Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

Norma, I do mine in the oven.

TrillianSlasher · 05/10/2009 16:20

Oven-baked, definitely. Yum.

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 16:22

Cook them in a kind of provencal sauce - brown onion & garlic, add a bit of flour, add tom puree, add browned chicken, add stock and wine, cook for an hour. No idea of the calories but is very easy; far nicer than it sounds and you can eat it with a small portion of rice.

Alternatively, roasted butternut squash.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 05/10/2009 16:23

Oh and do fat wedges so that overall there is less surface area to be in contact with the oil...[anorak emoticon]

StrictlySazz · 05/10/2009 16:26

DIB - what type of thing do you fancy/waht main ingredients do you have? I will look up a link for the recipe thread in a mo as most of mine that had been on here went on there. Just doing DD's tea.......

DreamsInBinary · 05/10/2009 16:40

Sorry Sazz - forgot you linked them

NormaSknockers · 05/10/2009 16:59

Plan's changed completely as DD saw getting the spuds out & asked for mash so doing that with roasted veg!

You've done nothing wrong, Shiney but that whole thread now is so blody irritating.
Some people seem to bloody thrive on this type of thing and delight in going round in circles.

daftpunk · 05/10/2009 18:08

i really don't get the fuss about trolls....

you invest a bit too much of your time on someone that was faking it.... so what..?......you'll live...

not alot MNHQ can do in these situations really....plus people never learn...someone else will come along in a few months with a sob story and half of MN will fall for it..

Salsavita · 05/10/2009 18:11

That site stuff thread takes some reading. I would have done the same. They are just I was about to say going round in circles, but realised Lizzy had said the same thing >

shineon....

was that a friend of yours....?

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 18:20

Right Back Atcha Salsa

I reported it to MN (and I know others did too), mainly because it was making me want to eat my own arm, so irritating.

Shine, did yousee that Dee understood why you'd posted and why you'd namechanged in the original thread? It is her and Shabs who are most affected and if they understand, well, you get my drift.

Am so bunged up at the moment, my nose looks like Rudolf's, so am going to have a Christmas name, will skip Halloween.

Lizzylou · 05/10/2009 18:26

DH has just called, the opening of the new London office went well, everyone's computers worked so he is v pleased.
So pleased he is on his 5th glass of champagne He will be in bed by 8pm, he is a Bitter drinker normally!
And here I am with feral naked boy and DS1 who is doing anything not to do his reading
