Just phoned the nursery again. DS was a bit upset so they took DD to see him. That has cheered him up (and DD no doubt, who will be feeling very important and big sisterish) and he is doing fine now. I'll go get them around 4pm and hope this is the start of it getting a bit easier.

Vinny sorry, can't find that other thread, but it made me feel a lot better. Oh, and just noticed it didn't link first time.

link here this time

chocolaterabbit · 11/02/2010 15:16

Hello ladies - its hard to keep up with these threads!

There was a segment about shag bands on bbc breakfast a little while ago which was slightly awkward because they couldn't say 'shag' (it being the morning) and couldn't show pictures of them. I don't think it managed to be the hard hitting piece of journalism it had intended.

We're having a bit of a hard week here. DS has a nasty cold which has turned into a chest infection. The poor little mite is only 4mo. DD has a nasty cough which keeps waking her up so not much sleeping going on. I'm getting through the day on cake bananas and will worry about the weight next week. Hope it doesn't get too out of control though

Alicetheinvisible · 11/02/2010 15:23

I'm not offended Mycat! It is so bloody difficult isn't it? I wish i could just bring my niece home with me for good, such a sweet girl and really good with the little kids. Makes me that i can't get her to see that she is very much like our mum in many ways, much as she tries not to be.

Have had a burst of doing stuff, now just having a quick Ribena break

YanknCock · 11/02/2010 15:24

jet, 52lbs! Wow!!! I hope I will be able to say the same in a year's time.

Norma, sorry you are feeling poorly.

TW, my DH read the Allen Carr book, stopped smoking and found it quite hard going after the first few days. He used patches and gum like crazy. The gum especially was getting a bit out of control, and it went on for a lot longer than it should have. I had to drag him in to a pharmacy so they could tell him the gum wasn't meant to continue on for over 6 months! (Plus he was chewing more and more all the time, becoming addicted to that!). However, it has a happy ending. He stopped smoking in July 2007, had a bit of a relapse in late 2008 when I had my miscarriage, but quit again and has been ok since.

Mitts

hells, ouch to teething pain. I'm dreading it.

Sazzles!!!!! well done!!!

MyCat, I'm sure snot loss contributes at least a few ounces. Will watch with interest on your settling DS into nursery as I will most likely be doing it in next few months....sorry no advice to offer!

VT, glad you're having a better, if slightly soggier, day today.

Alice, so hard to bite your tongue with family isn't it?

jacq, nice work on the essay!

YanknCock · 11/02/2010 15:28

Oh Mitts, the was for the cocks, if that wasn't obvious...

So far today, I have:
-done 2 loads laundry
-been to rhyme time at library with DS
-had coffee with mum mates
-deposited a cheque
-sold a gold bracelet at the jewelers
-bought DH's valentines card
-had my rings cleaned
-bought a sympathy card for my friend
-returned something to B&Q
-got petrol and filled up car with windscreen washer
-brought my and DH's old glasses to an optician to give to charity (we've both been lasered)

DS still asleep in carseat, should probably wake, change and feed him now that I've had a little MN fix.

MyCatIsABastard · 11/02/2010 15:52

Blimey Yank! Go girl!!

I have done er... um.... a bit of bugger all.

wastingaway · 11/02/2010 15:58

Afternoon all. DS asleep on me atm.

Got the doc to give us the right meds.

Sazz! Woohoo!

Jet, you've done amazingly well. You're over half way to 100lbs off!

Jaq, well done!

bellavita · 11/02/2010 16:41

STOP TALKING YOU LOT - SOME OF US HAVE TO WORK AND I CANNOT KEEP UP!!

Vinny - the Jackster was dry day and night by 2.6 yrs - never a wet bed. The Tomster was another matter..... he decided at 19 months he would not be wearing nappies any more but big boys pants like his brother which was all well and good and didn't really have any accidents during the day. Night time though was a nightmare and it is only in the last year that he has stopped wetting the bed - he used to do it constantly, but it got less and less. The last time was the night before we drove to Gatwick for our hols in August (he is now 10).

Bracelet sounds fabby Shiney

Well done SAZZ and JET on your weight loss.

I ordered two dinky little dresses which arrived at work today and one of them is nicer than the other which I will keep - just might save it for our "do". Have seen some wedgey sandals that would go lovely with it.

Sorry, don't know what came over me, sorry Bella.

Have had a shite afternoon, will take out aggression in the gym later.

bellavita · 11/02/2010 16:58

I have just agreed to go on a reunion in March with old work colleagues from my pre children days. It will involve getting train into Leeds lots of alcohol, lots of kissing and hugging and mushy stuff and then the train back and a taxi home.... > > think I might have to do ww online because although I seem to be doing everything I usually do with ww - the scales are not shifting.

bellavita · 11/02/2010 16:59

S'ok Lizzy

TrillianAstra · 11/02/2010 17:31

If you beleive... they put a man on the moon....

Lizzylou · 11/02/2010 18:07

Do you have music on at work?
How very modern

My boys are doing my fruit in, I just had to ring someone to make sure my voice actually worked, because they sure as hell can't seem to hear me.

Have both of them all day tomorrow as DS1 has broken up for 1/2 term. Please let it be a good day, when they listen and don't try and cuddle/fight each other constantly.

bellavita · 11/02/2010 18:28

lol at ringing someone Lizzy to see if your voice worked - I could do with doing that sometimes..... (mine have just been fighting upstairs - gah)

FlamingoBingo · 11/02/2010 18:33

Hello!

Sazzles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bloody well done you! Not in the slightest surprised as you don't look like you need to lose an ounce more. How far below 'normal weight' does that put you?

Jac - you're back! Yay! And well done for your first essay mark - 80% is fantastic.

I have music on 'at work', Lizzy. Usually consists of various CBeebies theme tunes...oh yes, that's not music, it's the incessant television at the end of the day

VinegarTits · 11/02/2010 19:03

Wow Sazzles well done, thats amazing, now can you send you resolve to me thanks

bellavita · 11/02/2010 19:09

Well, DS2 has just helped himself to the iron, ironing board and the basket full of clothes >

Had chilli with rice and a shed load of cabbage for tea. DH is on his 2nd bottle of beer, I haven't had anything.

MyCatIsABastard · 11/02/2010 19:25

well hello there.

Just popping in before doing the DD bed run. DS not settling well tonight but I think his teeth are a tad sore, poor lad.

See you later when all children will be asleep

jetcat · 11/02/2010 19:40

FB - sounds like my house, only we like a bit variation here, goes from cbeebies to nick jr, back to cbeebies etc. If we are really lucky we may even get to see the same episodes of peppa pig on nich jnr 2

Bella - do you hire your DS out for ironing

Yank - you've had a busy day then

hope they settle well for you tonight Mycat

me - i can hardly keep my eyes open - am so tired after last nights poorliness Think i will wait till mini goes to sleep and then creep off upstairs

so if i miss all the chat tonight, have fun

Goober · 11/02/2010 19:42

Relax everybody, I'm back.
I had a lush tea of jacket spud, tin of sardines, broccoli and sweetcorn. Bit of a strange mix but it was lush as I was so hungry I was gonna eat the dog.
I then had a bit of Toblerone. You may notice that I mention Toblerone a lot, that is cos I do. It is very important to me.

Night time toilet training: DS1, now 15, was 3 and 1/2 before completely dry.
DD, now 14, was 2.
DS2, now 11, was 2 and 1/2. Boys are worse, for sure. I remember when DS1 was training I used to set my alarm every hour through the night to get him up for the loo, then another night every 2 hours, 3 hours etc. until he was all dry.
