...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Oh I am having a moan before I go off to bed, thank God we have an electric blanket.

Nobody turned up to fix the leak. Called and complained strongly an hour ago. Insurance told me someone would call back. Nothing, so I called them just there and their computers are down until 4AM!!!! So they cannot access my details, can't contact the engineer, nothing.

This is ridiculous. DH is upstairs using one boiled litre of our 2 litres of water to get washed and shaved, then he has 1 litre left to wash and brush his teeth in the morning then I'll have to wait till the shop opens to get more so that I can do the same.

The advert with the ladies in the pink dresses.....don't buy their insurance, they suck!

Grrrr.

Sweet cheesy dreams guys, tomorrow is another day

bellavita · 02/12/2009 06:23

Morning

How did dd settle in the end Fanny?

Wonder if you are going to see the bearded lady today or anyone with their flies down Shiney

Yank, good luck with the job application.

Squeezy, hope you manage to get your pipe problems sorted out - it sucks doesn't it when you are told someone is coming out to sort it and then they don't turn up. Fingers crossed x.

I have got to take a huge mountain of clothes back to Debenhams after work today.... I was going to take them back to the post office (which would be easiest) but it is dept store or ring the courier. Courier man lovely (does Next too) but with being at work these next three mornings till 1.15pm, I feel it is taking the p...s with him saying he has to come after 2.

I wrote all my xmas cards last night.

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 08:03

Off out to Cheshire today, ooh get me, to meet up with my business partner (that sounds so wanky) and dream that I can too own a huge house like him.........

No snow, just peeing it down.

Squeezy, they are all the bloody same these insurance people, happy to take your money, not so bloody quick to sort out your problems.. am on your behalf, hope it gets sorted.

Bella, Christmas cards? Blimey!

Have good days all, I went to bed at 9pm ish and I feel really rough this morning, all headachey and achey and hot. Will take some vitamins and cross my fingers.

DreamsInBinary · 02/12/2009 08:59

Oh Squeezy how grim

I am running around like a headless chicken at the moment (hence my shocking lack of comms here ) but when I stop and think, I have acheived precisely nothing. Same with money - I'm spending it like its going out of fashion (the bank even stopped one of my cards - they thought it was stolen ) but I have about £5 worth of xmas presents. What's happening??!!

DreamsInBinary · 02/12/2009 09:01

I am being punished for my lack of attendance by horrifyingly increased podginess.

Let that be a lesson to you all

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 11:00

I am disproportionately pleased at having new crockery.

We have been using a random selection of chipped stuff from various sets and I promised myself some more when finances eased....[simpleton emoticon]

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 11:03
DreamsInBinary · 02/12/2009 12:35

Is it corn on the cob, Mits, or the faintly metallic stuff from a can??

When I first met DH all he could cook were pasta dishes, and they always had an entire tin of sweetcorn in them

WickedWench · 02/12/2009 13:20

I am disproportionately pleased that DP has gone away till Sunday

I will clean the house tonight and it will stay clean. And then I might watch some shite on telly and have a glass of wine or two.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 13:32

WickedWench, sounds like a good plan.

DIB... at the thought of lobbing corn-cobs at the back of your head.

I just nearly fainted talking to a friend, I could hear myself saying 'I think I am going to faint' and my head and legs going to jelly and managing to gather myself enough to go to a cafe for a sausage and bacon cob and some sweet tea. Weird thing was it HAD to be a bacon and sausage cob,

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 13:58
jetcat · 02/12/2009 14:50

i noticed Kissing - are you ok??? I myself have mastered the act of fainting so much that i can do it standing up without acutally falling over

Well, to top up a shite pretty poor couple of weeks, minijet now has swine flu I have managed to get some tamiflu down her, disguised in her ice cream - i hope she sleeps a little better tonight than last night

Bella - Christmas cards I havent even bought any yet, let alone wrote them out! Same with pressies really, something keeps cropping up. Like this Friday - the 3rd attempt for shopping without the girls - guess thats out seeing as we are in quarrentine

Hope everyone is ok, Squeezy - hope you manage to get pipes sorted - it is too bloomin card

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 14:53

I think so jet...I think I was just hungry. It had been a while between KitKats

Awww, poor MiniJet. Hope she picks up soon.

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 14:54

Are you feeling better now, Mitts? Wonder what that's with?

I've been out today, picking uo a parcl and then meeting my friend, her neighbour and their babies for lunch. I don't normally seem to chat to real life people during the day- it was actually rather nice

I had a charm in my handbag, newly delivered from Hot Diamonds, and it seemed very appropriate as a gift for my friend- she was made up. If we remember, these diamonds are indeed "hot", so it didn't cost me anything but the charm itself

I picked up the dress I ordered from Coast too- it's been sitting in my neighbour house waiting for me for days! It looks lovely actually- you can hardly tell I'm a fattie in it, so I will get some use from it. Have got my aunt's funeral on Friday morning, a party mid-month, and there's Christmas day too, so it will earn its keep.

How is everyone else?

jetcat · 02/12/2009 14:55

errrm....., that should be 'too bloomin cold'

TrillianAstra · 02/12/2009 14:57

Hi BoF - show us the dress again?

It's all go here. I'm hoping it'll quieten down one day, but don't know when.

You are obviously very lovely to be giving away your completely legally-acquired charm.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 14:57

You didn't pick up a parcel for days?..Respect BoF...I can smell a nice delivery from a mile away!

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 02/12/2009 15:00

Squeezy - bugger

Jet - hope Minijet gets better soon

Kissing - is there something you are not telling us?

Bella - you were up early. Thanks for asking DD joined DH at 3am.

I spent most of the night looking at options and not getting very far but this is getting ridiculous. I have been waiting for a doctor to call all morning (for DD's constipations) and she hasn't so off to see the receptionist after I have mugged my father for some money (only joking he has kindly offered to lend me the money I have tied up in my savings that I need and will give back to him when I have access).

Really not sure what to do about DD will write it all down later and ask you knowledgable people for advice.

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 15:06

No Five, there is NOT....unless people are lying about sitting on Toilet Seats. Actually it is a bit of a sore subject as I am in my prime and not gettingany I am somewhat chaste at the mo....... apart from the occassional snog on here

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 15:23

This is the dress- I used a discount code. It's nice and short, so it doesn't look too frumpy, but will still look daywear with tall boots or leggings.

OP posts:
KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 15:34

I treated myself to this with my pocket money and a Next voucher I had for my birthday.

I thought it looked too 'coaty' but it is lovely on (I am wearing it )

BitOfFun · 02/12/2009 15:39

Get you, girl-about-town

OP posts:
KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 02/12/2009 15:44

well it is about the best image I can muster...I challenge ANYBODY to do me a 'sophisticated' makeover.

SparklyAlice · 02/12/2009 15:47

I have just made bathbombs! Yay! They actually work (the second batch anyhow )

They would be perfect for ladies that faint, instead of smelling salts

Lizzylou · 02/12/2009 15:48

OOh, nice dresses.......

Have had a mad day, wing mirror got clattered off the passenger side, driving to Sarf Manchester in blinding low sun and fog (wtf?)with no screen wash and a filthy windscreen, very lost in Stockport.........ah well, home now
