Good news about the osteopath

fra - I have just looked at the Geocache website and there are at least 5 cache's in easy walking distance from you and quite a few more over the town.

We're off to not find another cache this afternoon

elliemental · 05/04/2010 14:14

I am embarrased that you all thought I meant I had a crap day. i re-read it and it does look like that. I meant I had eaten crap all day
For someone who doesn't like chocolate tat much, I don't seem to be able to resist its charms at the moment...

CoupleofKooks · 05/04/2010 14:41

oh dear ellie! chocolate is lovely though

lemur i am very interested in geocaching (c'mon, it so is nerdy) to the extent that i have already checked out the local caches and i know there are 3 in the park alone
but we haven't got a gps
i think the park ones are probably findable without gps, really, but i am nervous of getting started

pink when you are knackered you just have to get through the day any way possible i think
it probably doesn't help but although i also eat junk when i am tired, i am pretty sure it makes me feel worse in the long run
blood sugar issues and all that
hope you get some rest

avi that was good timing that you had an appointment

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 05/04/2010 14:45

sorry i was grasping at straws there a bit avi

well it's been an eventful weekend
ds1 has taught ds2 to say "daddy got a poo poo head" and now "you botty botty"

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/04/2010 18:39

Glad you had a good day after all Ellie

We found a cache today - hurrah!!

Fra - can you put the co-ordinates in something like google earth and then see whereabouts the cache is? You'd be surprised how well they are hidden.

One of the ones we couldn't find yesterday was the size of a 5p coin!! No bloody wonder we didn't find it. We haven't been Geocaching for a while so didn't realise that the cache's are getting so small. There are also some cache's hidden in fake logs and stones. Glad we have a heads up now.

banana
baked camembert (!) with ciabatta, grapes and olives.
Easter egg
chicken kiev with broad beans, carrot and swede mash, and cabbage.

Lots of walking whilst Geocaching this afternoon and feeding the ducks this morning.

CoupleofKooks · 05/04/2010 18:56

oh lemur good idea
from the notes and photos on the geocaching website i can see rough location anyway - apparently they are microcaches!! so not the ideal ones to start with

i have not eaten partic well today
am jaded after last night, and getting sore throat thing
ate some less than inspiring things because i wanted an energy boost
but some good stuff as well

morning snacks: mixed dried fruit including physalis (bit weird and sour)
pear
chunk cheese

lunch: mozzarella, rocket, spinach salad, tomatoes, hummus, artichoke hearts, crackers, mushroom pate
half a slice of chocolate cheesecake

then mad snacking all afternoon - bored and lounging and blood sugar going wrong
a lindor egg
chunk cheese
cashew nuts

dinner: pumpkin ravioli, pesto, cheese
more chocolate

i am standing in the corner with a dunce's hat on

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 05/04/2010 18:56

oh broccoli, red cabbage, carrots, sweetcorn!

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 05/04/2010 19:28

Don't be so harsh on yourself Fra. Lack of sleep is bloody evil and sometimes it just easier to grab the easy stuff out of the cupboard. Hopefully the sore throat is just from being tired - that's what happens to me anyway.

I think those microcache's are the ones the size of a 5p. I mean, really! I know you don't want muggles finding them and taking them away, but blimey.

We're going to create some cache's to put in the grounds of the stately home in our village - I'm stupidly excited about it!

I've never had mushroom pate. I think I may like that. You always have such nice veggie food that I lust after.

Is ds2 still bf'ing Fra? The boy is down to just one at bedtime and I'm suprised there's still enough to satisfy him - although I think for him it's more a comfort and routine thing.

Oh avi, well it sounds like you have new added focus
i need some, yesterday was not good
we slept better last night though, which always helps

ds2 is a milk monster still - especially at night - hence (partly) the bad nights
he likes to snack though, which i find quite annoying - a long relaxing feed is quite nice, but someone small and wriggly climbing on and off your lap shouting "VIC! VIC!" ("milk") is less so

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 06/04/2010 17:58

evening chaps
cereal etc
wrap with philadelphia, cucumber
granola munchy things
mini eggs (3)
rice and wild rice, quorn thing goji berries, broccoli, carrots, red cabbage

am HUNGRY
am going to eat a green and blacks cereal bar i think
and something else, don't know what

quite a walk to and from ds1's chess and skipping group
should really really do 2nd installment of week 2 podcast thing
but am feeling apathetic

OP posts:
ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/04/2010 18:53

Luckily ds never snacked he always had a looooong feed (it's how he got those cheeks!)- but I can imagine how irritating that can be........and then you feel awful for feeling irritated. Somedays I think, ok enough bf'ing now, then the next day I'm happy to carry on.

granola and banana
cheese topped roll, cucumber, tomatoes, veg cous cous, spinach and parmesan pasta salad, grapes.
Coffee cake - ooops.
Homemade pizza with mushroom, sweetcorn, onion and ham.
pomegrante, raspberry and grape juice - it tasted a bit earthy. I don't even like pomegranate but bought it because it's good for you

Skipping group sounds fun Well defo more fun than my afternoon. Ds was with his granny so I caught up on the housework

ThePinkOne · 06/04/2010 19:53

Skipping and chess? Or two separate groups?
Sounds fun anyway.

I weighed again this morning (after being up in the night with an upset stomach) and had lost 2lb since yesterday!! Hoorah!

I slow cooked a pork joint today. It was heavenly (sorry veggies!)

Right I need to go and repot my sunflowers and pumpkins then have another early night!

cereal bar
hot cross bun
chocolate

i feel a bit ropy again

yes skipping and chess - odd combination i know! it's a home ed meeting and that's what they're learning at the moment, consecutively rather than in tandem
they are raising money for BHF with a big skipathon thing - they are learning all kinds of skipping, double dutch etc, it is great watching them

dp left his mp3 player on the buggy hood overnight, and i didn't notice until we had been out for the whole day, and walked miles and stuff, and were nearly home
then i thought "the twit, oh well, lucky it hasn't fallen off / been nicked"
well 3 mins later when i got home it was gone

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 06/04/2010 20:47

good luck avi

ds1 is being abominable about bedtime since i started going out in the evening occasionally
i am not even out or planning to go out tonight and he is shouting and crying and having hysterics
i am so tired and there's so much i need to do
yes why i am sitting on MN when there's loads to do
well fuck knows but i foolishly thought i would relax for a few minutes

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 06/04/2010 21:22

dp is with ds1
feel a ruddy failure for not being able to get child to sleep as is too anxious
dear god

i am very tense about the Children schools and families bill
don't know if you are all aware but basically it is going to take away our rights as parents if they get it passed
as home educators we will have to submit to our children being interviewed at any time by the LA - without us present!!
we also (amongst other things) will have to apply for permission to educate our children - this has always been a parent's legal right in this country

anyway it has been months and months of trying to oppose it and get it thrown out this thursday it will either be in or it will be out, kind of sudden death
i am more anxious about it than i have been during the whole period

Hope you got some quality sleep last night Fra.

I know this isn't an answer, but you cannot influence the outcome of the HE bill now. It will be what it will be. Don't give it anymore of your headspace and energy until a decision has been made. You and other HE have done what you can, you can do no more. I'm sorry you, Avi and all the other HE are in this situation though.

You're not a failure. NOT AT ALL. Don't be so harsh on yourself.

Got to go, ds has just woken up.

CoupleofKooks · 07/04/2010 07:52

sorry for being maudlin last night

(on and off till 6.40 am )

OP posts:
iMum · 07/04/2010 07:54

Ok here I am sign me up-please.

I am 15 stone (5ft10) I must loose weight now, my ideal weight for me is 11.4

I am an occasional fish eater now (perhaps once a month?)after years of being vegan, I do also consume dairy but I am thinking of ditching the dairy in favour of soya but not sure if I can face it yet.

The diet for me starts here, we have decided not to have any more babies and so ive no excuse now! I feel disgusting and probably at my lowest in terms of self body image that ive ever been-I'm still breastfeeding my youngest (17months) but want to stop that when he turns 2, but I would really have liked to have ditched the weight by then too.

Am doing Paul Mckenna as it has worked for me in the past-fingers crossed as this time I mean business, If my resolve can hold out until ive lost the first "noticeable" amount of weight that will then strengthen it and hopefully the rest of the weight will follow!

CoupleofKooks · 07/04/2010 08:04

hi iMum - i must change the title as we are not all vegetarian, but really people from the 10/10 thread who like to eat a lot of fruit and veg - this obviously can help with weight loss (and hopefully general well-being)

i'm sorry you feel disgusting
really sad for you to feel that way at the moment
your body is amazing! how many children do you have? you have produced whole new people from your body! and you are breastfeeding your little one still - please try to feel good about what your body can and has done

That's interesting |Fran, as a parent at work mentioned this to me before we broke up.
Re HE that is.

Yesterday muesli
parsnip soup
Bluberry crumbl slice
2 slices of walnut bread
veggie hotdog (at party)
another bowl of muesli

That was atrocious really.

Today have had museli
sausage and veg casserole of peppers, spinch, sweetcorn, tomatoes and a ton of chilli.

Off out now so will probably have cake
