Hello

I am bella and have about 7lb to lose now using ww.

They're not really size 8 Total, I am a size 10 in everything else, gap are liars, and I thought some of our more petite little people might fit into them better without having 2 inches of ankle hanging out the bottom.

Well done on the points saving MyCat.

Your ex is a twat Jet, but we knew that already.

I'm going to try to get into to work early tomorrow morning, so if we're not to busy I can sneak out for coffee with the lovely Alice and go 'ooooo' at the baby bump The reason I'm telling you lot this is that I find getting up early much easier if I have told someone else, rather than just thought it to myself.

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 20:33

Sounds lovely trills

I have a new trick for calming ds down. it is rather messy though...

Trills, they would still be too long on me even if they have shrunk

Enjoy your coffee girls - do an ooooo from me at the bump.

I coud try washing them again Bella - they only seem to chrink in one direction.

Charity shop it is then - someone's going to get a nice pair of trousers.

bellavita · 05/04/2010 20:39

jet am - that's awful! Hope you scared him into letting it come back to yours!

I still cannot shake my sinus headache - it will be two weeks on Wednesday. DH has suggested it might not be sinuses and might be to do with food intolerance. I've never had any trouble with food before but being so under the weather and trying to lose weight, I'm thinking about going wheat and dairy-free for a few days, then gradually re-introducing foods one at a time.

I'm not worried about the wheat-free thing. I already have porridge for breakfast and will just swap crackers or bread for oat/rice cakes, pasta for rice or other grains. But I'm terrified at the thought of no milk or cheese. Anyone else done it?

jetcat · 05/04/2010 20:59

am having a bit of a wobble on the bed (err, that sounded a lot better in my head)

you know the high sleeper one i linked to previously? Does that look 'old enough' for a 13 year old, or does it look more for younger kids? Junior does like it, but at that price, i would need it to last a bit longer than i takes for her to decide she has outgrown it

Is there such a thing as a more sophisticated (for want of a better word) high sleeper, that must contain a wardrobe?

TotalChaos · 05/04/2010 20:59

fleecy - hope your headache is better soon, sounds horrid having a fortnight of that. I have very little milk (in coffee) and very little cheese (easy way of cutting out saturated fats). will you be just cutting it out, or having to scan labels etc to make sure no traces? i've also had to cut milk and cheese out of DS's diet a few times (lactose intolerance after stomach bug). it's doable.

wastingaway · 05/04/2010 21:00

Evening!

Jet, what a wanker he is. Bless her.

Trills, bummer about the trousers.

Fingers crossed all poorly babes are better soon.

DS didn't nap, so went to bed early. I was to be downstairs before 8.

TotalChaos · 05/04/2010 21:03

the one you linked to is lovely jetcat, I think it will be more of a case of will she want a highsleeper style in a few times , than that there is a better more "grown up" one out there

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:06

thanks TC, does it look 'cheap' though? I want her to have a room to be proud of, one where she can invite future friends round. I figure if she can get at least 2 or 3 years out of it, mini (3) will then be old enough to have it, if junior doesnt wreck it first

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:13

Fleecy - it is doable. and they do some lovely soya based custard and cream which are low cholesterol. Where i struggle is the cheese as just dont get on with the soya base stuff. really dont like the texture. So it is my indulgance and undoing. Although so is milk chocolate and i have eaten enough for my intollerance to kick in and joints swell. Feel pretty shit but that could be a whole host of things really.

Jet, i got this one for ds but as things are currently it is my bed until i relocate. Perfectly grown up but have left the side bars off. So i think yours is not bad. but agree the novatly of having a high sleeper wears off. I am looking forward to having a normal bed again. Although I had a high sleeper all my childhood and teen years.

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:14

Jet - will she be ok to get up and down the ladder though - coordination, especailly when doing half asleep trips to loo might be an issue.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:23

DEM - i think that is why i am umming and ahhing, she can barely walk down the stairs without holding onto something, and that one doesnt have a hand rail - similar to a lot of other ones i have seen.

I think (watch out, jet changes her mind again) i may blackmail persuade her to stay in her room as that is where the sky box is, and i know she wont want to move without that I really really like http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10073977 this ikea one as i think it would probably last her a lot longer.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:24

posted too soon If she stays in her own room, there is enough room to get a larger wardrobe as well, which is what she really needs!

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:30

I have looked at that and considered it but at the mo my favourite is this

Fleecy · 05/04/2010 21:34

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go for cutting it out altogether at first - will need to start checking labels. Boo! I cook from scratch daily so I am fairly in control of what I eat. But I will miss cheese so very much!

Am off to buy lactofree tomorrow so I can still have porridge and cups of tea!

Fleecy · 05/04/2010 21:36

Am not ignoring bed stuff BTW - have no advice to give as my DC are younger and I don't know what older children like!

bellavita · 05/04/2010 21:39

My boys have these jet

OP posts:
jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:43

that is lovely DEM no worries Fleecy, i have the best of both worlds, a 3 year old and a teenager The 3 year old really wants the princess castle bed from argos with a tent and a slide I dont think i could persuade junior to have that one first though

just been back upstairs with her, and totally reminded myself as to why we were thinking of swapping rooms in the first place. The loft room doesnt have a vent as far as i can see, and is too windy/cold to have the velux open all the time. As a result of having a hormonal teenager in there (who has the door shut all the time) it does get a bit whiffy So the thinking was, if she went in the smaller room, she could have the little window open pretty much all the time, and mini is barely in her bedroom enough to get it to smell.

DEM, i did mention to her about going up the ladders - she suggested a handrail I think she is desparate for it!

Promise i will shut up now though, as i must be boring you all senesless

DidEinsteinsMum · 05/04/2010 21:44

FLEECY!!!! NOOOO!! lactofree isnt lactose free, it is lactose reduced. WHole different thing and a complete misrepresentation!

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:44

Bella, we did see something similar, and they look lovely, and a little more grown up than mine, but no wardrobe Honestly, she has way more clothes than i do, and is desparate for the space!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/04/2010 21:46

Flecy you need rice milk, oat milk or soya milk (but don't get that because I will rant at you) don't get the lacto free.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 21:46

didnt mean to ignore you either Fleecy Hope the diet changes work though i must admit to knowing nothing about lactose etc
