Welcome to our 36th healthy eating thread, where we will renew any healthy eating resolutions with all the viguor that the Christmas munchies require...

We chat, keep each other on track, and monitor our goals together- some on the thread have lost shed loads of weight, some are running ridiculous distances. Some, of course (like myself and Shiney, our dubious leader) have been a bit, er, remiss really. But that can all change with a New Year!

Come and introduce yourself, old and new, and let's get Mumsnet's famous Shiney Healthy Eating Thread kicked off for 2010...

not great but still here

book writing? ooooh.
I feel the need to write but no flipping time! (or functioning brain cells )

YanknChristmasCrackers · 31/12/2009 23:49

Have I missed BOF's bosom then? I was planning a spot of motorboating

We have had our lovely dinner with lots of red wine, and as predicted DH is snoring on the sofa while I suffer in my 'sexy' underwear. They cost a pound and I've got 50 pence worth up my arse!

Reality, sorry she's being such a be-atch, I do hope MNHQ will help you out.

DEM, is the party still raging?

We drove 50 miles round trip to have our hamster cremated today. It cost £30, plus another £10 to pick him up the same day. We scattered his ashes in their memorial garden. Thank god he's no longer in the freezer (he'd been there since he went to the big wheel in the sky on Christmas Eve). RIP George!

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 31/12/2009 23:52

Sounds like a plan, DEM

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 23:54

And i used to joke it was a good job the police had no cause to rumage through the freezer when going throughly the bi-monthly stuff toy freeze cycle but really a hamster in the freezer it would be interesting to see that. "madam, can you explain exactly why you appear to have a dead hamster in the freezer?"

There seems to have been a recent increase in noise but i think 2 door up had a rather forcefull word or two. A lovely bloke but had has a past and can be tough in a scarey way when necessary. got a lot of respect for him and greatful that he can get the results. so we'll see.

MaskedYurter1 · 31/12/2009 23:56

Yankin. We are a hamster household. Well, not entirely.

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 23:59

Yep two doors must have had a word as they are all still outside but the noise is very audible. Might have to send some chocolate to say thanks. ds has now gone to bed. he'll be tired tomo so there is hope for a lie in

YanknChristmasCrackers · 31/12/2009 23:59

I shall be bringing in the new year pumping breast milk, how boring is that?

DEM, glad to hear there might be relief soon.

Why do you freeze toys, may I ask?

DidEinsteinsMum · 31/12/2009 23:59

opps shouldnt have read very should have been barely... mutlitasking can be a back thing

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/01/2010 00:02

By the way HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

!

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 01/01/2010 00:02

HAPPY NEW YEAR [GRIN]

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/01/2010 00:03

if you freeze the stuff toys for 78 hours it kills the dust mite. useful when ds was very allergic to the buggers and the stupid fucking toys were surface only wash and couldnt go through the machine.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 01/01/2010 00:11

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I would never have thought of that! How often do you freeze them?

DH has now woken up again, has started watching Spinal Tap.

IggiBurns · 01/01/2010 00:13

Hapy new year! Can we hold hands and sing, please? Though I can usually only remember the first few lines!

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/01/2010 00:14

once every two months, think it was supposed to be every month but small freezer and lots of toys made this impossible. Jump him when you've finished if your still in the mood. Best way to start the new year imo.

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/01/2010 00:15

Feel free, you start, and i think squeezy posted the words earlier.

BitOfFun · 01/01/2010 00:16

I was wandering what the bright light zooming across the sky was. Just realised that it is someone letting chinese latterns go. it is lovely and amazing to watch them flying. much nicer then the kids, get a bit jumpy when they are near the house. i may hate my car but am still a bit protective of it.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 01/01/2010 00:19

a-and never brought to miiind?

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/01/2010 00:21
