Instructions - what is wrong with cereal and chocolate eggs?

YanknCock · 03/04/2010 10:54

MrCock has wandered in with candy bars (they came with the eggs from MIL) and handed me one. I told him we should throw them away. He said, and I quote 'we have to eat chocolate to celebrate the birth of our saviour'.

Have reminded him that would in fact be Christmas he's talking about, not Easter.

hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:00

at MrYank

ClaudiaSchiffer · 03/04/2010 11:01

at lie in

totally with you there MrCock

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 11:04

Birth/Crucifixion/rising from the dead, all part of the circle of life and definitely warranting chocolate.

A wise man, you've got there, Yank

Wasting, hope you feel OK. Only 2 gins and no Easter eggs? Are you poorly?

Wish Mr Yank would spread his Easter spirit throughout this town, moaning bastards only today

hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:08

Lizzy what are they moaning about? Or is it just general grumpiness?

Lizzylou · 03/04/2010 11:11

Hells, general grumpiness and colleagues messing up this past week.

I have decided that the next grouchy moaner I get I will say "Chillax, Jesus didn't die and rise and again for you to be shouting at me on this holy weekend. Go and have an Easter egg fgs"

My Mom would be mortified, apols to any that find that offensive, years of catholic education, you see...

bellavita · 03/04/2010 11:12

I give up a long time ago making my boys wait until Sunday to start with their easter eggs, life is too short imo.

I want to make that chocolate cake that BoF did - from MamaG's thread, but it seems I don't have the correct Nigella book. Will go trawl through some threads now and t'internet in the hope of finding it.

OP posts:
YanknCock · 03/04/2010 11:15

Lizzy, I'm with you. My own personal Jesus would be scarfing chocolate with the rest of us

Sorry customers/clients are being wankers today. Stupid to use a bank holiday weekend to be unpleasant to people who have to work. They should definitely naff off.

hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:33

oh Lizzy I dare you

Bella - I have two Nigella books with me...feast & how to be a domestic goddess - what's the cake called? I'll see if it's in here

bellavita · 03/04/2010 11:36

Hells - have found it! but thanks anyway. It is the chocolate fudge cake.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:39

sounds yummy! I haven't tried that one. WE have done the chocolate cloud cake (about 4.2 million times) - it's DS & DH's absolute favourite! I will try the fudge one for a change.

bellavita · 03/04/2010 11:41

Not sure if I said last night or not...

Jaq txted me and said that she is able to go to her grandpa's funeral. The Uni have stumped up some cash for her. Her relatives are hiring a 7 seater vehicle and sharing the cost. I am really pleased that she is getting to go after all her worrying about it.

Wahey

Just went to another WW group to be weighed and I have lost another 2 lb! Even after my hotel-breakfasts-biscuits-and-easter-eggs week.

Am feeling smug. Not as smug as our glorious leader, though, I bet.

YanknCock · 03/04/2010 11:42

Feck....have just realised DS is 2-3cm too long for the skycots on KLM! Have started a thread in longhaul travel. How strict do you reckon they are? Can we get away with it?

Yank, sure it will be OK

Shiney

Claudia will seriously be up for that in a couple of years would like DS to be a bit older before we do it. I love South Australia and we have friends in Melbourne.

Mits - I want to go and see Nanny McPhee but DD is scared of her Gin they filmed part of the last one on the beach down here. A friend of mine who was working for my brother at the time, siad it was slightly surreal chatting to Emma Thompson climbing up from the beach.

hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:58

yank - surely they won't measure him? Babies never stretch themselves out fully do they so hopefully they won't notice.

Bella - that is such lovely news about Jaq - thanks for letting us know

DIB - that's brilliant!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/04/2010 11:58

Breakfast done and cleaned away, bedrooms cleaned and tidied and brownies made with DD are in the oven. DS is snoozing so will get him up in a litle bit, then give them some lucnh and go down to my parents for a swim.

DD has the Gruffalo breakfast set for easter and DS a bunny and hva bought them some small eggs to do an Easter egg hunt with tomorrow.

hellsbelles · 03/04/2010 11:59

FAnny - DS used to be scared of her in the first film. But he went to see the latest one with my mum and he absolutely loved it (gave it 10 billion out of 10 ) how old is DD?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/04/2010 11:59

Great news about Jaq aswell.

Alicetheinvisible · 03/04/2010 12:11

Instructions - Superdrug have got a good load in, 2 for £2 cadburys/smarties etc.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/04/2010 12:13

She is 4, they are finally showing the Princess and the Frog in our local cinema (still has gas lights, the ice cream lady at the front, you can buy a drink and take it in with you, love seats in the back) so will take her there.

Chocolate fudge cake - really seriously do line the tins very well or you'll never get it out.

I had to tell our guests to go away last night, DPs friend was jetlagged in the way that makes you stay up late and I got fed up at about 2am. Apparently I am a party pooper, but the other one had already left and we'd drunk mroe than £30 worth of spirits and wine between us by that point.
