The thing is, though, Norma, a lot of my days seem to be shit right now

Lizzylou · 02/02/2010 15:53

OK FB, how can we help you get through until bedtime?
What time is bedtime?
What do you need to do before then?
What treat can you have once it's just you awake? A nice hot bath? Glass of wine? Good book?

I wouldn't ask your DH to come home, I think if you manage to get through today you'll feel great with yourself.

bellavita · 02/02/2010 15:53

I ate the bloody chocolate cake . It was looking at me . However, I would have had 4 points left over today and if I don't have my banana that is in my work drawer and the sweet potato mash tonight with my tea (which I was looking forward to) then I just might claw back the points.

wastingaway · 02/02/2010 15:59

I've just added everyone from the cult I didn't already have as friends on FB.

Flamingo, Lizzy's right.

Break it down into what needs to happen and when. Like a roast dinner.

You can do it.

Lizzylou · 02/02/2010 16:05

Wasting's right, of course you can do it, Flam.
You HE 4 DD's, blimey, that makes me weep a little even thinking about it. You are fab

Bella, don't worry about the cake (did you enjoy it?) just fiddle the points for the remainder of the day, as you say. Or do a loads of star jumps?

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 16:09

I know I can manage it, it's just such a long time away that I can get them all in bed! It's just frozen pizza for supper (well, I'll cook it first of course! ) so that's really easy.

DH texted just now and said he wanted to come home after work. Not sure what to respond now. How important are these work socials, do you think? He's not angling for promotion at all, but he's very aware that most men don't 'get' him and why he likes to spend time with his family.

Lizzy you're lovely. Not much HE going on today, it has to be said. But then they did enough learning for a month yesterday so I'll let myself off the hook.

In fact, you're all lovely.

jetcatisfrozen · 02/02/2010 16:09

yay Norma

Hugs to Iggi, Alice, FB and anyone else who wants one

I must admit to having it quite easy in the home ed stakes - if anything, i have to stop junior from studying! All day she has been working on food and digestion, wrote about 6 pages of work and did GCSE bitesize

I hope shes not going to wear herself out Got a big trip planned for next week though, up to the Baltic Art Gallery in Gateshead - it is free so thought we may as well! Just need to try and figure out how we can make it educational

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 16:11

Will she only go if it's 'educational' Jet?

Art is education, isn't it? Can she do a project about the things you'll see?

Lizzylou · 02/02/2010 16:12

Flam, it may be good for him to go.
I would text something back like, "Oh you'll enjoy it once you are out", or something breezy like that.
It is lovely that he such a family man, so many aren't, you've got a good un there.

Jet, Junior sounds like she is swotting up for the Oxbridge exams. How lovely that she wants to learn so much, that is great.

Spag Bol for dinner, having mine early as am off to the gym. Though really just want to go to bed.......

MitsubishiWarrioress · 02/02/2010 16:15

FB...have him come home. He went last week and it sounds like you are both want to be with each other.

There will be others.

I kinda wish there was someone 'coming home' tonight. Just one of those days. I am kick boxing.

Enjoy it. Make a fuss of each other after the DC's have gone to bed. Play silly scrabble or have a pillow fight. Watch a movie. we love you and want you to be OK Flam.. it will get better lovey. (( ))

wastingaway · 02/02/2010 16:16

They prob have educational info on the art gallery website Jet. Does she like doing art and crafts?

MySkinnyJeansChallenge · 02/02/2010 16:17

Hi

I started a new eating and exercise plan so far I have lost 4 1/2 pounds in 14 days

I have lost 1/2 an inch of my waist and 1 1/2 inches off my spare tyre that hangs over my skinny jeans.

I will get my weight off and well done to everyone who is trying, you look like you are doing really well.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 02/02/2010 16:21

Hello all,

Nothing like a bit of D&V for weight loss. Up all night, was feeling OK today but the thought of making the DC's tea and feeding the dog is making me feel very ill again, so going to hide. Should be a good weigh in tomorrow

Lizzylou · 02/02/2010 16:24

Fanny

Well done Skinnyjeans, are you joining us?

Flam, now I'm worried I've advised the wrong thing
Just you and your DH do what is best for you and will make you happy.

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 16:24

Hi Skinny Jeans - welcome!

Jet - Wasting's right. Always go on the websites of places your visiting for educational ideas. They might have a pack or somethign you can download or colelct when you get there.

Mitts, you're amazing. I can't fathom what it must be like being a single mum. I'm such a wuss.

wastingaway · 02/02/2010 16:25

Oh Five! Hope you feel better soon.

MySkinny, that's really great going, well done.

I need to get going. I've done nowt for about three hours.
Apart from change a nappy and feed Pombears to a snuggly toddler.

FlamingoBingo · 02/02/2010 16:27

Oh Fanny

Lizzy - I will just see how I feel when he normally leaves for home at 6 and text him then.
