Some of it is healthy eating chat. WW, LL, food focus, south beach. Whatever ever the route, whatever the goal its all here.

Most of the time its just moral support and general chat... So dive in, post as much as you are able and have some fun...

Fanny - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - what wonderful presents. I wonder if you'll get to meet HFW? I heard a few rumours about him

DEM! I don't know how you do it.

I'm in a bit of a tizz as discovered a mouse (hopefully - rather than a rat) has eaten bitten through some of DD's toys in the room she is staying in! URghhh - we are here for a few more days. Don't think I'll be able to relax at all.

Waves to everyone else (I would love to catch up properly but I feel it would be slightly rude to be spending hours catching up while staying at someones house!!)

MitsubishiWarrioress · 19/02/2010 09:49

I am wearing one of DS's school hoodies with his nickname on the back..for some reason this is making me disproportionately happy. .

DEM I am free all day tomorrow....it would be fab to meet up, but I will be on my own. Just think DS's and I need some space to appreciate each other again.
If I need the wailing Muuuuuummmmmmm once more I will chew my own foot off.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/02/2010 09:49

Yogi, hope th epuppy picking up goes well. Did any of your DC's sleep last night Thank you for the thought about the present.

YoginiBikini · 19/02/2010 09:55

Dcs didn't sleep too badly, allthough dd3 woke me at 3am just grinning at me. They are now hopping around me

Am annoyed about the delivery

MW it makes me smile about the hoodie making you smile

Hellsbelles, ugh! Maybe it was just a very cute friendly tiny mouse though who has now packed bags and moved away?

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 11:06

Sounds good. cant promise da vinci ds is poorly which makes for not so pleasant time. But very self sufficient if you dont mind exploring xperiment at mosi. Makes for a good natter and he wont need entertaining.

Ds isnt on the sleep meds when he has a cold because then he sleeps too deep to clear the mucus off his chest and then he gets a chest infection, which means he has to go on the steroid inhaler which stops him from sleeping and makes him a nasty devil child. Something i try to avoid at all costs. hopefully this will just take a week or so to clear. Then he can go back on them.

He has had milk chocolate eggs for breakfast followed by cereal. I had chocolate eggs followed by bacon sandwich. the world is a bit better and the tv is parenting for an hour whilst a i do a little bit of work. Then an hour of parenting, followed by a trip out, followed by tv parenting for an hour. Then more lego. Its nice when he is this sort of mood as he cant breathe well enough to get up to too much trouble... then again, cant put anything past him.

Hells - Wishing you well for the rest of you visit.

tosser xp phoned last night to say he might have him next weekend, or the weekend after so no childfree weekend for me again, no wonder i'm fecking ill

TrillianAstra · 19/02/2010 11:14

Morning all, Happy Birthday Fanny (lots of birthdays this time of year it seems).

I have a healthy eating achievement to report - went to the pub last night and then came home and cooked pasta with cherry tomatoes and bacon v late at night, did not get burgers from the kebab shop.

Now 1 week since depo injection and I feel fine so far. Slightly spotty, but was due a period this week anyway (although haven't actually had it yet, it may never come). Will report if weight has been gained after 1 month. No increase in hairiness either

VinegarTits · 19/02/2010 11:20

Does depo make you hairy? hormones are funny arent they, when i was pg with ds2 all my body hair stopped growing, it was great! but now i am back to shaving my beard off again

PamelaTroglodytes · 19/02/2010 11:22

Morning(ish) to all

My broadband (installed less than a fortnight ago) is on the fritz, and 400+ messages on an iPhone could lead to me killing someone so excuse the absence. Will get into the swing once technology is restored.

Happy birthday fivegomad!!

Yogini - how very exciting to be getting a new puppy, bet you have a lovely day. Have you picked a name?

DEM - hope that your day improves

Managed fairly healthy eating yesterday, apart from a stray piece of leftover cake which forced itself down my throat on a trip to the kitchen

Dd woke at 3am after me only getting to bed after 2 so today could be interesting. I'm awful when sleep deprived and have an important meeting later that I'm having to drag dd to as she's unwell.

Hope everyone has a good day

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 11:23

Not sure but i know it can make you sweat more. Took a few jabs for it to make me psycho woman, and gain weight. Aparently weight gain is due to increase in appetite. Maybe that is why now that my body has normalised i am barely eating again and i am loosing weight If i get down towards 10 stone someone yell at me.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 19/02/2010 11:35

Hairy with green boils according to someone last week

What weight are you supposed to be DEM? You need to focus on putting good useful things into your body. No matter what's going on you'll feel better if you are looking after yourself.

MyCatIsABastard · 19/02/2010 11:49

Morning all. Just running in before I sign out for the day. Got loads on and out with the girls tonight for another birthday celebration (you have to string these moments when everyone is nice to you out!!).

Happy Birthday Fanny. I hope you have a fantastic day and weekend.

See you all later.

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 11:52

I should be about 10 stone but have had a near miss with anerexia in my youth. I went from one extreme to the other. TBH though i like my chocolate too much and it is unlikely that i will lose that much weight. Just my portion sizes are now less then half what i was eating a year ago whilst on the depo

Morning all.

Many happy returns of the day Five!

Thank you for being so lovely about the wedding, it was a few years ago now before gravity and the ravages of pregnancy and birth attacked with venom. I did see a bit of Gypsy Weddings last night and have to say I'm rather pleased that not only did I marry a man I had met more than twice (in fact the 6yrs of living together first means that there's very little we didn't know about each other and a small handful of things we probably wish we didn't know about each other) and I'm very pleased that I'm a hogroast and ceilidh in an old sheep barn sorta gal. I do find the travelling community quite interesting but their patriarchal values worry me somewhat, especially when you see it in context like last night where the pinnacle of your existence is a barbie dress and becoming espoused to a man you barely know. Of course historically it works for them in so many ways but you have to wonder about the sacrifices made to allow that and the unhappiness that could ensue when it doesn't.

MrsWobble, I'm right there with you on the husband finishing work late. DH is on earlies at the moment which means he leaves for work at 6am. He is supposed to be home at 5pm. He never is. It's usually nearer 7pm. Last night it was 10.45pm. Yesterday was a tough one for him. He's only been a police officer for 2yrs and he's pretty sensitive and can't leave it at work. Yesterday afternoon a chap had been to Boots, bought a packet of razors and then went and sat in the middle of the city (half term) and started slashing his face. . DH and the force padre just happened to be walking down the high street and were the first on the scene. In the next 7hrs, nobody would take responsibility for him. The hospital treated him but none of the mental health facilities would take him in, too much of a risk to himself and others for him to be allowed home to a family that cared very little and dh spent the day having doors banged in his face. In the end dh took him to the next county where they could offer him some help. Atrocious. It's upset dh quite a lot.

VT, yy to BIL being the best man. And yes, ridiculously good looking too. He and dh are very close. He's just got back from 18 months in South America and we didn't know he was coming. He turned up one lunchtime, poked his head round the door and asked if anybody was putting the kettle on. There followed a scene straight out of a sappy film where they dh and bil ran at each other, there were bear hugs, there were a lot of tears, if you listened very carefully you could hear the strains of swelling orchestral music. It's brilliant that they're all so close but I come from a family of manly punches on the arm and a firm handshake. I like to think myself peculiarly English.

Right, off to make meatballs ready for tonight and might even spend some time interacting with my child who is currently, er...

Oh.

She's on the windowsill.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/02/2010 13:18

Yogini is the poster whose last name started with L, she was being stalked so has erased all previous incarnations and is back under a new one.

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 13:26

Afternoon all - have to post and run as am at clients today and popping in for a sneaky catch up.

Missed the gypsy wedding prog as was working last night too. Gutted!

Happy birthday fivegomad

Diet appalling today while at clients - bacon roll and can of coke for lunch. Must try harder

VinegarTits · 19/02/2010 13:46

Fleecy you will be able to watch it on Ch4 OD

Blimey soh, how awful for your DH, and that poor man

MitsubishiWarrioress · 19/02/2010 13:51

Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhh........
blardy play dates...

they want me to be 'teacher'

I HATE ROLE PLAY!!!!!!!!

DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 13:53

Oh easy - ask dd to practise her reading to you ds can practise silent reading until dd has read a whole reading book. They'll be bored with it by the time that is over!

OP posts:
DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 13:54

else pretend to be an art teacher and get dd painting and ask ds to come up with a poster/something on the comupter that is graphical. He could do a presentation slide on how a coal power station works. then it could be emailed so save me some effort

good luck with that

OP posts:
DidEinsteinsMum · 19/02/2010 13:55

opps missed the play date thing. can you rope ds in to be teacher? or has he escaped to sanity?

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 19/02/2010 13:59

SOH - how horribly sad.

We've been good guests - DH made a beef and chorizo strew (with chocolate - sounds horrible but is totally wonderful) and I made some cup cakes....with carrot?! They are cooling now...not quite sure how they will turn out.

DEM - can you bear very dark chocolate? ...according to my south beach diet book that isn't so bad (as it doesn't have sugar)...so if you need to get a chocolate fix it's better to have some really good dark chocolate and you won't even be breaking your diet
