TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 23:04

It's snowing again.

And out combi boiler is ignoring the timer and heating stuff anyway. We think it is scared by all the snow and doesn't want us ot get cold.

Hope you got your bed clear DEM

SazzlesOnASled · 19/12/2009 23:25

Night all

PIL's here so zero computer time (am still LOL'ing at Bella posting from her loo a few months ago ). Visit going remarkably well all things considered, so fingers x'd this may continue [not counting chickens]

SazzlesOnASled · 19/12/2009 23:27

Oh and DEM, hope you get some sleep

jinglejet · 20/12/2009 08:29

awww DEM, hope you had a good night's sleep, and maybe it wont snow for that long so you can still get a break?

morning all. today i will mostly be eating, errrm....., chicken broth, as weigh in is in 2 days and while i dont think i will have hit the 8lbs needed to get where i wanted, i will give it a good go

hellsbelles · 20/12/2009 08:30

morning all

DEM - I hope you managed to get some sleep and everything feels a bit easier today.

Bella - yes thank you - my genius handyman fixed what took 6 british gas men to try and work out. It was an external pump?!

DD kept us awake all night with teething. So grumpy and tired today and looking about 75 with horrible bags under my eyes. I remember the days when if I looked a bit tired I knew a good nights sleep would fix my face. It doesn't work like that any more so I'm probably saddled with this for evermore!!

hellsbelles · 20/12/2009 08:37

x post Jet. Good morning - good luck with the chicken broth!

Sleepisnotoptional · 20/12/2009 08:43

morning. sleep has made live seems more acievable and ds is in a good mood for now. still feel pretty crap but i think i have caught the cold i have managed to avoid so far so that with AF explains feeling so yucky yesterday. Off to do lots of 15mis to try to clear up the abandoned mess from yesterday, then start on what i should have been doing yesterday before looking at todays to do list.

Have a good day all.

SazzlesOnASled · 20/12/2009 09:08

Hiding in bed from PIL's , but think i ought to go and make them some breakfast soon

DEM, glad you got some sleep and 15 minute tidying plan sounds very do-able

Hells - we are cutting molars here too. Not too bad last night sleep wise but i did give her a 1/2 dose of medised . FIL has listened to my washing machine and doesn't think it is terminal which is good

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 20/12/2009 09:23

I have got mountains of work to do so am just popping in to say Hi,

and huge love to DEM for having such a crap night. I really know how you felt and wish like others there was something I could do to help. You are welcome to my 'services' free of charge (apart from a large latte and piece of cake) if it ever proved useful (cleaning/ironing/straightening piles).

I really hope today is better and that you get some you time somehow... xx

bellavita · 20/12/2009 09:35

I love chicken broth.

I have had porridge with a scattering of blueberries for breakfast.

We have had another snowfall overnight - I just hate this bloody weather.

Going to do a quick tidy then ice the christmas cake.

Glad you got some sleep DEM.

hellsbelles · 20/12/2009 09:39

sazzles - I"m sorely tempted by medised but trying to resist

Glad washing machine isn't terminal. I now have a mental image of your FIL sitting next to it like some sort of red indian sage in a yoga position and after listening proclaming the sound 'not terminal'....I suspect it wasn't like that though was it

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 20/12/2009 10:35

Morning all

Hells - you will catch up with your sleep in about 10years

DEM - I hope things are looking better today. Things are always so bleak when you have had lack of sleep. You are very good though, i would have just shoved everything on the floor (but then i am a slattern )

DH brought me breakfast in bed this morning (after i asked him to, mind) so we shared crumpets and apple juice and i have just had an apple, may have to have a jaffa cake or five

TinselianAstra · 20/12/2009 11:06

Morning all - I've finally got around to making osme red onion marmalade (ish) so I have stinging eyes and red under my fingernails.

DP is going to drive me to Tesco (I am a wimp on icy roads) to get the last few things we need for this evening.

My washing machine image is of it being hooked up to intensive-care-type-machinery and Hells saying 'will he be okay Doctor?'

jinglejet · 20/12/2009 11:31

at the washing machine imagery - but i do hope it is ok!

broth is smelling lovely, cant wait for it to be cooked, as only had yoghurt for brekkie, and am bloomin starving

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 20/12/2009 11:35

My washing machine broke last week. Turned out to be a kirby grip in the filter. So, monkey or robot?

YanknChristmasCrackers · 20/12/2009 11:40

Snowing here! Looks lovely, reminds me of Wisconsin. And it means our weed-infested patio/garden looks a lot nicer with a white covering.

Have had a crappy night, made up only by DH taking DS downstairs at 8am and letting me sleep another two hours. DS woke up at 2am (which he hasn't done for ages), fed for 1.5 hours, then woke again at 6am and fed for another 1.5 hours. I think we're in a growth spurt again--normally he sleeps right through till at least 6:30 or 7.

I could have handled that, except DH was having a restless night so didn't get much quality sleep next to him. At one point I woke up because he'd grabbed a hunk of my hair and was pulling it really hard! I yelped, and he woke up all instantly apologetic--he'd been dreaming he was trying to pull something off a shelf!

TinselianAstra · 20/12/2009 11:42

Robot please

VinegarTinselTits · 20/12/2009 11:50

Morning all

i had the shittest night out last night, mate asked me to go on her work xmas do weeks ago and i agreed and paid £10 for coach to Mankchester, we ended up going to the dog racing and it was told shite and expensive to boot, worse night ever and i spent money i couldnt afford

Going to have to take my christmas dress back and get a refund as i really need the money now

and to top it off, ds wouldnt go to xp's again on Friday, so he picked him up yesterday and i got text messages all night saying he wanted me and wanted to come home, wtf could i do i was stuck in manchester! anyway i rang my mum and she said he could go there so xp dropped him off, i am getting quite pissed off with the situation as i think my xfil is manipulating ds2 into not going xp's (long story)

rant over, off the catch up on the thread now

Sleepisnotoptional · 20/12/2009 11:58

vinny does xfil pick up from you to drop off at xp's?

bellavita · 20/12/2009 12:15

Oh Vinny, what a crap situation

Can I lend you some money to tide you over?

Oh how rubbish VT. I can't offer child-related advice but hope you do get it sorted so that DS will be happy staying at his Dad's. I mean, it's his Dad, not like he's going to see some stranger. Would he calm down after a while if he realised that he was staying (like kids crying when they're dropped off at school/nursery but being happy 5 mins after) or does it not work that way?

Also v annoying to spend money and not feel you've got enough fun per pound.

Shiney I thought clementines were similar to tomatoes in size anyway?

bellavita · 20/12/2009 12:31

Hullo Shiney

The boys have eaten all the oranges and satsumas in the fruit bowl and left all the flippin apples... they have eaten all the biscuits that were bought on Thursday tsk. I just don't know how to fill them.

It is far too bloody cold here today. I have the heating on and the fire on. DH has gone over to the coast to some christmas lunch thingy with his charity cronies. One of them rang this morning and said to me... Oh it is a shame you and the boys aren't coming. I replied that I had never been bloody well asked! And I flippin well love christmas dinner - especially when I have not cooked it!

I wouldn't want Vinny to worry over christmas that she couldn't afford to eat...

Trills has inspired me to make some mince pies today.

VinegarTinselTits · 20/12/2009 12:33

sleeps - yes xfil pciks him up, but i have my suspicions that he is manipulating ds2, because ds2 has suddenly stopped wanting to stay at xp's house, and is also saying he doesnt love him anymore, he only loves grandpa xp was in tears last night because of it

to cut a long sory short, xmil has a new fella, xfil tried to assault him so xmil took out an injunction so xfil is not allowed near the house (xp lives with xmil) now suddenly ds2 doesnt want to stay at the house and is telling my he doesnt love grandma or daddy he only loves grandpa

just had a big talk with xp on the phone and we agreed that xfil should stop picking him up, and not be alone with ds2, its all very complicated, but for ds2 to say he doesnt love his daddy anymore sets alarm bells ringing for me

Bella thankyou for the offer, i will be fine honestly, i was in two minds about the dress anyway, i will wear it once and it will go to the wardrobe graveyard with the rest of the things i buy on a whim
