitts a bit 'bambi' like in them.

I've got some swedish hasbeens for the summer though which are a more sensible height.

I love mary janes and especially like red shoes.

I know deep down what you are saying is right, it is just a matter of readjusting myself with what I eat. I can do it, I have done it before and managed to be 8st for quite a long time... I always have skimmed milk, I always have ww bread, if we ever go out for a meal I would never choose something I really wanted, I would always go for a healthier option.

Bella - for me it was looking at my slim friends and just basically copying what they do.

I don't know anyone of my age who is slim and eats what they want.

However I do have pudding etc when I go out for dinner.

What I need to do is exercise though.

May try going for a run tomorrow morning before DH leaves for work. That would be a doubly good idea because he'd then have to do the dc's breakfast.

Yes, I agree on the exercise bit - this is what I need to do.

hellsbelles · 12/04/2010 14:31

wow at all the high heels! I can't manage with those at all. But I do love them.

I had to spend about 20 mins just cuddling DD as she was so miserable. Coughing and spluttering but tired. I gave up in the end and she is very much cheered by seeing her cheeky brother's face.

Awww SAF, you can be my no-DC buddy.
The boys are with DH and I won't see them until Thursday

I agree about eating less and being healthier in the warmer months (not many of those round here usually), am off out soon to stock up on salady stuff then the gym. In the winter I just want carbs and to hibernate.

Hells, hope DD gets better, but 20mins of snuggles sounds lovely.

Have done just the 20mins of 30 day shred, will prob not be able to walk tomorrow.

Am loving these gorgeous shoes, but I can't walk in shoes with high heels and would be far too tall for DH's (and my) liking.

Fleecy · 12/04/2010 14:39

Have been AWOL for a few days as had a friend to stay Fri/Sat then DS's 2nd birthday yesterday.

Goober do you live near Lowestoft then? I am in Norwich and get ridiculously excited when I find any MNers even remotely near me!

trills we have that Waitrose code too as we do alternate shops from Sainsburys and Waitrose. We're going to use it to splash out on some extra nice things instead of actually saving money. Suckers that we are...

I love love love clothes and get very excited by new trends as it gives me new things to play around with. Even if they're re-workings of old trends.

I also like Converse and have a black pair, althgouh I got some Ash high tops for £49 recently and have been wearing those quite a lot.

DH just got back from the gym and informed me he was 'sweating like a bucket'. Then realised his mistake

DidEinsteinsMum · 12/04/2010 14:42

lowestoff has a nice beach (if i remember correctly)

SAF - you can have some of my paperwork pile of doom to keep you busy if you like.

I have spent a hour on the phone trying to sort out something that should have been sorted ages ago.

Right am off. got to go pick ds up from school. Will not be back til later, try to not get too malencolly (sp).

Lizzylou · 12/04/2010 15:04

SAF, another one with Catholic guilt here.
It was so hard to leave them this morning, but I also relish my own space and not being fought over constantly (they see me as the "prize", so yesterday it was who could sit next to me, hold my hand, had to be right hand etc etc), I know I need to get stuff done but will also be partaking of a glass of wine once I am back from gym.
In peace.
Then I will prob miss them even more!
