Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Is there a non-chemical way you can get energy TMW? Bouncy happy music?

FlamingoBingo · 07/10/2009 20:15

Oh Vinny - I really, really feel for you. I am dreading my Grandparents getting really, really ill They're in their early eighties but my Grandad is very quickly getting frail now and my Grandma has had a couple of falls that have shaken her and us up. So horrible to see them getting old, isn't it Your poor DS. Give him a hug from me (but don't tell him it's from a random woman off the internet in case he thinks you're nuts!).

Beware - yes, it's me doing painting. I've just done wall 2 coat 2 - will hopefully have time after my helpline shift to do wall 3 coat 1 and wall 2 coat 3, which will put me over half-way through the room

Bella - Scone's for breakfast????????????? Can I come and live with you?

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 07/10/2009 20:17

Vin, your DS is a teen, is he not? He'll know that you are upset too.
Sorry, so for you x

TMW, move away from the red bull.

Bella, I want to move in with you. YOu are so glam with your painted nails. AND you have posh lasagne and scones for breakfast! For shame, mine have got poo crumbs (DS2's name for Shreddies).

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 07/10/2009 20:19

Vin - so sorry for that news.

2lbs off tonight so 11lbs in total and off to a Jamie Oliver party with alcohol.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 07/10/2009 20:19

I have that on Trill, lots of water...oh I should stop grumbling and just get on with it.

I have 'scone for breakfast' too Bella.

Right, I am turning you all off, DD has fallen asleep on the sofa so I need to get her up to bed...

cheers for now.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 07/10/2009 20:34

Aw Vinny

DreamsInBinary · 07/10/2009 20:37

Vinny I'm so sorry.

Mits is right - do remember to be kind to yourself as well.

DreamsInBinary · 07/10/2009 20:42

I suspect that last night was the first of many nights in A&E, if he turns out to be anything like me or DH, so at least I'll know where to go It was fine, actually, because I knew he was OK. If I'd have thought he was seriously ill it would have been hellish.

Got to spend all day with ds (3) whilst dd (1) was at nursery and we had such a fab time. He plays up a lot less if dd isn't around to wind him up or cheer him on.

You can all come and live with me and I will look after you all...

Out of two sets of grandparents, I only have my grandad left - he will be 87 next birthday. He does 1 step forward and about 10 back. He too is and looks frail. I dread the day that anything happens. Again Vinny, I am sorry.

BewareTheFullMoon · 07/10/2009 22:43

Anyone still about?

DreamsInBinary · 07/10/2009 22:47

I think they're all packing their bag, DEM

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 07/10/2009 22:48

I'm here but am going to bed soon.

How's it going beware?

It's been such a quiet night.

VineGruesomeTits · 07/10/2009 22:49

My dad went into to hospital tonight to visit my Nan, he said she was in very high spirits (because she knows she is coming home on Friday) and she had them all laughing because she was trying to get into the bed the wrong end

And when he told her about his little op today (he has had to have a camera down his manhood because he has been having probs with his water works) well she howled with laughter

When they told her she has Leukemia she said 'well it might be a couple more years before i go yet' bless her

She is a legend

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 07/10/2009 22:53

Oh Vinny, that is the thing about the older generation isn't it, they are not pushed over easily Bless her

BewareTheFullMoon · 07/10/2009 22:57

Its going very very slowly. Have only just started to think about the work i nee to submit tom. Its going to be a long one. going in hunt for a coffee in a minute. Not known it to be so quiet here. i dont like it its not really suiting this thread.

To be fair its easier to be in denial about how much longer you have got left when you have had a long life. My nan didnt tell anyone that she has had a stroke and that she is having ti's and likely to have another. She is too stubborn to even admit that she has old age diabetes. So her diet consists of cake. she has always eaten cake and why the hell should she stop now. She just does deal with illness and bad things. Head in sand policy. The only reason we found out was that she is currently in hospital having had another stroke. Which is how we found out about everything else. No one knows when or if she will come out. She is nearly 90. stubborn old toad.

FlamingoBingo · 08/10/2009 08:38

Good morning. I'm in a good mood today so far. I finished wall 2 and have done one coat on wall 3 last night. Probably won't get that one done until Friday night, though, as DH works late on Thursdays (not anymore if he gets this new job though!).

Lovely weather outside - will get some clothes dry and visit Slimbridge I think!

OP posts:
FlamingoBingo · 08/10/2009 08:39

Shiney - How are you today?

Beware - did you get your work done?

OP posts:
TrillianSlasher · 08/10/2009 09:08

Flamingo - is visiting Slimbridge a euphmism?

FlamingoBingo · 08/10/2009 09:14

I wish, Trillian!

No, it's a WWT place not too far from us. Always need to take spare chidlren's clothes though, as they usually get wet when we go.

NormaSknockers · 08/10/2009 09:15

Morning all, just checking in quickly. Haven't had the chance to catch up, had a bit of a scary episode with DS yesterday & have sunk into a bit of a funk so not in the best of moods. Will catch up soon, hope all those who are illing are feeling better!

FlamingoBingo · 08/10/2009 09:25

What happened, Norma?

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 08/10/2009 09:42

vinegar - so sorry to hear about your granny but she sounds amazing!

Flamingo - blimey - you don't waste time do you? That's very impressive.

I'm feeling pretty good today - my SIL is going in to hospital to be induced so I get to meet my little niece today hopefully and I'm bunking off work with DH - have got a babysitter for DD and we are going off to an art show in an hour or so. I know that sounds really spoilt but we never normally do stuff like this so it should be really nice.

After that though I'll be at home which is my diet danger zone - so I'm going to try very hard not to raid the biscuit tin. But I've got everything chopped up and ready to make a lamb shank stew thingy so at least I won't be tempted to order fish and chips

Hope everyone is getting the sunshine too and Shiney is feeling better today?

TrillianSlasher · 08/10/2009 13:21

Busy busy morning. Pasta for lunch.

Anyone alive in here?
