Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

Shiney, why do you have to wait until I retire for the evening to tell your fantabulous tales...

Hiya Jaq - glad to see you back.

After my initial 1.5 loss last week, I have lost zilch, nada chuffing 0 this week >

Right, catch up with you all later, need to tidy, shower and nip out before I go to work.

Bella, me neither! I feel slimmer, clothes are loser but the scales haven't budged.
Ho hum. We'll be "big losers" next week Bella.

Shiney, you are funny, all these wierd men!

My Mom is on Match.com and has had some howlers, but met some lovely men as well.

MyCat, we seem to suffer from the same foot in mouth disease! At least you were just tired and hungover, I have it constantly

DEM, loving the snow reindeer.

Have good days all.

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/01/2010 08:23

Morning all..

Gritted teeth start to the day... .

But at least there is no snow so the schools are open!!

I am officially going to try and be good this week , so back to exercise, water and fruit/nuts, the weight is sitting unmoved and I am just being lazy and complacent.

So.... [determined emoticon] watch this diminishing space. Oh and I am 11st 2 right now so I can't pretend.

hellsbelles · 18/01/2010 08:29

shiney you have brightened up my morning.

Shite night as DD has a cold - which she is not coping with very well. Had to pace round with her for 45 mins (arm muscles now very very strong), swaying her in an exact way, to stop the screaming. Everytime I tried to sit down with her...cue more screaming. Finally the calpol kicked in but she woke more times than I can count. She is all smiles today but with those horrid snot rivers everytime she sneezes!

My DM meet her chap (not my dad!) on internet dating. And they are really really happy. She did lie (massively) about her age though online....she looks a good 10-15 years younger than she is

DreamsInBinary · 18/01/2010 08:37

Morning all

Yet another new start for me this week.

I am going to concentrate on just four weeks of being good, because I know that as soon as I lose weight, it will motivate me to continue. I reckon I could lose 1/3 to 1/2 stone in four weeks, no?

SOuth Beach book has arrived, so will read tonight [inspired by the Souther Beachers on this thread emoticon]

WhereChaosTheoryRules · 18/01/2010 09:00

morning. iam sending my sympathies to all the poorly people. i woke up to a sinus headache and feel crap. have day off but car needs to go to garage so having had an extra hour in bed asleep. i am going to drag my sorry ass out of bed and move.

hellsbelles · 18/01/2010 09:03

Dreams! A couple of things on the southbeach. Don't weigh yourself for about a week as you will get depressed (the weight loss is stagnant for the first week and the suddenly you start shrinking). I reckon (going by my own results) you should lose at least 1/2 a stone in two weeks if you follow the diet properly. And perhaps another 3 or 4 pounds in phase 2 (the following two weeks).

Also just look through the recipe ideas & food sugestion list (i.e. what to avoid and what you can have) - don't get stuck on following his exact plan every day or you'll go crazy.

For instance I ended up having the same salad every lunchtime cause it was easy and I liked it: I had sliced roast chicken breast with cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mixed salad and olive oil & balsamic dressing. It sounds boring but for some reason I love it! I can't remember whether it says unlimited olive oil in the book but I never bothered measuring that.

Also don't cheat on the booze if you can help it. I did for one day only (had 2 glasses) but others I know said - 'oh I just carried on with drinking' and they didn't get very good results.

oh dear - DD needs me.

iggi999 · 18/01/2010 09:14

Morning all.
Just set one of Mits's paintings as my desktop background, but might not wondering - is that disrespectful to an artist? Not showing it in right form etc. It just really makes me smile [pathetic emoticon]

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/01/2010 09:28

Oh iggi that is so fab of you and has really made me smile on the inside...of course it's ok!

In fact the lovely compliments about my paintings has helped pick me up from what had been a bad week. It really made a difference because my painting is such an important part of 'me' and it is easy to lose sight of it sometimes...so a big thanks..

Jaq..must be frustrating to have to start again but you KNOW you can do it so get on here as often as you can and we will cheer you along.

I like both your names Chaos/DEM, but chaos a little more because I imagine you as a sexy super hero from the X men!!

DS said he was sorry before he went to school, and that is such a big thing after all he has been through. He is a star!

VinegarTits · 18/01/2010 09:36

I just posted and it has disappeared into thin air, so will try again

Morning

Mitts your paintings are Fab, you are very talented

I am still full of cold, just want to go to bed

hellsbelles · 18/01/2010 09:41

Mitts - don't desert us when you are rich and famous and hobnobbing with the stars

MitsubishiWarrioress · 18/01/2010 09:48

I have had the plumber in.....

I think Shiney has changed the whole meaning of that statement for ever...

But the landlords are moving a radiator for me because the ground floor is so cold and it is in the wrong place where it is...they are so lovely, friends and neighbours also. They have also given me a roll of Astro Turf to do the bathroom Floor with ....DS is thrilled, he wants a football themed bathroom and DD wants Gerberas!!

TrillianAstra · 18/01/2010 09:50

If Mitts has too many hobnobs with the stars she'll need us

Poledra · 18/01/2010 10:04

Morning all
Had such a lovely weekend - you know, one of those where you don't really do anything, but you get to Sunday night and wish that things could always be like that? I think maybe it was DD3 sleeping all through the night on Saturday night that made me feel so positive

The light-fitting for DD1's new bedroom arrived, and DH has cracked on with fixing the window and finished the sanding. So now I can get to washing down the walls (which I can do when the DDs are in bed) and we might even get some paint on it. Does anyone have any good ideas for furniture? It's a small room with a sloping ceiling (not high enough to have a midsleeper or anything in) and I was thinking about having white furniture, so that it doesn't get too dark. All ideas gratefully accepted! Oh, and it's an old house, and gets very grumpy about anything too modern

Mitts, I want Parade!! (OK, house is forced to accept modern art). I think DH would kill me if I bought any more pictures though - despite the fact I am a scientist who struggles to draw the curtains never mind anything else, I love buying original paintings. Many years ago, DH (then DP) bought me a painting from a friend's final year show, which he hates but bought because I love it. I'm not allowed to have it in the livingroom, but it hangs at the bottom of the stairs so every time I come down the stairs I see it. I probably look at it more there than if it was in the livingroom, TBH.

Will stop wittering and get on with some work now.

Poledra · 18/01/2010 10:06

Actually, Mitts, as I posted, I thought 'It's my 40th birthday this year! DH can't object to another painting for my 40th!' Is it too rude to ask how much your work costs? Would you prefer me to go through your website? I don't do facebook though............

hellsbelles · 18/01/2010 10:09

poledra - wow - it's all coming together.

Dreams - just remembered - other thing that helped me on the diet was dry roasted (not salted) peanuts - I think you are allowed 20 a day and waitrose do nice ones. And babybel light which I think are a bit nicer than the dairylea triangles. And if your budget can stretch to it prawns in a few slices of baby gem lettuce as a snack or the light mozzeralla (with dressing) are also nice snacks.

I'll stop rambling now...I think it's lack of sleep that's made me go a bit mental

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 18/01/2010 11:04

Good Morning. I have slept and therefore hopefully removed my feet from my mouth (Chaos, you are very understanding) and should now be able to converse without annoying anyone.

Mitts - I was wondering about how much your paintings cost. I shall go through your website to find out.

Shiney - you seriously should write a book. You are very funny.

This is my last month of 30's as I am 40 in exactly 1 months time. I shall be spending this month in a determined effort to lose 7lb and get fitter so that when I land at 40 towers I will be feeling better than I've felt in years.

Alternatively I could drink and eat my way there ...

YanknCock · 18/01/2010 11:05

Morning all.

Weigh in day today, have lost 1.4 lbs this week. MrCock has lost 1 lb. (Yes, I force him to weigh in with me and deny him creme eggs. I am a bitch.)

So that's 1/2 a stone down from where I was when restarting WW online in November, but 10 lbs down from my highest ever non-pregnant weight back in May 2008.

DH found a place for us to take ballroom dancing lessons, something we've been meaning to do for ages. It will be a nice way to exercise together, and our pilates teacher has offered to watch DS. DH reckons we will look like 'a couple of fairy elephants'! Starts this Thursday.

Will have to catch up later, have skimmed thread and promptly forgot what/who I was going to say what to, and DS is trying to eat my external hard drive!

wastingaway · 18/01/2010 11:10

Good morning lovely ladies!

I've had a really good weekend.

Pol, great news on the sleep!

Mitts, your paintings are fab! Particularly like The Moment of Truth.

As I didn't lose this week, I am making booze an S-word and keeping it to the weekend, if at all.
Plus I am going to up the exercise. Now the snow's gone, it's time to get walking!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 18/01/2010 11:11

MyCat - I am 40 on the 19th Feb

FlamingoBingo · 18/01/2010 11:15

Mitts I want one of your paintings too!

Lots of big birthdays coming up on the thread soon! I'm 30 on the 31st of this month. Eek!

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 18/01/2010 11:18

five - we should have an online party. Mine is 17th Feb. 40 is the only age to be (I hope).

Yank - well done. And there is nothing wrong with MrCock (sorry, just makes my giggle childishly!) getting the scales too. MrMyCat seems to think there is some mystical reason for his weight going up and cholestoral rising. Nothing at all to do with the cheese and biscuits at 9:30pm every night. He shall be eating healthily and weighing in with me too from now on!

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 18/01/2010 11:20

Flamingo - 30 was great. I felt like I had another whole new decade to have fun in (and I did). And you must be an aquarian. A very good star sign (if you believe in all that, I only do when it says something good), we are eccentric intelligent beings!

hellsbelles · 18/01/2010 12:20

Yank - sorry - I didn't congratulate you on the loss - well done.

Flam - 30?!! `You lucky thing. I loved my 30's (well I've still got a year and a bit to go of them). Enjoy.

And for those of us nearing 40? Isn't it supposed to be the new '20/30?' - and we are still too young to be cougars...so we have it all ahead

My DD is an aquarian too...I like the idea that she will be an eccentric intelligent being.

Lunch today - cold roast chicken (as always) with yesterdays Ratatouille - which I'm getting rather addicted to.

So much to do in the house - must try to get back to my 'flying' roots - I did well when I was on that.

traceybath · 18/01/2010 12:28

Morning - just caught up.

Shiney - spat my coffee out reading about your dates - can't believe anyone would go for a poo in front of you. God - I'm firmly in the don't wee in front of anyone camp let alone anything else.

Went for a run yesterday and felt so much better for it - only problem is can only do it at weekends when DH around. Well will be able to run in the mornings before school run when it gets lighter.

MyCat - Sorry for linking to expensive dresses in S&B but that vivienne one is so gorgeous . Will keep my eyes open for red dresses though.

Feeling quite motivated diet wise today - really not much more to go.

Yank - well done - half a stone gone is really good.
