Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

BitOfFun · 02/10/2009 19:59

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

Oh crappola Shiney

You had the courage of your convictions and posted. You never really hid your identity and are not a coward. I hope people can realise that took guts and should not be hounding you off . I will go take a look and add support

Please don't go

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 15:04

Um, do I need to post 'please don't go '? Not really, right? You're not that soft.

bloody hell - found it. Sorry you are going through all this.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 05/10/2009 15:19

And I'm going to get my last post deleted because I don't want to put any risk to our thread - apologies for that but I hope you seen what I said Slimey.

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 15:19

I am hugely impressed you did what you did, for what it's worth.

I would have been sobbing nightly over that bloody thread if it hadn't been flagged.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 15:37

Hmm, of course now it does look a bit like the shiney gang are coming and telling people off.

Must be cos we are the sensible grownup people who are needed to tell people not to get their knickers in a twist

I had a piece of lemon cake. It was nice. The MN lemon drizzle cake recipe does make an enormous cake, doesn't it?

vampyrekisses · 05/10/2009 15:37

whats happening now?

omg im having major nicotine withdrawal

NormaSknockers · 05/10/2009 15:39

Gawd I only went to collect DD from nursery, I see SD is up to her usual tactics!

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 15:43

Shiney, you are cool, you have a gang and everything, think some people are a bit resentful of the "New Order" of MN to be honest.

It's just all got so ridiculous, the same few statements being rehashed 300 times.

You did good fwiw.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 16:02

Shiney, please don't beat yourself up over what you did.

I am of the gullible set and it never used to dawn on me that people would 'troll'' over such emotional issues. Whatever their reasons, mental health, simple attention seeking or fraudulant, it has an edge of unbearable cruelty that people get drawn in and emotionally involved, let alone 'conned' of a financial or otherwise.
If no-one drew attention to it, someone would turn around at the end of the day and ask why someone didn't warn us.

Someone said on my thread that if something bothers me, it bothers me for a reason, and if a thread such as this bothered you enough to have suspicions, there was a reason behind it..

People who are likeminded who come together on threads like this will always seem gang like and cliquey to a certain extent but I certainly wouldn't agree with you 'just because' we share time and common thoughts enough to be on the same thread. The gang accusation was juvenile and pointless, as was accusing you of cowardice, I think you are one of the least cowardly people on MN.

That is my opinion FWIW..

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 16:03

Had some raisins and dried fruit. Resisting the chocolate. Talking about healthy eating here remember?

Going ot get another glass of water.

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 16:06

True TMW, I have stopped myself from posting on that thread all day.
Can hardly do it now as it would look like Gang mentality
You were measured and tactful, Shiney, some people have been like a dog with a bone and literally posted on that thread all day, both sides of the argument.
It is just not going anywhere now.

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 16:06

I had a yog for breakfast (not so good - I suspect it may have been out of date ) and salad for lunch. Couldn't resist a small wholemeal roll with it, but that's still far better than my now-usual cereal+toast+doughnut+burger/curry+chocolate+latte etc etc.

Am feeling virtuous but famished

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 16:07

Any chance of your fab recipes, Sazzles? Please?? I always find them very inspiring

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 16:08

ON a lighter note,
My 3.5yr old DS2 has stripped himself of all clothes and smothered himself in Chocolate (special thanks to my Mom for giving them chocolate!).

Was thinking it could be a new diet tip? If you're wearing it you can't eat it

NormaSknockers · 05/10/2009 16:09

Someone TELL me what to cook my chicken drumsticks for dinner because at the moment it's going to be chips (homemade) & not sure I can resist them....

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 05/10/2009 16:10

Lizzy.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 16:13

If you do potatoe wedges with absolute minimal oil that'll be tasty and chip-like but healthy.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 16:13

Send it in for tip of the day Lizzy!

No idea why my potato wedges have an extra e

NormaSknockers · 05/10/2009 16:18

What's the best way to cook them Trills? I have the choice of chip pan, wok, oven or micro?

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 16:18

I do potato wedges with Frylight, still in their skins, they're still yummy.

I am not going to tell you where DS2 is rubbing chocolate now.....that boy is obsessed.

Off to hunt for baby wipes
