FB - we are all here if you need us

Ok, so turns out i am possibly not just dehydrated as i have just covered the bathroom in sick (sorry tmi) and not in a ms kind of way. I am a bit suspicious that i caught something from the hospital yesterday as they are currently closed to visitors due to a vomiting bug could just be a coinincidence of course....

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 02/02/2010 11:29

FB - I always think a bit of self help is a good thing, means your taking control. Having said that, do go to the dr if you think you need it. It's not a failure to admit you need help, it's the first step in getting well again. Yes, it'll be Cheltenham, a company called 1st - The Exchange, deal in financial services software. It's a maternity cover.

Have to admit, I'm with you on the Thai and Chinese food, having said that I also like Indian, Italian and French food. You may be getting a picture as to why I have had to lose 4 1/2 stone and still got a couple to go!

Alice - Oh no! Keep an eye on yourself and call the doc or MW if your sick too much.

Sod! DS has woken up earlier than I wanted him to from his nap. He's got nursery this afternoon and I like him to have a really long sleep before hand so he doesn't get too tired and unsettled there! DAMN! Oh well, such is life.

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 11:37

Oh Alice Hope you get well soon - and make sure you drink lots and lots of sips of water.

Alicetheinvisible · 02/02/2010 11:39

Just looked it up and the hospital has got Norovirus I had better not have caught it. I normally have a very healthy immune system but i think being pg has suppressed it.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 02/02/2010 11:42

Alice that's a bugger isn't it. Give your doc a quick ring, just to make sure you'll be OK with it and the pg.

Ignoring DS isn't working. I'm going to have to get him up!

Lizzylou · 02/02/2010 12:28

Alice, yes ring your MW or GP just be on the safe side and keep drinking water.

Flam, hope today gets better for you, MyCat is right, it is not a weakness to ask for help. We're all here.

Mycat, stop panicking, a woman of your wit and charm will blow their socks off

Work is suddenly picking up, which is great news. But I seem to be dealing with all of the admin type stuff as my Business Partner cannot do it at all. Which means i get bogged down and then can't do any other stuff. This is why I was peed off, I just seem to spend my life pandering to males, at home and at work grrr.

Anyhow, back to it!

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 12:38

Well I'm doing well today, I think, considering black dog is firmly ensconced in our house today. The girls have been fab. We're just waiting for our bread to prove before we put it int he oven for lunch. We've also made the bath bombs that the older two bought the kit for yesterday at @Bristol. Just got to keep going for 10 more hours.

SO much easier when DD4 is asleep though - I sometimes wish she'd sleep through the next couple of years . DD3 is so much easier now she's 3.

bellavita · 02/02/2010 12:43

Oh no alice, hope you feel better soon.

I have been given two pieces of cake today (separate occasions) . A huge fat piece of chocolate cake as it is a colleagues birthday and a piece of cake from some else who I normally give brownies to (it was her husbands 50th over the weekend and she has brought me a piece of cake in).

iggi999 · 02/02/2010 12:44

Hullo everyone. Sorry things not going well for quite a few of you. Has anyone heard from Norma, bit too soon I suppose.
Toddlers and depression don't sit well together do they, I hope at least you get the evening to yourself Famingo. You sound like you're doing well with the baking 'n' making, I'm more of a stick-cbeebies-on person I'm afraid

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 12:45

That's nothing, Bella. I still have 1/3 of a huge chocolate tart in the fridge, with some extra thick double cream to go with it. I am desperate to scoff the lot! I'd then have to try to lose my nearly 2 stone all over again though!

iggi999 · 02/02/2010 12:45

Hope you get reassurance from you doc Alice. Is that sickness virus the one that (looking for a bright side) does pass really quickly, so you shouldn't be feeling bad for too long? Really hope so.

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 12:48

I was just thinking about Norma, iggi.

I do lean towards the tv for the DDs, Iggi, but, being an HEor, they'd spend their lives doing it if that was my default thing 100% of the time! I at least have to look like I'm doing something wholesome with them!

bellavita · 02/02/2010 12:50

I am just going to look at the cake for now

Alicetheinvisible · 02/02/2010 12:51

Feeling a bit better, so hopefully it is just a 24hr bug thing. The Norovirus lasts a couple of days and you are still contagious/infectious for another 72hrs, so hoping it's not that. Can't get hold of Dr (or DH for that matter)

Cbeebies has been on here nearly all morning

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 12:53

I think that all day long cbeebies is definitely allowed, if not compulsory, when Mummy is ill, Alice!

It just doesn't work in our house anymore - girls are too old and get irritable and bicker and that just makes everything worse! The only thing that keeps things ticking over is my near-constant involvement until they suddenly get the 'playing' bug and all rush off upstairs for an hour or so.

I now have the 64 zoo lane theme tune going round in my head
Have spent all morning in bed (you may be jealous) having decided I needed another day off work. First day back yesterday went fine on the surface, but I came so near to punching some people who were demanding the things I'd not done through being off last week! Glad everyone at work doesn't know about mc, but it has its down side too.
Off to look for something with chocolate on it. Think there's a jaffa cake under the sofa.

GooberHasBookedHerHols · 02/02/2010 13:12

Have you seen THIS?

jaq - so sorry - I forgot to wish you happy birthday! can't wait to see your hair pic.

Alice - that is rubbish - poor you. I get completely OCD if I got to hospital or the drs about anything. I take all those handwash things and use them constantly. Probably doesn't make any difference - but most hospitals seem so dirty now. I and a mini rotovirus early on in pregnancy with DD and it didn't have any bad effects on her so try not to worry too much (but agree check with your dr). It's better than getting it later on - when too much vomiting can cause real problems.

Cat - nerves are good - I always think that excitement and energy comes across well in interviews.

Flam - you really must have the patience of a saint doing home ed. I cannot fathom how you can do it...but take my (imaginary) at off to you.

So I had Chicken salad (for the millionth time) for lunch and have some blueberries to munch on. Oh the joy

VinegarTits · 02/02/2010 13:24

Happy birthday Jaq! i want to see pics of your new hair? (cant get on fb in work)

wastingaway · 02/02/2010 13:38

I've been so busy! Thrilling evening of sorting through paperwork, which I will shred tonight. And we've been to the market this morning.

I hope everyone's day ends better than it started.

Oh yes, I'm wastingaway, and my belt is two notches tighter than it was a month ago.

Has jac updated her profile pic yet? I want to seeeee!

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 13:43

Apart from work being shitty, how are you now, Iggi?

Hells, I can confirm that I do not have the patience of a saint at all. I just can't be arsed with making packed lunches and getting all four ready by a specified time every day

Seriously, the other day when I took just the older two to badgers, I forgot something and just thought that I'd forget things every single day if I had them in school. I actually really admire people who manage to get all their children dressed and breakfasted with a packed lunch and all in school on time every day, and then wrestle with homework and tired children in the evening, once you've collected them (on time as well!).

wastingaway · 02/02/2010 13:49

Bread and bath bombs sounds like sooo much fun though Flamingo. I want to go to school at your house.

iggi999 · 02/02/2010 13:49

I'm ok thank you, physical stuff over I think, just a bit "raw" and prefering to hide in house whenever possible - and trying not to get too obsessive about ttc..
Sent wedding invitations out yesterday which feels very flat, iyswim.
As teacher I cannot imagine patience required to home ed - at least I don't see have to put to bed the same children who had me pulling hair out during the day!
