Does DD1 have your hair or DD2s hair BoF?

I don't blame you for not wanting to drive to Sussex!

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 19/12/2009 20:22

Dd1 is between us both. Straight(ish) like dd2, but fair like me. I really like seeing her grow up and start to look like a proper mini-adult IYSWIM. I always wondered if I would feel a bit nose-out-of-joint as my girls got older and I got, well, older, but it really isn't like that at all. I would rip a boy's head off if he upset her though

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 20:31

I can understand the sentiment, glad you haven't developed the teenage-daughter-envy yet. The fact that you're still a babe probably doesn't hurt!

DidSantasMum · 19/12/2009 20:53

sits in the corner for a safe hidy hole to weep in. I have had enough of today. I just want to got to bed. but i cant as it is full of stuff. I have just stripped ds' room and cleared down with nail varnish remove to remove the ulbas oil stuff he poured everywhere. I have a mountain of soft toys to wash, bedding and general laundry. My family is mya family and the normal christmas shit has kicked off and gotten ugly. Dont feel well and dont want to be about any more at the mo. I have just had enough. This is the 4th time in 3 weeks i have had to deal with ds' flip outs and i have had enough for now. I need some sleep...

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 19/12/2009 20:56

Oh sweetness, you sound worn out

Can't you shove the stuff off the bed and get a good sleep? Tomorrow is another day and all that.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:01

Oh, DEM, I'm so sorry.

Can you just haul the duvet off the bed onto the floor and sleep under coats/throws/blankets for tonight? It may all seem a bit less insurmountable in the daylight?

bellavita · 19/12/2009 21:02

DSM

I would do as BofF said, shove it all off the bed and get in.

Hope you feel better tomorrow. xx

Sleepisnotoptional · 19/12/2009 21:02

There isnt anywhere to shove stuff any more. its what i have been doing the last few weeks. the junk breeds, eventually i will end up drowing in it... literaly. death by junk. Am going to focus on the bed though. the rest will have to wait unless it is dangerous where it is (eg top of stairs blocking landing.) Life is so much worse when not sleeping properally.

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 19/12/2009 21:02

Aw DSM, get it all out. I've said it before but I think you mums on here cope so bloody well. Is there anything we can say or do to make things better?

BoF, if your eldest is between you and your youngest, she must be a little stunner. My nosiness would love to see a pic of her

Have you done all your baking Trills?

Something a bit weird has happened, a family thing. Am gonna start a thread in r/ships under a different name if anyone fancies giving a bit of advice.

bellavita · 19/12/2009 21:04

Hells, have you managed to get your washing machine fixed?

awastingamanger · 19/12/2009 21:04

Oh DEM.
Tip it on the floor and get some kip sweetheart.

Actually i think it is worse because i have lost my boy free days due to the snow. I was looking forward to a break from him to focus on my needs for a few days. Especailly as i know he would be safe and well looked after and it would only be a few days. And as much he wears me out and drives me mad i love him to bits. so am probably feelinga bit guilty for yelling at him and telling him straight that as much as he hates it when people shout at me, sometimes they are shouting at me becuase of his behaviour and that i feel fed up of his behaviour. I refused to read to him tonight. I worry he wont wake up or something might happen to him and i hate ending the day on a low. love him to bits and worry so much about him. Especially as have had a few narrow squeaks with lossing him.
A good night sleep will help. 15mins tackle then back for 5 then 15 more me thinks. might just get me through tonight.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:17

SOunds like a plan, DEM. Be strict with yourself. Do 15 minutes now, and we'll see you at 21.30. Precisely.

FlamingoCrimbo · 19/12/2009 21:21

Oh DEM

You're right - breaks are so, so important to the emotional survival of a parent.

I totally agree with 15min bursts - do you do Flylady???? But just do three or four bursts tonight, and then another couple in the morning.

Thinking of you...

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:33

Hey, DEM! Back here!

Sleepisnotoptional · 19/12/2009 21:34

right almosthave a bed. Alsomst cleared the landing toys on radiator. Going to do another 15mins then bed. AF is a bitch. I flutter havent graduated to flying yet. My sink does know what shiney is

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:37

You are doing brilliantly

Quick biscuit rice cake; another 15 mins and you'll have a clear bed and a clear mind.

jaquelinehyde · 19/12/2009 21:56

DEM you poor thing.

Well done for rolling your sleeves up and getting stuck in though. That's grit and determination for you.

Keep calm and carry on!

How are we all today?

I'm a little bit shocked that Christmas is only 6 sleeps away!

Sleepisnotoptional · 19/12/2009 21:57

Done. couldnt be bothered doing more washing it'll wait. Broom taken to stuff on landing so it is safely passable. The rest will wait. going to curl up in bed with a mince pie and wathc last nights qi on i player as i still havent managed to find the warenty for the tv but then again havent had chance to look. Feel better for getting this far and tomois another day. am going to try to have a fun day tomo. Sledge in snow and maybe we can tackle the garden to as it will involve playing with ice so ds'll love that. Thank you. It helped to vent. I feel less emotional and more tired. its a better place to be.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:58

six sleeps!

Where is DEM? Time to come back, eat a mince pie banana and then go to bed, I think.

DingDongBinaryOnHigh · 19/12/2009 21:59

Night, DEM

YanknChristmasCrackers · 19/12/2009 22:01

DEM, hope you can get some rest soon.

I am utterly disappointed. Went to Costco today, and no saltines! And ended up chatting to a guy in there who said he's been to loads of different ones and never seen them (weird because I've heard many reports to the contrary). He started talking to me when he overheard me loudly rubbishing the American chocolate in favour of Cadburys.

On the eating front...out to a pub for fish and chips for lunch. My daily points allowance could have accommodated this indulgence, had DH and I not split an ice cream/brownie/cherry sundae thing

But I'm still calling it a successful day as I did not pick at DH's plate when I finished mine. I did make him sprinkle pepper and put a napkin over it though. We are still so full we're skipping dinner.

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 19/12/2009 22:11

Sardines?

awastingamanger · 19/12/2009 22:23

That might be a difficult game to play online BoF.
