Poor thread title, I know....

I think this is our 39th thread and we are still going strong. Our leader Shiney is well what can I say.. just bloody fab.

We do like a lot of cock and cake chat with lots of healthy stuff thrown in too.

We welcome any one who wants to join our thread - just one rule, post post and post more!

Buxton DEM...bugger I wish I had known.... Buxton is very doable!!

Glad you have had your mind set to rest Alice..

I am a big lego fan.... I always do geeky colour coordinated fleets of little space buggies but we do have the techno stuff as well...

tummy rubbing vibes to baby yank, being constipated still affects DS massively (and at 11 he would be so pleased that I have posted that on MN)...

Alicetheinvisible · 16/01/2010 11:18

Not yet, all the paperwork went through to the midwives this week though so hopefully soon. I didn't want to go to the Dr/A&E and waste their time just because i was feeling a bit unsure. Apparently lots of Vets do it There is no risk involved so no worry really

Going to have a girly night in instead

I would have loved to do lunch next Thurs Sazz, but i work in Preston so it just not doable, i used to work in Manchester, wish i still did now, would be lovely to meet you

Are we having another meet up? someone mentioned the 20 feb?

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 16/01/2010 11:36

MOrning Everyone. V much liked the spreadsheet thread last night.

I've been swimming this am whilst DD had her lesson. Only did 12 lengths as only had 10 mins, but it was good completely knackering.

Yank - Hope DS feels better soon. Poor little chap. My DS often goes quite nicely after some v warm milk, seems to get the system going!

Flamingo - well done on the weight loss. I'm going to sign on to food focus methinks (although not today as a friend is cooking us a meal tonight).

Right, off to lurk on other threads and cook dinner (roast chicken, roast pots, cabbage and carrots)

Alicetheinvisible · 16/01/2010 11:41

Yank - how old is DS? DD sometimes suffered and we used to give her some water instead of milk for one feed when she was bad. As she got a little older a splash of fresh orange juice in the water was very effective too.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:04

Morning all - friend who was staying over has just gone, we had a Buffy-fest. Nostalgia for us, new and exciting for the two who had never watched it.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:11

Hells I reckon your woman was paranoid that you were accusing her of being PFB. And the recipe thread is here - it's in Recipes and has Shiney in the title

(searching for stuff on t'internet is part of my job)

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:12

Iggi please please be a wedding bore! I love weddings! You and Alice will have to share the alocation of pregnancy-chat though

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:16

Good luck with WW Shiney - you should try to eat all yoru points - we've seen what happens when you go extreme, you lose half a stone really suddenyl and then bounce straight back up by eating a kilo of jelly snakes.

I think you are allowed to save up some points htough, you could eat 18 a day for 2 days and then have a 24 point day if you were going out for dinner or something.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:24

OMG Alice - did DH scan you with the baby-horse scanner? How exciting!

My mash is always rustic Yank - I'm glad someone else calls it that/ Skins are healthier anyway.

DP has gone to visit his family so I have the place to myself this weekend. Have a birthday party to go to this evening but think I will try to do healthy eating as much as possible. Have had tea and orange juice and a slice of brown toast with a lot of butter for breakfast, but had it quite late. I've been asked to make cheese stars for the party, but will try to have only good things the rest of the day.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 16/01/2010 13:28

Oh Dear. MrMyCat as plumber is not quite working out the way it should have been. We've had a leak! He's now upstairs swearing about 'bloody taps' 'bloody pipes to fucking short' 'where the hell is that drip' 'it's all wrong in the box' etc etc.

I am hiding in the conservatory.

Shiney - hope WW works for you. I've lost over 4 stone on it. Only reason I've stalled is cause I stopped counting the points. I will be starting again tomorrow (1 month to my birthday, 7lb target).

Right, got to go, my DS is NOT suffering from the same thing as Yanks and there is a suspicious smell to be dealt with (joyous!)

hellsbelles · 16/01/2010 13:33

thanks Trills & Squeezy for the thread.

Trills - I always assumed you had a spreadsheet

OMG Sazz - your girls are so beautiful like their mummy. Really gorgeous. And proper little blondies as well. Do you think they'll keep that? Wouldn't they be lucky (I've always wished I could go blonde but would look very very odd as I have very dark eyebrows and any attempts at lightening end up a very unflattering shade of weird red)

Alice - a friend of ours did that too (her DH is a vet)....

Yank - as the others know (and try not to yawn about too much) - I have to throw in some hippy dippy stuff from time to time. Have you ever taken DS to a cranial osteopath that specialises in children? I have a good one (we are in London - so not sure if that's any good - though the chap we see is a lecturer so he may be able to recommend someone if you tell me where you are)...imo they have really helped my DC's through various things like that (though I know others think it's all bollocks). If you are getting desperate and don't want to pump him full of meds from the dr...it may be worth a try. I know it's so upsetting seeing DS in pain and not knowing how to help.

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 13:47

I think I hsould have a spreadsheet TBH - I keep forgetting who is a loon and what their speciic looniness is...

bellavita · 16/01/2010 14:50

Sazz - your pics are fab, your girls are yummy!

Have been to the pub for lunch. No Scarborough crab . The landlord said their fishman had only managed 2 deliveries last week - one of them being to his pub. The weather has been too poor for anything to be caught. I was really tempted to have the haggis neeps and tatties but had chicken caeser (sp) instead. DS1 had Moules with loads of fresh crusty bread to mop up the juice and DS2 had queenie scallops (they come in this dish with holes in - a scallop in each one and then a cheesey garlic sauce is put over the top and then they are baked and grilled. Neither of them wanted a dessert which is actually unheard of!

On the way back, I called to Sainsbo's and then for a hand job - was nice to see the men in action from the comfort of my warm car

Vinny - I am going to London with DH on the 20th Feb. He is in a meeting most of the day and I will be out on the loose! .

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 14:56

at Bella's hand jobs in the comfort of her car.

Feel like I should have some lunch or something. Have just put in a massive Tesco order to come tomorrow.

bellavita · 16/01/2010 15:01

I am going to do this cous cous recipe from a ww mag. Tis only 2.5 points (it makes enough for two) so even if I eat all of it, tis only 5 points.

Have you got some nice healthy stuff ordered Trills?

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/01/2010 15:07

Bella - is that the one with peppers, onions, toms and cream cheese?

Alice - love the thought of a vet scanning you. Brings to mind a story a friend told me when expecting their first (many years ago as baby is now DS's Godfather). They were at their first NCT meeting and were told to think about what to do if hings go wrong. E, a dairy farmer, said well we will be fine as I can keep the calving machine and ropes under the bed if necessary. They never went ack to their second meeting.

Birthday party was a great success, DD, 3 friends from nursery, 2 of their siblings and DS.

bellavita · 16/01/2010 15:11

No Fanny it has broccoli florets, red onion, grated carrot, sultanas, sunflower seeds, lemon juice and parsley in.

Glad party was a success . at calving machine and ropes under the bed!

OP posts:
FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/01/2010 15:12

That sounds really nice, could you put the recipe on the other thread?

TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 15:12

I am drking a virgin bloody mary, and eating a little bit of cheese with some red onion stuff on it, and that'll be it til dinner time. In the meantime I have to cook cheese stars and glue the chip on the plate I just broke.

Tesco had 2 for £3 on cherries, when one pack was £2.98, so I am hopeful there will be nice healthyness

Glad your little party went well Fanny, you're always having lots of people round so I had no doubt.

bellavita · 16/01/2010 15:21

I got blueberries on that offer Trills.

Will do Fanny.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 16/01/2010 15:22

I don't like blueberries. Even though they are posh and allegedly very very good for you.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 16/01/2010 15:33

Thanks Bella, will have that for lunch one day next week.
