...for our 31st Heathy Eating thread- I can't promise that we aren't re-cycling titles for the thread at this point, and like any sequel it will no doubt be full of inferior lines and piss-poor cinematography (after all, who can beat the links to Terry Wogan? Oops), but we are all here and welcome any newcomers who want to join in the frenzy and hilarity that are the Shiney threads, named for our glorious leader

We chat, support, and shout at each other in varying amounts, and try to stay on the straight and narrow for health, weight-loss or both. Join in, and have fun- it's cheaper than weightwatchers, and there are rude jokes and bargain shopping codes too- what more could you ask for?

Will you be buying Total again when it's finished? Or have you had enough for life?

Gawd yes, Sazz, the 2% stuff is amazing.

Have never seen it anywhere though........

hellsbelles · 30/11/2009 21:25

I know Iggi - I'm far too 'goody goody' - I bore myself sometimes.

and I FORGOT TO GO TO THE MN PARTY - WTF! I am so so stupid. I was so excited about it when I got my ticket and I wrote it down somewhere but not my diary. What a waste of money (and potential fun). Urghhhh.

Hellooooooooooo

Sorry for busted lips and cars - but sounds like it has all come good in the end..

I have just done my third flippin order with Debenhams > Ordered stuff for DS1 4 things but in two sizes each and then I saw a jacket that I thought would be nice so cue second order. They both came today and it all has to go back, I need the next size up - didn't realise he had grown so much. The downside is the jacket is out of stock in the bigger size

Have been trying really really hard these last three days with healthy eating, although I have had one glass of red with dinner each night.

bellavita · 30/11/2009 21:30

Hells, how can you forget to go to a party

I agree, the 2% stuff is gorgeous. I too am haiving a break for a while - finished the last of it on Sunday.

hellsbelles · 30/11/2009 21:46

I blame you all for not reminding me or asking what I was going to wear

I don't know how it happened. I had it in my head that as it was the christmas party it must be ages away.....and kept forgetting to check. What a plonker

bellavita · 30/11/2009 21:58

Actually, I was surprised that it had come round so quickly, but then xmas day is 3 weeks on Fri

Lizzylou · 30/11/2009 21:59

I sooo want to go to M&S and get loads of the 4 for 3 nibbly things...........

3 weeks!

Wire my jaws, wire em.

Then I can look fab before I stuff my face.

bellavita · 30/11/2009 22:02

I have bought xmassy stuff like nice crisps and nuts and stashed them - unfortunately not well enough as DH is bloody well eating them.

He says just order some more, but I bought these ahead of time so I could be organised about other stuff.. men!

Lizzylou · 30/11/2009 22:06

Bella, I keep looking at all the food and booze offers and I know they wouldn't last the week.
I have no willpower.................
If it's there, I'll eat/drink it

bellavita · 30/11/2009 22:10

First time in 8 years I am actually excited about xmas because I won't be at work/worrying about what shift falls on what day . I will finish on the 18th and that is it for two whole weeks. Yay. Have even got my online shop coming on the 23rd.

Lizzylou · 30/11/2009 22:13

Party at Bellas!!!!!!
Good for you, you deserve some fab time off lovely

Now, what can I cook for the one vegetarian at my 12 person sit down Christmas dinner? She is pregnant and not keen on fish? Starters and main?????

bellavita · 30/11/2009 22:19

And you would be very welcome!

Well I was going to suggest onion and goats cheese tart from M&S with garnish of salad for starters but I see she is pregnant...erm what about homemade leek and potato soup? Nut roast for main? Do M&S not do anything veggie that would be nice?

There will be 12 of us at our house at christmas too.

Lizzylou · 30/11/2009 22:24

See Bella, I make a mean caramelised onion and goats cheese tart, have also got the option of a mushroom wellington for main (BBC Good Food website). Don't really want to have to make soup, if it's just for one (my Mom is bringing up her famous Chicken liver pate, which is luscious), but then I cannot think of a pate which isn't mushroom or fish for SIL's starter!
She does like sprouts though, which is good cos I bloody hate em.

Lizzy are you totally against just buying soup, or quorn type pate?
Seen recipe for olive and tomato pate, sounds good.

Sazz - roasted veg tartlet sounds nice or a roasted tom one?

I sort of cheated on getting my internet slot early on, but I won't bore you with the gory details....

Mushroom wellington is a goer I think Lizzy, but are pregnant ladies supposed to eat pate? >

MistressIggi · 30/11/2009 22:50

The prob with pate is the meat aspect, I'm pretty sure, so any veg one should be fine (unless full of blue cheese or similar!)

MistressIggi · 30/11/2009 22:52

Shiney, any soft play near you? Would minimise the danger poss?
If I may (ahem) make a healthy eating related comment - It has now been five weeks since I ate any snacks in the evening. Or a chocolate bar at all. I find spending all night on the internet a wonderful distraction!

bellavita · 30/11/2009 22:56

Shiney, today sounds awfully painful. I would have been stressed to the hills.

YanknCock · 30/11/2009 23:39

My this thread moves fast! I was only gone for the weekend!

I have to confess, I didn't stick to the diet while we were away. However...meals are all planned for next week, groceries arrived tonight, and I'm back on the wagon tomorrow morning. Normally weigh in on a Monday, but today I was 150 miles from home and my scale, enjoying a full English.

Hope you're all well ladies....

BitOfFun · 01/12/2009 00:52

All sounds very familiar, Shiney- welcome to my home life

I must speak to ex-P about who to talk to to get a proper assessment for your friend. Bringing back vivid memories...
