I can see that jet, but tbh i would worry too much in your situation. And smelly bedrooms is part of the teenage thing. plus it will be better as it warms up

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:53

thanks DEM, its good to have an adult to talk things over with, as both kids are on at me all the time to swap

and i love how you so adequately describe your DS

bellavita · 05/04/2010 21:53

jet - what about this?

OP posts:
DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:57

Jet - would it be possible to put a hanging system above her bed, so that 1, she doesnt have the high sleeper ishoos and 2. has more storage. It would be fairly cheap to construct something, and it wouldnt necessarily need screwing onto the wall if you are in rented accomendation. Although it would depend a bit on your ceiling heights.

TrillianAstra · 05/04/2010 21:57

I like the high bed Jet, especially since it takes a full-sized mattress - I had one when I was younger but it was quite narrow.

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:58

Could design (and probably build seeing as I now have a lot of free time) something for you if you are interested.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 22:01

oooh, thats lovely Bella I think she would have the same problems getting up and down the ladders though But, i definitely prefer that one to mine, so will keep it in mind - many thanks!

DEM, i like that idea. There is a normal double wardrobe in the room, so she does have some storage, its just bursting at the sides If i can figure out what to do with the rest (say if mini was getting a larger wardrobe, they could share)

I think i need an upside down high sleeper

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 22:06

jet- have to agree with Dem - you would be worried all the time if she was having to clamber in and out via a spindly ladder. There are some 'semi' high beds that have lots of drawers. So she wouldn't have to climb up much but would still get storage (not hanging) space. Does she really need more hanging space than double wardrobes . That is a lot isn't it?!

jetcat · 05/04/2010 22:11

I know Hells - we have regular clear outs, but she always gets clothes for birthdays and xmas, and since she was quite poorly last year and lost a fair bit weight, she can fit into all her old clothes as well as her new ones!

May have to try some new storage/rotation system though, as it is getting ridiculous

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 22:15

Jet - i think you might have missed my news. tis on fb. I am not as busy as i was In fact I shall be very un busy for a little while.

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 22:18

I can see why you are finding it hard Jet - just thought I'd google a bit to find examples of the kind of bed i mean and they are crazy money. I have to go and get stuff sorted for t/m but will try and google more later. And gutted to hear how your ex is behaving - what a master idiot.

Night all.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 22:19

night hells, and thanks

DEM, sorry if i have put my foot in it, off to FB now

oh no worries shiney - i am sure it will still be waiting for you tomorrow

Alicetheinvisible · 05/04/2010 22:23

Evening

Just been having a Glee catch up, so cheesy, but so good (or am i just hormonal?)

Jet - I nearly got a mid sleeper when i was 20 and living in at a job where there was not a lot of room. So i don't think it is something she would outgrow. Could you wait another 6months/year before making the decision?

Anyway ladies, i'm off to bed - Night

Oh, and Trills, will bring some chocolate cake with me tomorrow just in case

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 22:24

Yes and no. I'm a chicken. Sometimes i wish i had ds' fearlessness. Spoken to mum, so will just need to be active. getting the ad's i have put off getting so far. it wont matter if i am wiped now. I think being balanced for a week or two might help. And will allow me to try and sort ds out. Dreaded the offical notice bit.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 22:24

good for you on feeling a little positive DEM

SlinkyGoober · 05/04/2010 22:30

What ya all doing?

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 22:30

Sazzles, i am ok, just had to make some very tough decisions. Shiney was fab and did some straight talking earlier which has helped. Just need to not dwell on the what ifs and deal with the what haves.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 22:31

finding my impossible daughter a bed goobs

ClaudiaSchiffer · 05/04/2010 22:31

Good MORNING everyone!

Darling kiddies woke up at 5.10am this morning, so even thought it's not yet 7, we've been up for HOURS.

DH is off up north today and tonight to work so I have the night off which is actually ACE as we had a huge row yesterday and I think we both need a break.

How is everyone? I've skim read the thread, Jet how making your ex is. I hope you get the bed sorted.

DEM sorry if you've had bad news - am not on fb site.

Trills I would take those trousers, as am a shortarse but the postage to Oz is probably unfeasible.

Oh and after eating mainly chocolate all weekend (GOD I adore the stuff) I have lost 1lb. Maybe giving it up and eating lettuce was all wrong???!!??!?

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/04/2010 22:33
