Welcom, welcome to the mumblemumble well, some large number thread for the healthy eating crew.

Shiney is our leader, but all creeds are welcome here, from the -50lbs club (whoop whoop!) to those who would like to lose 50lbs, to those who would fade awya if they lost 50lbs and just want to eat more healthily and/or chat about cock.

HI all, you are very chatty this morning. I will mostly be spending the day faffing in the kitchen (in a fun way) as we have friends coming round for dinner and one of them is Spanish so I feel pressured. Not making anything very impressive, going ot buy some nice meats from the deli and do an antipasto type starters with nice oven-dried tomatoes and roasted peppers and stuff, then lasagne and then some little tart things with homemade lemon curd in them.

Alice that concert sounds like a great plan - having booked nice tickets will almost certainly make sure you have the baby a bit early

Well done on the skiny comment Lizzy.

Fanny definitely don't test yet if you're not due on til next week, it won't really tell you anything. Wait til next Saturday... Good luck though.

Sorry you had a bad night Yank. Excellent re: motivation though.

Lizzy, very exciting skinny comment!

Sazz, wow zoo sounds fun!

Thanks for the comments.

DS is 22 months, so I don't think it's really the milk itself, but the routine iyswim.
I think if I change routine to bring him down after bath and have milk downstairs, then take him up to bed, we could replace the feed with a cup of cowmilk. But while we go from bath, to pyjamas, story, grobag, boob then bed all in his room, there's isn't any easy way to replace me in the equation.

I've got DH work schedule (as far as he knows atm) written on the calendar now, so I can look at planning ahead a little.

One of the things that's really got me down is that whenever I find something I want to do, I have to factor in dodgy childcare. The only gym with a creche in town is very expensive and two buses away. There's a knitting group on a Monday I'd love to go to, but I can't guarantee a regular babysitter. I guess I stopped trying.

doubleinstructions · 27/02/2010 11:03

Good morning everybody!!
Havent caught up properly as have dd party today,Im nearly as excited as the b'day girl.
Bouncy castle coming any minute so will have to test it for safety
Have over-stated my somersaulting abilities to impress my dd so will probably break my neck!!
The party food is all done but Im so sick of looking at it (was up till 2am) that am not picking so far. Had a banana.
Probably should of had a couple of valium instead.
Wish me luck

MyCatIsABastard · 27/02/2010 11:19

Morning all. DS did another 10hr stint last night, then DH got up and fed him a bottle of 5am and he went on til 7.30. Marvelous. I keep having dizzy spells now though, I reckon it;s cause my once sleep deprived brain is now able of processing more thoughts than one at a time and is struggling to cope

I'm MyCat, I've lost 60lb but have stalled lately. I have, however, lost 2 of the 4lb I put on over my birthday last week (all that walking and swimming was worth it) so feeling much happier and motivated today!

Yank that interview sounds good. What have you got to do a presentation on? I find the best thing with presentations is to rehearse them loads, that way your not giving it to them fresh and you'll feel more relaxed that you know what you want to say. You using power point?
I've put an answer on your thread about EBM and bottles. What a bugger re DS sleep again. It was around 6mths that I started very gentle sleep training with DS. Have to say though, until a few weeks ago we were occassionally getting the odd 2hr wake up in the night. It does get better eventually. I promise.

I love the birthday cake sparklers. Will have to get some of them.

wasting, it's hard when you feel stuck. THis stage doesn't last forever but it is hard isn't it. What about seeing if there are any local MN meetups? I've met some (Sazz included) and none of them are hairy arsed bikers so far . I recently recommended millpond (a sleep clinic) to Fanny as they helped me no end and I think she has found the same. MIght be worth a look? I think your doing the right thing, btw, of changing the routine for him. That's what we had to do for DD and it worked quite well.

BoF really hope you feel better soon. My mum always foists Minadex on me and the family when we are a bit ill. It's a tonic and it does help a bit.

Shiney I hope your gran is better today

Vinny, loving the sound of the finnsters jam and sausage sarnie . Not nice of your XP in the least to not see his boy though!

Mitts, have a cuddle from me, here are some cakes and now sit down quietly and watch TV (hope that covers the looking after and nicely bossy bit for you). Hope you feel better soon. I am recommending evening primrose oil to all at the mo for AF issues. I find it has really made a massive difference to my mood and AF symptoms

MOrning Sazz. Have a great time at the zoo

MyCatIsABastard · 27/02/2010 11:20

Bloody hell, that was a sodding long post wasn't it!

MyCatIsABastard · 27/02/2010 11:22

And, meant to say, no friskiness for me last night after all. I went to bed at 10:30, DH came home at midnight and I was indeed doing my sleeping horse impression.

DH is away next week though (skiing in Italy for a week for work - lucky git ) so will have to re-frisk later!

TrillianAstra · 27/02/2010 11:24

Hi everybody, I am writing this from DP's iPhone!

OP posts:
MitsubishiWarrioress · 27/02/2010 11:45

Go Lizzy!!....go on, give us a twirl.

Taking the DC's to their Dad's shortly. Breakfast was good. Especially walking away from the washing up....

Good luck DI

BitOfFun · 27/02/2010 11:48

I made the mistake of clicking on one of mamaG's threads where she linked a recipe for chocolate fudge cake

It might have to be done...

Alicetheinvisible · 27/02/2010 11:49

Good luck with the bouncing Double!

Hope the weather stays ok for you Sazzles

Trills - We don't have to book the tickets because we annual members badges from DH's work and a couple of extra for each race meeting which is cool.

Have got such a painful stitch in my side, town was such hard work. DD is teething and won't stop grizzling even though we have just made chocolate easter nests and rock buns

wastingaway · 27/02/2010 11:49

Not another iPhone!

double, I have bouncy castle ! Have a fab day!

MyCat, is Evening Primrose oil good for hairy/infrequent AF/paranoid about PCOS symptoms?

I shall look up Millpond.
He's come so far from the nights of me getting four broken hours of sleep when he was 5 months o sleeping through now, but it's not ideal me having to be there.
It'd be simpler in a way if I wanted to totally wean him, but I want him to be flexible, which is a lot to ask from a two year old.

MyCatIsABastard · 27/02/2010 12:10

wasting, my mum swears it helped her through the menopause, and that was a pretty hairy time I reckon. I found this website with details on it, but there are loads more in google to look at

Worth a look at millpond, and ask fanny what she thought (Fanny - give us your views on millpond please). I think it worked for her but she may have differing pov to give. I found they helped me get clearer ideas of what I was doing wrong, were very supportive and gave me a framework. I could have done it on my own I suppose, but DD was my first, I was floundering and I needed that extra help.

wastingaway · 27/02/2010 12:21

Looks good MyCat. I checked Kellymom and there's no problems using it when bf, so I shall add it to my shopping list.

Lizzylou · 27/02/2010 12:24

Mycat, yay for more sleep. How come your DH is on a skiing holiday for work?? Good gig

Alice, my DH likes Razorlight, good for you getting freebies.

Another iphone . your menu for tonight sounds lovely, Trills

Double, good luck on the Bouncy Castle, you're not anywhere near Mitts are you? That sounds right up her street

Hells, forgot to say before, glad the back is better

Just had two elderly customers in, very lovely but hard work, he had a very bad stutter and she was deaf so getting all the info I needed was a struggle. They were lots of fun though (he sat on my chair and said I could go for a coffee, he'd take over for the rest of the day!). We need more of the nice ones, normally it's just whingers!

hellsbelles · 27/02/2010 12:59

Mycat - that sleep is giving you so many thoughts you are getting dizzy!

Wasting - I really really hope you manage to get some respite...I know how claustraphobic that stage is where 'only you will do' if that makes sense. And all the family around say - 'oh I'm sure it'll be fine if I do it' and then it most definitely is not! Sounds like Millpond is a good thing to investigate.

Also 2nd Cat on the evening primrose oil - it's making a big difference to my PMS.

Trills - that sounds very delicious...my favourite sort of dinner party menu (not that I ever get to go to any)

Lizzy - yipee for the skinny comment....all that spinning is doing the trick. And it's good that you sometimes get a nice customer or two....though I can imagine it took resevoirs of patience!

Mitts - is it the friend today that you described as 'chicken soup for the soul?' - very - sounds like you have a great time ahead.

Double - good luck!

VinegarTits · 27/02/2010 13:15

I had a brainwave and thought i might paint my bathroom to tidy it up a bit, have been everywhere and cant find the colour i want

also been food shopping and just had roast chicken with buttery mash for my dinner mmmmm

hellsbelles · 27/02/2010 13:22

oh vinny - that sounds utterly delicious!

MrsWobbleTheWaitress · 27/02/2010 13:43

Missed loads again!

I sat down this morning to read up and write a post and then I got stuck doing good mumming helping DD1 play on a WW2 game on the bbc website at 7.30am [ahock]

Just came on to find I never posted this morning

I've stocked up on multivits with added iron in case anaemia is present and stopping my recovery. I'm feeling better in myself, but totally exhausted - like the last weeks of pregnancy

Will try and have a good gossip with you all this evening.

Fleecy · 27/02/2010 14:05

Afternoon all! I finally gave in and weighed myself this morning. Still 10st7 so no loss yet but have had AF so bit bloated at the moment.

Am being very good today as I'm going out tonight and want to look lovely and slender. Porridge for breakfast, brown toast and marmite (no butter) and fruit for lunch, water for drinks. Sausage and mash for dinner will spoil things a bit but will have small portions of both with lots of veg to fill me up. And we all know there are no calories in wine, right?

Anyway, off for a nap!

MitsubishiWarrioress · 27/02/2010 14:08

Yes Hells, it is. We are going to see a local womens chorus and a quartet singing.

Vits and things sounds like a good idea Wobbles, I hope you feel revitalised soon...

Buttery mash....

I have just run back from dropping DC's off.... I might not be quite as fit as I was yet... but it was fun and felt good to be running.

Make an Apple Pie and I'm your woman BoF, but I take some convincing with Chocolate Fudge Cake....

Right...clothes on, tea and then time painting..

MitsubishiWarrioress · 27/02/2010 14:09

Oh, aren't you lot lucky...now you know I was MNing nekky

Lizzylou · 27/02/2010 14:10

OMG, Fleecy, yours is an impossibly good looking family! You are all so lovely looking

Hi Mrs Wobble

What sort of colour are you looking for?

I agree with Hells, your lunch sounds delish
