Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

BitOfFun · 02/10/2009 19:59

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

I'm on. Don't know anything about gluey children though.

SqueezyCheese · 04/10/2009 15:49

Beware - sorry, what's your other name? (if that is an ok question to ask) I know you're familiar but my memory is rubbish at keeping up

TrillianSlasher · 04/10/2009 15:50

Beware is DEM.

SqueezyCheese · 04/10/2009 15:51

Ah, it is clear now Thanks Trills!

daftpunk · 04/10/2009 15:53

SC; i can only handle one heavy(ish) thread a week.....i'm pretty predictable re; what threads i show up on...i really don't post that much though ..

have you always been SC...?

TrillianSlasher · 04/10/2009 15:54

No, SC had to change to avoid possible stalking (there was a link to her real name somewhere and family issues I believe). She was a sacred avocado dip.

SqueezyCheese · 04/10/2009 15:56

Nah, I used to be H o l y G u a c a m o l e

(sorry, am trying to be a bit anonymous about my old name)

daftpunk · 04/10/2009 16:00

on right..wow, MN really is full of intrigue and mystery isn't it..

BewareTheFullMoon · 04/10/2009 16:04

Trill have sent message but your safe ds had to has his chin glued back together so the question isnt about that. Although i would love to know why it split on impact with floor. Stupid fool thought it was a good idea to possible the bed ladder steps. So of course when he climbed up them in socks and he forgot to hold on he fell off. boys.

BewareTheFullMoon · 04/10/2009 16:09

Thanks trill. Sorry fb is playing up at mo so took a while to get there.

VineGruesomeTits · 04/10/2009 16:50

Ds2 has just knocked my precious (macbook) on the floor

Just checking it still works

FlamingoBingo · 04/10/2009 16:54
BiteOfFun · 04/10/2009 16:54

VineGruesomeTits · 04/10/2009 17:01

Its seems fine thank god, saw its life flash before my eyes for a minute there

ds2 is asleep bless him, time for me to have a snooze me thinks (get one in while i can )

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 04/10/2009 17:05

I want to sleep.

Oh good news, managed to get a pair of winter trousers on today, no lying on the ground to wrestle the zip up or do up the buttons.

DreamsInBinary · 04/10/2009 17:14

Oh well done Fanny.

DEM, it's not your week is it Gin, gin and more gin.

NormaSknockers · 04/10/2009 17:21

Afternoon all,

Everyone well?

Just got back from a 1st birthday party & I as very restraied, had cucumber, peppers & a few small breadsticks & a very, very small almost non exsistant piece of birthday cake

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 04/10/2009 17:23

Well done Norma, I am most impressed.

hellsbelles · 04/10/2009 17:31

FlamingoBingo you were right - I felt the whole day feeling shite and it only made me want to eat more. I actually bumped into our new neighbours and I could see that they thought I was a right old mess. Also DH has been looking at me oddly - but he's too polite scared to say anything. I'm going back to normal dressing t/m

Norma well done - that shows a will of iron!

shiney - I know you are poorly now so exercise is the last thing on your mind but have you tried pilates for your pelvic floor? I know it's terribly poncy but I had to start it after my back got messed up from 4 months of strict bedrest....and not only did it sort out my back - but another effect was I stopped wetting myself everytime I moved too quickly - it really didn't take long to sort it out.

Salsavita · 04/10/2009 17:37

Hi

Have skimmed though, why does everything happen when I am not here

Have had a lovely time out today.

FlamingoBingo · 04/10/2009 17:38

I need to do a THIRD coat!!!!!!!!!!!

FFS! Stupid horrid brown paint that the stupid owners before us had on the walls

I'm only bloody painting it to sell it - I'm not even going to get the benefit of all my hard work...well, we'll get more money hopefully, but won't actually get to look at my handiwork

However, that does mean I can ignore the skirting boards which will be hidden by our sofa when we have viewers [evil grin].

Salsavita · 04/10/2009 17:42

Norma - well done.

I turned down dessert today (only cos I didn't want to break into another £10 note)

Shiney - have fb you.

Lizzylou · 04/10/2009 17:43

Hi all

Well done Norma!

FB, how is your DH?

Have been on MN off and on today, had time to read but not post (blooming kids).

Not a great day food wise, but Mom has gone and DS1 has his new trainers so all good. Watching 5 yr olds play football first thing on a sunday is notvery entertaining so glad it's normally DH's job!

CM just rang to say she's hurt leg so no work for me tomorrow.

NormaSknockers · 04/10/2009 17:54

Thank you, feeling quite pleased with myself Cibatta with roasted veg for dinner tonight!

Sala sounds like something I'd do, I hate breaking into notes!!

Flamingo, brown is a right PITA to paint over isn't it
