Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

The weather is just rubbish here today - raining and miserable.

I had porridge for breakfast which was yummy, I am determined that I will lose some weight within the next couple of weeks.

Good decision!

FlamingoBingo · 06/10/2009 09:28

I'm fine, thanks, Slimy. After a black dog blip a couple of weeks ago, coinciding with my baby turning one and my fuck-arse father not sending a card (long story, which you all know bits of here and there), the horrid animal has thankfully buggered off for a while and I am now really well .

Excited about our lives hopefully changing fairly dramatically over the next year. DH getting a new job, moving house . Just got to keep motivated!

And we went to a friend's house last night so I didn't get the 2nd coat on the 2nd wall of the living room, which was annoying, and I won't get it done tonight either as DH is at band practice. Ho hum...will try to get it done on Wednesday - DH's day off.

Don't ask me to do it - last time I just copied and pasted the last title and put '2' after it

Nuh-uh, has to have Shiney in the title.

I am in work, having bought a shitload of teabags on the way in.

Sorry for those having children troubles.

Your mum sounds fab Shiney.

daftpunk · 06/10/2009 09:41

knights of the living thread..?

if you want something halloweeny..

would have to add something to it..

hellsbelles · 06/10/2009 09:41

I thought I was just chancing upon a diet thread where chocolate & cake was discussed a lot - but you seem to solve all lives problems in one fell swoop. Can't possibly keep up.

Bella - that book that Flamingo mentioned 'how to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk' is brilliant. I got it recently off Amazon and really enjoyed it. My DC's are still little but I've tried the techniques on my 6 year old and it really is helping.

So - do we do weekly weigh ins? or is that too shaming?

I'm in work today so less chance to eat biscuits. Also finished off the last of the chocolate pudding yesterday so at least I can't be tempted by that.

Hope you are all having better days today!

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 09:42

'Got those weight loss blues? Take 5ml of SHINEY twice a day with a balanced diet' that's about all I can come with

FlamingoBingo · 06/10/2009 09:42

Done

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 09:43

Hells we all weigh in on different day but we do let each other know how our weighs in went, what we lost (or gained) & how fare we've got to go etc

FlamingoBingo · 06/10/2009 09:44

Oh shit, I did what Shiney said and didn't put Shiney in the title Sorry!

Thought I'd start a new trend of the name of whoever starts the thread. Now I feel very narcisstic and embarrassed

Hells - some of us weigh in weekly, some don't. Do what motivates you the best.

NormaSknockers · 06/10/2009 09:44

No-one go anywhere till we fill this thread
