Ok, I did it. Guess what my DDs are watching over and over again at the moment?

Anyway, welcome to everyone to our healthy eating thread - trying to lose weight or just to life a healthier lifestyle (and chatting inanely along the way).

Anyone and everyone welcome, just so long as you're nice! We are not a clique and welcome newcomers, so please join us! But beware - this thread moves very fast - just leap right in

Hopefully this one will fill up particularly quickly so we can lose this rather shit title

Hells, no funds/time for an all day spa-athan unfortunately, one day...
Enjoy meeting your new neice

Ouch! Sazzles, all that exercise has paid off, you have a very strong kick missus

Stuck to "the plan" thus far, so should be back on track soon. Want to do a FB and get off what I put on (well done, btw).

Have just taken DS2 for his swimming lesson, I think he has my naturally lazy tendencies, he wouldn't even try and kick his legs. Just lay on his back waving to me. Did a mean jump in at the end though!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/10/2009 14:27

I am going out for a meal tomorrow, with a very good friend....It will be very tempting to get dressed up but it is probably going to be a small restaurant in the village so probabaly shouldn't go OTT.....aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh outfit excitement..so much to wear and only one body!!!

NormaSknockers · 09/10/2009 14:32

No heating on here just yet, trying to avoid it for as long as poss Bless your grandad Shiney he sounds lubbly

TMW sorry about DD, asthma sucks, mine gets worse in the winter too but is much better now as an adult then it was as a kid. Hope it eases a bit for her

Lunch sounds lovely Trills I'm still trying to decide what to have.....

Without wanting to get flamed, I suddenly clicked this morning what previous posts had been about & Shiney you did absolutely the right thing. Makes me so that people lie about such emotive issues.

Lizzy at DS laying on his back & waving at you!

NormaSknockers · 09/10/2009 14:33

Goodness me went a bit smiley mad there!

TrillianSlasher · 09/10/2009 15:19

I am doing things, honest. Making pretty graphs. Lots of them.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/10/2009 16:11

Ooohhh, my friend wants to get 'dressed up'!!

Do you think she would mind if I had several outfits laid out and ran home between each course and got changed? I am only seconds away from the restaurant.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 09/10/2009 16:49

Hiya ladies

It's blowing a gale here today. Have had salad with tomatoes and sliced ham, luvverly. Don't know what to have for dinner yet.

Haven't caught up properly but hope everyone is fine, feeling less ill etc etc.

Am planning on staying on the happy threads tonight....

The guy who cuts our grass just came round and his partner has just had a wee boy, 8lbs called Louie.... He was all proud and emotional about it, had to bite my lip to hold the happy tears in

SpookyAlice · 09/10/2009 17:15

Hello everyone

Sorry i have been so slack about coming on here Have a little black cloud hanging around atm that is making things a little harder than they need to be, hopefully will shift soon.

Sooooo......How are you all?
Shiney - are you still alive?
TMW - I get very excited about going out too, what are you going to wear? It is cold so maybe you could wear a couple at once?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 09/10/2009 17:59

Posted on your thread FB...

Oh spooky, it will probably be a skirt or dress but which one? I am not worried about the cold as it really is about 15 secs walk away.....hmm I have a lovely olive green 'bubble' dress, a bit like this but with little pockets and dungaree type straps that cross over at the back that might look ok with black tights (too short for stockings lol) and I could manage heels for that distance. Probabaly a little t-shirt underneath, fairly simple...

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 09/10/2009 18:17

Oh yes TMW, you must do heels!

SpookyAlice · 09/10/2009 18:33

TMW that dress is stunning! Heels would look good, especially if sparkly
Flamingo, on my way....

TrillianSlasher · 09/10/2009 18:34

Got very very wet on the way home.

Sitting on sofa.

Need to:

TrillianSlasher · 09/10/2009 18:42

I hav uni friends visiting this weekend, which is why I need to do those things.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 09/10/2009 19:20

Baked potato with tuna, onion, peppers and olives for tea. Gin and low calorie tonic.

Trills, I hope you're getting all organised

SIL coming down tomorrow to stay overnight, am excited, she's fab

TrillianSlasher · 09/10/2009 20:05

Cake is in oven, dinner is risotto and is bubbling. That'll do for now. I've also made a list of things I want to buy tomorrow. Going to make leek and potato soup.

SpookyAlice · 09/10/2009 20:43

You all sound so virtuous!

I have been flung from the healthy eating wagon at great speed. This evening i have had:
Half a large bag of kettle chips,
2 very strong G&T's (with lime - 1 of my 5 a day)
hotdogs for dinner with fried onions and yummy homemade warm tomato relish (lots of oil and sugar)
Rather a large enormous glass bottle of red wine

May have some chocolate later too

Will try harder tomorrow.

Seems like everyone is having a great weekend this weekend, i'm very jealous

DreamsInBinary · 09/10/2009 20:52

Have had pasta with cheese and homemade tomato sauce for supper (delish, but dh doesn't like it, so its reserved for nights alone); have a glass of wine in my left hand and the NotOnTheHighStreet.com catalogue in my right.

DreamsInBinary · 09/10/2009 20:54

it's, obv

FlamingoBingo · 09/10/2009 21:39

I got a post deleted, I got a post deleted!!!

Does that mean I'm MN royalty now? Or do I also have to hit the top 10 posters?

OP posts:
DreamsInBinary · 09/10/2009 21:44

I saw

You were right, though

MavisGrind · 09/10/2009 21:46

Hello everyone. Have eaten really badly today - mainly toast, butter and marmite but I'm soooooo tired I cant think what else to have. Never mind, it's half term here now so I just need to persuade dcs to have a lie in every day for the next two weeks fat chance.

I have borrowed a couple of fitness dvds from a friend - Davina Super Body Workout and Kirsty Gallacher Body Sculpt so when I've stopped vomiting at the sleb aspect of it all I'll let you know what they're like. Needless to say this evening myself, Kirsty and Davina have not left the sofa.

Oh and I never get to dress up any more 'tis not fair!

FlamingoBingo · 09/10/2009 21:48

I asked MNHQ why it was deleted - they said it was a personal attack. I have replied with this:

"Sorry, I don't understand how that is a personal attack. She was rude and her post displayed rather a large amount of ignorance - she said seeing a 3yo breastfeeding was gross and put her off breastfeeding. I'm really annoyed about this. I didn't swear. I didn't insult her. There are far, far worse things written on MN that don't get deleted. And why delete the post where I said she was rude and ignorant and not the one where she said the same to me?

Ho hum. Guess I've really arrived now I've had a post deleted, but I'd far rather it was for something more exciting and truly inflammatory than this non-event."

I think the woman is feeling rather defensive. Will probably get flamed and/or deleted for posting this now

OP posts:
DreamsInBinary · 09/10/2009 21:50

I think 'defensive' is prob as flattereing as it gets, FB
