Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

Helloooooo. Good to see Syc back. Good luck with the new job though pants you can't post (i'm jealous at your mac though).

Slimey - just read your pink champagne post and made me a lot. You must live near me.

I didn't post for a few days and I started eating lots of crap. Weight still similar. I ran 2.5k today, so I'm half way there to do my 5k in the spring.

In other news... I went for an interview on Friday and I'm seriously considering chucking in my business and going back to an office. I'm excited and terrified in equal measures.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 14:18

I am the other way round Lenin, I do swear in RL but not much, however my language on here and when I am texting is perhaps a little more colourful than it should be.

I am Mits and I have a limitted edition Mars Bar in my handbag.................................................................................

hellsbelles · 05/10/2009 14:20

drinking tea too and wishing DD would sleep to allow me to get on with MNing clearing up.

In an attempt to exercise - I did turn on a really cheesy radio station today and dance round like a teenager which caused great merriment from DD but I was out of breath after just a few minutes - shocked at my levels of unfitness (is there such a word?)

Shiney - hope you mend very soon. Sounds really miserable.

NormaSknockers · 05/10/2009 14:23

Well done vaca that's brill

DS finally awake, just in time too as my arm was going dead!

Syyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyc - how the heck are you?

vacaloca · 05/10/2009 14:23

You still illing Shiney? I hope the abs will sort it out pdq. It's been a while.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 14:29

I walked with DS to an appointment the other day and DS had his earphones in and I could clearly hear his music, and started dancing quite enthusiastically to what I could hear...completely forgetting for a moment that we were standing at a crossing at which there was traffic lined up...

vacaloca · 05/10/2009 14:33

Oh, I did my Urban Groovz (yes, really) class the other day. It wasn't too bad actually. I had a good sweat by the end and didn't even realise I was doing exercise. I was concentrating so much on following the moves and doing my 'Am I bovvered?' pose while crossing my arms and sticking a hip out. All part of routine, you understand. Tres embarrassing but still quite enjoyable.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 14:33

Oooh, what s your business Vac and what would you do instead?

daftpunk · 05/10/2009 14:34

i'm the same as you TMW...never swear in RL...(well, hardly ever)...i swear alot in my head...why it come out on here sometimes..

lol LG...something about the written word...?

er, correct me if i'm wrong...but arn't you the founder of the "wankers" thread...

I rent holiday cottages and would be going back to publishing instead. Have been running my business for 5 years now. I feel really sad to just end it as it's working quite well but I just find it really lonely (hence why I come here so often) and really miss working in an office with other people. Sad, I know.

Yeah.....what are you going to do vaca?

The dance class sounds like fun.

I love lurking on the wankers thread....but have never dipped in.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 14:38

My office is much swearier than the lab used to be - I need to practice.

My old boss was a man who would go all pink if he said 'boobies', like a litle schoolboy. My new boss says 'fuck' quite casually.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 14:41

I know what you mean Vaca, I work from home alona and although I quite like it think I would benefit from more social interaction..it doesn't do my social anxieties any good..

Right I am afraid I am going to soon be Mits WITHOUT a limitted edition mars bar in her handbag... I have to eat it because my lovely DS bought it for me.

SpookyAlice · 05/10/2009 14:55

Ooh, TMW are they the dark chocolate ones with the white centres? (not that i would know or anything......)

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 14:55

Laughing at Spooky and Norma on the other thread....

hellsbelles · 05/10/2009 14:56

Vaca - I have to admit though I resisted going back to work - I am really enjoying the two days I am in the office. Good luck with the job - when do you hear back from them?

Which thread is all this happening on?

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 14:59

How lovely for you Shiney.

Good luck to anyone who wants to read 900 posts of bowek movements and eating-cheese-behind-our-own-backs
