...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 16:11

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 16:13

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 16:17

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 16:25

What wos you doin in sarf Manchester then Lizzy? Not much more than a bus journey away from myself.

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 16:48

MItts, my Business Partner (ooh, get me) lives in Disley, near Lyme Park. Not keen on Stockport area meself, but his house and the lane it is on is gorgeous. I feel like an old beggar woman everytime I go there. He always offers to come to mine, but I think his kitchen is bigger than the entire floorplan of our house so I go for a peek. He's not snobby at all, all self-made, just hoping some of his wealth rubs off onto me

Alice, or should I call you "HOmemade Kirsty", why are you producing such delights? Are they for Christmas presents?
Luuurrrve Crunchies.

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 16:54

Yes. Hoping to give homemade presents this year (mostly anyway)

So far i have made honeycomb and bathbombs (just practise). Hoping to make truffles, snowflake cookies with edible glitter, caramelised nuts and little bags to put them in. Got some jars today too, so getting there.

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 16:56

Wow Alice, that all sounds fab.
I thought I was a Domestic Goddess for making white choc and cranberry fudge (just condensed milk and chocolate), soooo sweet, trouble was noone else liked it except me, I think I ate my weight in it that year

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 16:59

Did i say i was 'attempting' these things. I want to make fudge too.

bellavita · 02/12/2009 17:05

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 17:17

Hmm....my SS pressie went in the post this week.

DD is at a friends so having a lovely evening with DS, which is especially nice after the other night. He is making things from the cardboard boxes that the crocery came in.

Still feel several shades off colour.

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 17:28

Still waiting for SS stuff in the post so I can send it...

Nice dress BoF.

You'll have to post instructions.recipes for making Christmas goodies Alice!

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 17:39

Ok, i will put them on our healthy eating recipe thread

DontFuckWithTheNames · 02/12/2009 17:54

Lizzy have you ever made it into lyme park? the do a fab christmas thing i think. But the walk up to the cage is fab. the park backs onto the village where i live. Tis also where i took ds to learn to ride his bike.

Reading that the word ofthe day is fab which is very ironic as today has been anything but fab. However i am not here and will go hide in my corner where i belong.

DontFuckWithTheNames · 02/12/2009 17:54

opps one minute...

DontEatMountains · 02/12/2009 17:56

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 17:59

DEM, I haven't, DH took the boys whilst I was at work a while ago and said how lovely it was.
It is lovely round there, lucky you!

Why has your day not been fab?
Mine hasn't either really, not bad, just not fab!

DontEatMountains · 02/12/2009 18:06

Ds had a complete meltdown yesterday that left me emotionally shattered. spent some friavlous time here last night instead of planning to try to chill. lessons today went bad as planning was shit. Ds unsettled again today as it is another wrong day and ex is up. ex has said he is sstaying to put ds to bed and will then go home (long drive). I expet ds will be in my bed most the night feeling unsettled. I feel like crap had a migrane hit me this evening achy muscles all day, bruises coming out all over the place from yesterday and just generally want the whole world to f of for a week so ican recover. have however negoigated ds go to ex's this weekend instead of next so i can work and sort everything out that has beena ngithmare this week.

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 18:22

Aw Dem, have you taken anyhing for your migraine?
AT least you have a weekend to get some stuff done now (and to chill, thatis an order!).
Hoping that tonight pans out not as bad as you feared.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 18:40

DEM...just a quickie, How are your iron levels? I had loads of migraines and discovered they were symptomatic of anaemia and iron deficiency...like in this article.

Thinking of you and so sorry about your little chaps outbursts, they are heartbreaking. Take care x

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 18:43

That is very interesting Mitts, I get migraines not so often, but they are always when I am pre-menstrual, so iron could be a factor (also when I was PG, when I did have low iron levels).
Thanks

DontEatMountains · 02/12/2009 18:44

Thanks mits. It fits with the lack of apitight and it wouldnt surprise me if was a bit low. taking normal multivit anyway will try some high iron stuff. think it is just stress and lack of sleep. the later the general cause. Getting early night and heading to bed shortly ds currently being read to and yawning so should be asleep soon hopefully me too.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 19:01

Awwww...I'l read to you and tuck you up DEM.....
