Welcom, welcome to the mumblemumble well, some large number thread for the healthy eating crew.

Shiney is our leader, but all creeds are welcome here, from the -50lbs club (whoop whoop!) to those who would like to lose 50lbs, to those who would fade awya if they lost 50lbs and just want to eat more healthily and/or chat about cock.

Thanks bella and norma!

Sorry hells, I'm not very bright you see, easily perplexed! I might even get me some of those sausages then.

Workwise, I love doing long copy and I'm actually much better at it than I am at conceptual stuff but there's not so much call for it - so I take whatever I can get!

Off to follow shiney's tip...

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:15

I used to love Delia, but then moved on to the likes of James Martin for his desserts... I liked Gary Rhodes too at one point and AWT and of course Nigella. I think my all time fave and who I would rate has to be James Martin.

Night Norma.

Fleecy · 03/03/2010 21:18

Can't find the poster in question, despite searching by name (said I wasn't very bright!) Which topic?

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:21

Fleecy, if you search the name and just put today's date in, it will come up, otherwise look under mental health.

Fleecy · 03/03/2010 21:23

Thanks - now going to look!

Fleecy - best way to find it is to search shiney's posts today (not being a stalker - honest shiney)...and you should track it that way.

I can't believe I"ve found a fellow 'long copy' admirer . Usually freelancers I used to work with were terrified of it!

Bella - thanks for the James Martin tip...and he can also be easy on the eye (when he hasn't eaten all the pies)...so that is an added bonus! Have you ever seen barefoot contessa? I was addicted to her programme but never actually tried to make anything from it. I was just so of her lovely house, her wonderful 'hostess' skills and how sweet and nice she was.

MyCatIsABastard · 03/03/2010 21:31

Oh FGS, I just typed a nice answer to everyone and the bloody thing disappeared!

SO, here I go again. Thanks for the sympathy everyone. Ear is a bit better but still bloody sore so prob back to docs tomorrow. Noone around to help (Mum has 6mth old neice for next 3 days, BF taking her mum in law to hospital for tests and DH skiing like a loony in the Italian mountains) so I've had a day of kids having convenience food and TV whilst I've moped about desperate to sleep. But we've all made it through.

I hope everyone is well. Ill catch up properly when I'm better but I'm probably going to have an early night now (I do quite like having the whole bed to myself whilst DH is away).

Good night all and speak soon.

hellsbelles · 03/03/2010 21:35

Cat - I bet the kids think it is the best day ever...tv and convenience food was my dream when I was little!

I really hope you start feeling better soon. Such a pisser timing wise that DH is away.

Sleep well

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:36

No, I haven't really watched her, I do know who she is though. My mum loves to watch her programmes and I bought her one of the contessa's books last year. Mum is also envious of her house.

Oh MyCat, I am sorry you are not well . Night night to you.

wastingaway · 03/03/2010 21:43

Alright lovelies?

I'm cream crackered. We were out all day.
Got some chutney from the Women's Institute ladies at the farmers market.
I'm thinking of joining.

I was heart-broken when AWT defected to ITV. Saturday mornings were ruined forever more.

I'm missing Good Food channel most of all since we went freeview only.
I miss Market Kitchen soooooo much!

Enjoy your early night MyCat, hope you're feeling better soon.

Fleecy, hope everything goes well tomorrow.

Everyone's baking sounds excellent.

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:46

Hello Wasting, you day sounds very busy.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/03/2010 21:50

Sorry, haven't really caught up.

Hells - I would say invest in Delias' how to cook, also my sister who doesn't really cook says that Jamies Minitry of Food is excellent. I also rate getting Good Food magzine as they classify everything as easy, moderate. If I can help in anyway I have thousands of good, easy recipes to do have taught a fair few to cook and will start again in Spetember when I have 2 to teach.

VinegarTits · 03/03/2010 21:50

im absconding to the lakes tomorrow morning, i am feeling slightly better headache wise so putting it down to stress

wont be around much unless i can get a signal in the loft again

you are all lovely

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/03/2010 21:51

My heroines are The Two Fat Ladies but only if I was a size 8, The Hairy cooks are really good value aswell. DH loves watching them.

wastingaway · 03/03/2010 21:51

I've done more out and about in the last three days than I had in the last three weeks!

I haven't actually secured a firm babysitter so I can go out yet, but I'm working on it and we're progressing slowly with DS sleep routine and I'm starting to enjoy the day-to-day a little more.

doubleinstructions · 03/03/2010 21:51

Am away to bed, dozing off on sofa.
Night everyone

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:54

Vinny, I am so glad you are feeling "slightly" better, slightly is better than not at all.

The lakes will do you good I am sure. You have had it really tough recently with no breaks at all on a weekend, I hope you have a lovely time.

Oooh yes Fanny, I second the Good Food mags - I have hundreds upstairs. I also have a food Delicious and Olive thrown in too.

wastingaway · 03/03/2010 21:54

Vinny! Go to the doctors!

bellavita · 03/03/2010 21:55

Night DI.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/03/2010 21:55

Vinny Doctor NOW

wastingaway · 03/03/2010 21:58

Vin, are you taking any vitamins?

My hands were cracked terribly, and I had cracks at the corners of my mouth, but I've been taking a zinc tablet daily the last week or so(?) and it's all back to normal.
That plus the spatone and probiotics and I'm feeling top.

I also bought some Evening primrose oil, but I can't get the lid off.

hellsbelles · 03/03/2010 22:06

oh Fanny thank you - if you have any easy family meal recipes that would be so helpful. I panic a bit with things that are 'last minute' so am much better with stuff that you can prepare and then bung in the oven.

And i'll check out good food mag - good tip.

DD has just woken up really sad and restless. So unlike her so I'm a bit confused as to what is wrong. I remember with DS who was always ill (one ear infection after another) that I longed for him to be able to speak and tell me what was wrong....and I so wish that with DD now as she is normally so content. I hope it's just teething. She has settled now but I suspect it's a long night ahead.

Better sign off and get some sleep while I can.

Night all.

hellsbelles · 03/03/2010 22:07

Is your dr a two headed monster? Please please go.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 03/03/2010 22:07

will have a look through and stick some on the recipe thread.
