Hello

I am bella and have about 7lb to lose now using ww.

I don't think there's much chance that you are eating many calories in salad but you might be if it's roast parsnips.

I managed to shrink a new pair of trousers today - dry clean only? Seriously? That needs to be written in much bigger letters (in fact no letters at all just tiny symbols) as I would never knowingly buy dry clean only. Does anyone want a pair of size 8 (but really more like size 10) gap wide-legged black trousers with v thin stripes on? They're about 2 inches too short for me now.

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 19:08

I think dry clean only should be banned! I hope they weren't a favourite pair.

aw shiney - he sounds perfect apart from the the 'but'. But (!) I do love the fact he rung you to find out what he 'should' be doing.

Bella - on south beach (early stages of the diet anyway) carbs are EVIL . I suspect those (as Tracey says) are what are bloating you. If you can bear it can you cut them out for a few days and see if it makes a difference (and then gradually re-introduce). The other south beach tip is to stick to wholegrain/wholemeal bread, basmati (SP?), wild or brown rice (and avoid white). And [urghhhhh] wholewheat pasta. Can't quite bring myself to do the pasta but I really like the rice and bread options.

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 19:09

at chilli cottage cheese!!!

bellavita · 05/04/2010 19:09

Sorry about your trousers Trills.

Tracey, yes I do know what you mean about been slightly under goal weight... although I am not at that yet - it isn't a goal weight that I have just dreamt up either - Ideally I would like to be 7st 13 which I have been but I have to work really hard to stay at this, normal weight for me is more like 8st 3 which I find that easy to maintain, but I just cannot get there. When I say salad, I mean leaves, cucumber and tomatoes with a little bit of light salad cream drizzled over - the points of which I do count.

We don't have parsnips - I do like them but no one else does.

Unfortunately we have a lot of rice and pasta because of DH. This helps him enormously with his toilet habits because of the operations he had.

I am just going to have think about having something else then instead of bread/rice/pasta.

OP posts:
bellavita · 05/04/2010 19:12

I don't mind the wholewheat pasta - and I do already have some in. We always have basmati rice, DH wouldn't buy anything else.

I will try and do that for a few days Hells whilst I am at home from work.

Alicetheinvisible · 05/04/2010 19:13

Trills - were they the ones you got recently? I would be well pissed off. I can drop some chocolate cake in too you while i'm shopping tomorrow if you need cheering up

Bella - sounds frustrating

traceybath · 05/04/2010 19:13

Bella - what about quinoa?

Or I tend to cook slightly different food for me. So the other night - I had salmon poached with tarragon with leaves and balsamic vinegar. But dc's and dh had the salmon flaked in a cream sauce with pasta and salad.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 05/04/2010 19:19

TBH... I think I wouldn't be good for any man's health right now.. I swing from being relationship phobic, to being a hormonal, menopausal kraken-like unleashed nymphomaniac...

Thanks for thinking of me though Shiney...

BandT I hope you are feeling better now.

Bella, I am not sure about bloating and non weight loss..do you need to increase exercise slightly to reboot your metabolism? I do.

DC's at their Dad's for the night, I am doing a small painting for someone, and just generally enjoying the less frantic pace of life.

hellsbelles · 05/04/2010 19:23

Mitts - enjoy your free space and slower pace!

Bella - dare I tell you that on south beach (phase 1) it's two weeks with no carbs!!!! But I'm sure that you'll be able to tell if it's helping after just a few days and then you can decide whether to do longer or not!

MyCatIsABastard · 05/04/2010 19:52

I am just going to whinge and whine for moment, then it shall be all over

fecking fecking poorly children. Whiney, clingy, coughing, awkward, throwing up bloody fecking poorly children!

I am trying v hard to be patient with them but now its the end of the day, my dinner is nigh and I am hungry, it is wearing thin. DD coughing still, and DS just started coughing and has thrown up and is now really unsettled. DD was playing up about going to bed even though she is really tired. Both had their inhalers tonight. I really don't like to use it too often, but if it means we can all get a better nights sleep then so be it.

Anyway, whinge over (partly because DS has started crying again). I shall have my tea and be the epitome of calm loving mummy.

traceybath · 05/04/2010 19:58

Mycat - poor you. Poor dc's too but more poor you

God - there's some odd threads tonight.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 19:58

sorry about the trousers Trills - sadly i am not yet of a size when i could take them off your hands

Bella - my opinion for what its worth, i would try something different, to see what effect it has. So, if you have been bulking out, try doing the opposite? (did that make sense)

Shiney, can you not think of any blokies for me?

and, FFS, i knew the wii was too good to be true. Ex has refuset to let junior bring it home, telling her that she can play it when she is at his - for those 2 days a fornight. So, he now has a wii to play on all the time (he is a true video games addict), which junior has paid for but will not be able to play on until next weekend

MyCatIsABastard · 05/04/2010 19:59

oh jet, what a complete bloody wanker he is. Your poor DD.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 05/04/2010 20:00

Jet that is shit.

jetcat · 05/04/2010 20:02

mycat - hope you all feel better soon

jetcat · 05/04/2010 20:04

oh, i have told him in no uncertain terms it is coming home with her asap. Thing is, junior is too bloomin nice that she doesnt see a problem. Obv i havent said anything to her, other than i am surprised she didnt want to play on it all the time.

bellavita · 05/04/2010 20:04

Mitts - of course your are completely right in saying about the exercise, I know that will help too.

Tracey, I did a lovely ww meal from the website the other night and it was only 4 points, chicken wrapped in bacon with roasted squash, shallots and vine tomatoes - everyone ate it but I think DH could have done with more on his plate. I think I will trawl through the website recipes to see if there is something we can all have but tweak for DH.

Yes, it did make sense jet.

Thanks girls.

MyCat - poor you. I hate having to deal with sick children. Not so bad now though as they are older, but I have so been where you are now

Jet - he cannot do that, she has bloody well paid for most of it

(rolls on floor at thought of fitting into size 8 trousers EVER). but thanks for the offer Trillian.

what a selfish bloody pig your ex is, Jetcat [cross]

bella - agree with the others, the carbs rather than salad is the likeliest culprit for the bloating.

traceybath · 05/04/2010 20:07

Jet - you have to admire his bloody cheek! I'd have been furious.

Bella - that WW dinner sounds yummy. I'd have just given DH rice with that I think to fill him up.

MyCatIsABastard · 05/04/2010 20:11

Thanks for the sympathy everyone. I've just had my tea (roasted onion, courgette, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms with worcestershire sauce and spicy marinated turkey scallop - a whole 2.5 ww points, all is quiet upstairs and I am feeling a tad happier.

I just find the whinging and the (literally) hanging of your leg so bloody wearing. I am in no way a natural nurse!

bella, that meal sounds really lovely. Might have to give that a go.

I have today managed to have 18.5 pts. I am allowed 23 but am going out on Friday with a mate so am saving a few points up.

bellavita · 05/04/2010 20:12

How is Taya's knee Shiney?

OP posts:
bellavita · 05/04/2010 20:13

Sounds promising Shiney, especially given she has her residential soon.

We have just received a letter from school with regards to DS2's residential which will happen in June 2011 - £370 and they want a bloody £50 deposit before school breaks up for summer this year.
