DSM - a boiled head

I thought that maybe, just maybe, when I looked out of the window this morning that the horrible snow would be gone - not a bloody chance..

LizzyLordsALeaping · 19/12/2009 09:11

Intrigued by Bella's handjob, enjoy your pampering

Flam, wish I had a sewing machine/knew how to use one, fantastic bags!

DEM, hope you enjoyed your night out

Jet, don't be daft, I moan away all the time about really trivial stuff, you don't offend anyone you daft moo!

I am knackered, DS2 woke us all up at 5.45am, then came into our bed wearing a plastic firemans hat, Wizard's cape, furry monster gloves and smelling of chocolate. NOt easy to snuggle up to a 3 year old dressed like that. Am in work now and have drunk half of a generic energy drink as I honestly think I may fall asleep on my desk!

Off to my Dad's tomorrow, will be glad when that is done and can get home and get sorted.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 19/12/2009 09:21

Well, I presume giving a car a Hand job involves the big end?!

I need a hobby...

Sounds 'entertaining' Lizzy, It is amazing that DS was like that and now getting him out of bed is a job for the UN.

LizzyLordsALeaping · 19/12/2009 09:29

Mitts, that is what gets me through, DS1 will sleep later now (well, until 7am if we are lucky), hopefully DS2 will sleep longer soon. He gets tired then and crabby after 5.30pm, but still won't sleep any later.

YanknChristmasCrackers · 19/12/2009 09:43

Lizzy, that's quite a fashion statement your DS2 is making!

Snurking over bella's handjob....really too early for it

Never made it to Costco yesterday, by the time I got there, I realised I'd forgotten a utility bill I needed to get the cards made. Could not be arsed to go all the way home and back there again, so went and did a few other bits instead. Going to drag DH with me.

I have still not spilled the beans about the mattress! DH was complaining this morning about how badly he slept--really wanted to tell him but kept mouth clamped shut.

jet, there's a fair amount of unusual drama in my family too, don't worry about freaking us out!

FlamingoCrimbo · 19/12/2009 09:44

Mitts - I would love that fabric. How much would you want for it? Might need to wait until next year to have the cash though . Would def make you a bag from it and post it back to you. Where do you live? Can you send me a message on FB? I'm out all day today, but will check for messages this evening.

I'm getting a new phone . A lovely pink samsung tocco lite. I just got off the phone from carphone warehouse threatening to go to 3 as they had a better deal now my contract had run out. They've given me the same deal but the phone I wanted rather than the rather crappy offerings from 3!

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 19/12/2009 09:51

FB, I wouldn't want anything, I inherited it and would just rather it was used than went to recycling for ragging. Will put details on FB in a bit though.

A bag would be fab though

Alicehasamincepieintheoven · 19/12/2009 10:03

Morning lovely ladies

Still got loads of snow here was going to meet up with my sister and family for a late lunch today, but because of the weather there is no chance

Flamingo - i loved those bags, have you looked on Craftser? It is a great site for all crafty things and has some tutorials on too.

Reckons it is about minus 5 here!!

BitOfFunderthemistletoe · 19/12/2009 11:18

Morning all! I need to find DEM and say thanks for sending me some card-making things- it was very kind

The good news is that I have found the tube of red ink I'd lost- before dd2 did, so that's a relief!

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 11:42

Inside-outside thermometer say -0.7 degrees.

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 11:47

Good luck meeting your Dad Flamingo, and I'm sure your friends will be thrilled with their bags

Snurk at Bella's car getting a handjob. It is a very lovely new car, it deserves the best treatment

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 12:19

OMFG check out the insane troll on the Golden Rules thread.

Her Golden Rule is that if you work you are not a mum, because being a mum is a fulltime job. Apparently all women should choose to go on benefits rather than work, and just live more cheaply, because being there when your kids get home from school is the most important thing.

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 12:20

Damn, sad I missed it last night as a whole load have been deleted already.

SqueezinAroundTheXmasTree · 19/12/2009 12:53

Hiya ladies, bloody freezing today. Hoping for a big whack of snow tomorrow

Flamingo, hope everything goes well with your dad, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Those bags are LOVELY! I have a sewing machine I bought on ebay a while ago, but haven't quite got around to working out how to operate the thing yet so it sits quietly in a cupboard gathering dust till I find the time.

Saw that food thing last night too, wasn't impressed and I always feel Heston is a bit full of himself although not quite as annoying as Ramsay. Didn't like the deer with blood running out or the mouse thing.....although it is more than fair to say I have a bit of an aversion to mice at the moment....even cute little Dormice....Grrr

hellsbelles · 19/12/2009 13:24

Bella - yes Kate spicer is so annoying and I don't know why? Maybe because she has that wisp of desperation about her? And she's gone a bit mad on the botox or whatever which is never a good thing.

Squeezy - I would have though that might provide inspiration for what to do with all those blasted mice

We had to drive today and it was really quite scary. Skidding a lot.

I'm mostly doing washing today. Hurrah. It's actually such a relief to get rid of all those piles of clothes and towels.

DidSantasMum · 19/12/2009 13:40

No problem Bof. FOund the rest of what i wanted to send you so will post that on monday. Will probably arrive opst new year

bellavita · 19/12/2009 14:09

Jet -thanks so much for your card, what a lovely thought

Roots all done, no grey to be seen. I had a lovely cappuccino and biscuit. Was then offered a glass of wine (which I refused due to driving conditions etc) and accepted a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream instead with a mini mince pie on the side...

I did not manage to get a hand job , the guys weren't there. But probably just as well as I have icicles dangling from my car and ice is frozen onto the rear windscreen wiper.

DidSantasMum · 19/12/2009 15:04

love your choice of words Bella. Still making me grin.

Ds is watching transformers so i have escaped to do a few bits and bobs. The lounge is best avoided as it is the original 80's film so dreadful.

Wrapping marathon here i come

bellavita · 19/12/2009 15:51

Wanna come and do my wrapping DSM?....

jinglejet · 19/12/2009 16:01

thanks guys a lovely candle and fridge magnet today! Have put the magnet up high, as minijet does love to trash play with them you are all lovely!

Bella - youre more than welcome

i am bloomin freezin here - it was -7 in friend's car when we went shopping this morning Think i may need to invest in a hat - though not too sure what i may look like....

i am quite chuffed today, as while out shopping, friend quite forcefully lent me some money to buy a nice but cheap keyboard for junior, as hers has just broke, which means she cant do her daily practice over the hols. I can wait to see her face on xmas day

hope everyone else is busy enjoying the xmas shopping as much as i do

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 16:50

Sounds like a lovely morning Bella.

I wimped out of going to a proper supermarket - will have to go tomorrow as we have no ladle to serve mulled wine with. Mince pies are in the oven, fingers crossed they will turn out okay.

bellavita · 19/12/2009 16:52

Have you made the pastry Trills or bought it?

TinselianAstra · 19/12/2009 17:05

Made the pastry, I'm not that lazy (plus I am cheap).
