Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Can't stop, I have to find somewhere in the U S of A who can send some flowers or balloons to our friends who live out there (the ones that came over to see us in Vegas). The husband was painting one of the ceilings in the house (they are 25ft high) and he fell off the ladder (a bit like my dad) but has injuries on both sides of his body.

Catch ya later x

NormaSknockers · 10/10/2009 17:27

Hope you manage to find somewhere Bella, hope your friend mkes a speedy recovery!

bellavita · 10/10/2009 17:40

Found somewhere Norma - have done an arrangement with a balloon - a bit more manlike

Am using the slow cooker today and we are having spanish chicken - has olives, chicken (of course) and chorizo in, I would think though it is quite high in fat because of this - but I have skimmed all the excess of the top. I have a tiger loaf in the oven warming up to have with it. Yum.

I feel worn out and tired today - anyone else feel the same?

This thread is too quiet...

daftpunk · 10/10/2009 17:59

hellooooooooooooooo

i am around tonight....kinda

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 10/10/2009 18:05

I am supposed to be getting ready...DS has stormed out of his Dad's and come home, His Dad is highly emotional and somewhat delicate. I have managed to ask a neighbour to have DS, who is not happy and my 'party spirit' is waning a little.

I am going to get in the shower and sing 'head and shoulders, knees and toes....' very very loudly

AAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH! the phone keeps ringing people keep coming to the door and I have no belt in my trousers so they are falling down...trying to write a phone number down at a very jaunty angle whist holding onto my waist band...

BewareTheFullMoon · 10/10/2009 18:11

Hello dp!
Mits have a good night -tis allowed occassionally and you can't cancel every night because ds and his dad fall out. happens. Hoping it is ds who is not happy - he will understand if you explain - he seems like a clever lad. if need be just say he needs to do thing to make him feel better about himself sometimes and so do you. promise to spend time with him when back/ tomo if needed. Now Heads, shoulder knees and toes with you. GO!
Bella - agree this thread is too quiet at the mo. It doesnt seem right and i dont like it but can you think of anyway we can jump start it back into life?

bellavita · 10/10/2009 18:16

Hey dp how ya doin'?

Beware, tbh, I have no idea what we can do. I think that shiney needs to get her lovely backside back on thread (not that I have seen it, just presuming mind you.. and keep us all in check followed closely by Syc. But shiney is illing and Syc is busy with new job and nanny.

I start my days off well then they just go to pot. I wish I had a magic wand and I could wake up a little bit thinner in the morning.

Am sat her now and I can feel a roll of fat coming over the top of my trousers.

MITS - have a good time.

SazZaVoom · 10/10/2009 18:18

I think the lovely weather has kept everyone occupied today. We have been to Westonbirt again today to look at the trees. Collected loads of leaves as we are making leaf bowls soon at toddler group. We have some lime tree leaves, amazing red acer leaves and sweet chestnut leaves

Grapefruit for brekker, pea & ham soup for lunch and a 2hr walk so all good here. Pizza for tea but i have earnt it and Lord Ford all happy

Mits - i hope you get to enjoy your night out

Bella - your tea sounds lovely. I have a great chicken & chorizo recipe which is always hoovered up . Hope your friend is ok BTW

Flamingo - hope you have some va va voom back today, if not have some of mine as my name gives me plenty to share

hellsbelles · 10/10/2009 18:44

SazZa - how do you make leaf bowls. I really must do something at least slightly creative with DS t/m.

Bella you always have the most delicious sounding food

Spent the day worrying that DD was getting poorly - the bloody window in her room somehow opened during the night and when she woke up she was freezing . Terrified now that she will get pneumonia or something. I'm such a Dame Doom...I always worry about something.

There's another fight kicking off on MN - is it always like this?

bellavita · 10/10/2009 19:21

hells - other peoples food always sounds delish though, don't you think?

Have you given dd a warm bath tonight and wrapped her up all nice and snuggly? I am sure she will be ok.

SazZ, sounds like you had a lovely afternoon.

SazZaVoom · 10/10/2009 19:22

Really not sure HellsBells, someone else is leading that one - i am in charge of making pizza's on monday, much more my forte

I think you get a plastic bowl (pref quite flexible such as margarine tub), wipe it with some kind of oil/grease, then layer on the leaves and then cover with flour/water glue. Leave to dry and flex the bowl out. Pretty sure same kind of idea as papier mache but with leaves instead of newspaper. I will report back once we have successfully completed it

bellavita · 10/10/2009 19:22

oh hells, the fighting seems to come in waves if that makes sense?

I am trying to keep out of it >

TheIggorcist · 10/10/2009 19:29

found you! Now got 20 pages of backdated thread to read.. Been sick, DS sick, and DP sick and the whole world feels full of sick. Not better yet, but am at least out of bed and preparing for a night of coughing and trying to complete some of the work I've not done.
Nice to be back, won't mention food as currently MEHE (medically excused from healthy eating).

BewareTheFullMoon · 10/10/2009 19:30

Hells you talking about users? To be fair its not a fight its a revolt against those corrupting mn for their own purpose and not being nice in how they is doing it. HQ on top of that one though and tis dealt with. (or at least it was last i looked) been reading the stupid activities of kids thread and ing.

hellsbelles · 10/10/2009 19:31

Bella - it always does sound better when someone else describes it - you are right! But DH has just gone out to get fish and chips and it should be totally yummy as they use fresh caught stuff....so I've managed to stifle my food envy for now!

Yes - little one is very snuggly tonight - so now of course I'm worried she's too warm

Saza - thanks for that - I shall wait to hear how it goes before I risk it

Can't believe the TV isn't working so no strictly or x-factor....DS is thrilled as we will be forced to play star wars trivial pursuit with him

Have a lovely evening all - and TMW - have a great night out.

BewareTheFullMoon · 10/10/2009 19:31

Iggorcist -just jump in the water is lovely.

TheIggorcist · 10/10/2009 19:37

I hope to god TMW isn't doing the actions to heads&shoulders&knees&toes in the shower. Accident waiting to happen.

daftpunk · 10/10/2009 19:40

daftpunk · 10/10/2009 20:08

ummmm....robbie williams is quite good looking ...never really looked at him properly before

TheIggorcist · 10/10/2009 20:08

DP just brought me bowl of icecream. Surely justified when you have cough. It is cheap vanilla stuff though, so not too chuffed It's his birthday tomorrow, so having lunch out somewhere, friend babysitting. Thinking of proposing to him, actually! Looks funny written down

BewareTheFullMoon · 10/10/2009 20:10

The consensus at the moment is that we are missing your highly witty posting style shiney and syc's words of wisdom, Jet + jaq's motivating successes, BoF's mishcief, and Harley and dp's witty sideline.

Unfortunatlely shiney the orignal thread i believe has been deleted and the second one is an ode to a departed twoll. its done and dusted.

Can you head over to the mad things kids done shiney? would love your input
