...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

evening all...so bad tempered today that I can hardly open my mouth without moaning about something so I shall keep myself off here.

Lizzy - amazon book in the post - let me know if it makes your fortune

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 20:08

Evening, making spag bol for dinner. DP tried to be nice and have a gin and tonic waiting for me when I gothome, but got distracted by a friend on Skype. Oh well, at least he tried

While food is simmering I'm watching something called Popular - a teen tv show from 1999 that I was lent by DP's friend It's not a lesbian show yet but she did make sure to tell me that one of the (female) characters is married to a (female) singer in RL. I love trash. And in 99 I was a teenager

Good luck with iron levels, migrane, etc.

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 20:09

Oh and well done on the Past Times code! We love a bargain here

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 20:18

Ooh, Vinny- I went and had a look at Past Times (via topcashback ) and got this ring for myself from the girls for £12.60

I like this one

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 20:44

That's lovely Trill. I don't like all the stuff on the site, and I know you like quite contemporary stuff, Shiney (like your expensive ring out of a cracker ), but I like vintagey-looking stuff, and that garnet ring will complement my engagement ring if I wear it on my other hand. Will put a pic of my ring up on my profile in a sec- it's a deco sapphire/diamond white gold ring we saw in an antique market in Venice. Hang on a sec...

DEM - hope you feel better soon.

I used to like Past Times, I think some of their stuff is very naff but there are a few gems if you search.

I had my weigh in tonight and another pound a half gone so that is 17 punds since I joined you all.

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 20:52

Right, should be on there now.

Woohoo Fanny- great stuff

That ring is gorgeous BOF, i got a silver locket from PT for my birthday, i love going into the shop, they always have lovely things and look much better in RL than they do on the website

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 21:20

I got my Bridesmaids and Parents/ILs presents from PT for my wedding (Photo frames)
Thye do lovely stuff and am a sucker for celtic stuff anyway

LOVE your engagement ring BIF, mine is vintage too (square cut trilogy diamonds), I have been reliably informed that if we'd tried to buy similar as new it would have cost us 3x the amount. LOVE sapphires as well.

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 21:27

I love lockets- just love them. Lizzylou- I googled, do you mean something similar to this?

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 21:35

Very like that BOF, but my stones are all the same size (and band is white gold), all in all I think there is 1carat of diamonds and from I'm told they are very good diamonds, shiny etc. I have no idea, just loved the ring

I used to work 2 doors down from PT, bloody love the place

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 21:36

Sorry BOF, I called you BIF!

Too many bloody reading books I think....

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 21:44

It sounds beautiful. When I work in town I can't really get out to buy anything until hometime, and by then I'm usually desperate to get back. With all these online shopping codes though, I have been doing some serious wallet damage

Hello my lovelies

Am bloody frozen tonight, think I am going to have to dig the water bottle out.

Had left over chicken curry for tea from last night which was rather yummy.

Got DS1's new Debenhams order today with bigger sized clothes and he looks fab in them. Just a little that the bigger coat is out of stock.

SazzlesOnASled · 02/12/2009 21:57

Evening

Busy day, punctuated by tantrums from DD1 for a bit of added spice

Swam 40 lengths this morning despite having to use my old goggles which leaked every bloody length

Had a look on the PT site but sadly didn't see anything suitable for pressies (which wasn't out of stock). However did notice they have another code on the site for Xmas20 for a further 20% off

Bella - i had my hot water bottle last night. Very lovely

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 22:06

My red coat came, it's quite nice and red, but perhaps a litle on the big side. All the better for wearing big jumpers under I guess. I should have taken into account that it's from the frumpy ladies section and they come out big.

Mince pies already bella?

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 22:08

That's impressive determination Sazzles - if I had leaky goggles I'm not sure I'd manage 20.

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 22:11

Yay for codes! I have bought my mum a set of three perfectly hideous frogs (See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil) for her garden. Right up her street

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 22:12

Is it wrong to buy myself a ring just before Christmas?

SazzlesOnASled · 02/12/2009 22:17

Trills - I would have turned the water blue (if it wasn't already ) with the expletives coming out of my mouth

No problem buying yourself things before Xmas. Every Xmas shopping trip i have been on so far i have applied the 'one for going' rule
