Welcome to what may be our 21st Healthy Eating thread!

We take it with varying levels of seriousness- in fact we are a pretty light-hearted bunch generally, but we do support each other, whether we are trying to lose a little (or a lot of) weight, or just get fitter.

Shiney is our Glorious Leader , ably backed up by the ass-kicking Sycamoretree and many other lovely regulars.

Come and join us- post as much as you can and join in the fun, nay, the phenomenon that is the Shiney thread

OP posts:

What, a non-Shiney-started thread?

Hope you all had fun last night. I was out drinking. Will read through and catch up.

NormaSknockers · 26/09/2009 11:26

Urgh at the gag inducing house!

Lizzylou · 26/09/2009 11:27

Bloody hell Norma!
What is someone doing allowing/encouraging their 10 yr old to act like that?
You keep going with your running, don't let twats like that put you off.

NormaSknockers · 26/09/2009 11:29

I was shocked that the dad (had to be a dad, surely no mum would allow that to happe?) let him do it, he carried on all down the road til they were out if sight

I have to say running as introduced me to an a whole new world of people - and not in a good way

How far do you tend to run Lizzy?

Lizzylou · 26/09/2009 11:34

2 weeks ago it was 5km, I will have to get back into it, because we live at the bottom of a big steep hill it is very easy to not do it!
I have done a 10km 18mths ago, but am nowhere near as fit as I was then. Think I should sign up for it again for next May and then I'll get my ass in gear.
I hate it when people say "I saw you running, nearly gave you a lift, you looked knackered". Makes me feel v self-conscious.

How far are you up to now Norma? I found once you could run for 20/25mins at a time you break something, some psychological barrier and then you can go further. It is getting yourself going in the first instance thats the hard part!

TrillianAstra · 26/09/2009 11:50

BoF glad you found your DD safely (shame about the bites/scratches, but you'd probably feel wose if they were on her rather than on you, weird as that is).

NormaSknockers · 26/09/2009 11:54

Wow go you, that's really fab! I should be able to run 5K straight in another 5 weeks but I'm not convinced I've just finished week 4 which was 3 mins, 5 mins, then 3 mins, then 5 mins of running - I have no idea how I did it without killing myself but somehow I did & actually got much further today then I ever have before No idea how many K's though!

I just cannot imagine being able to run 5K without stopping at the moment, it seems to such an unchieveable goal for me right now

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 26/09/2009 11:54

I had my boobs reduced so they are larry lightweights compared to what they were and not worth weighing.

TrillianAstra · 26/09/2009 12:22

Does anyone on here want to use Ocado and want to recommend it to me (ther's a recommend a friend button) so I get discounts? You get a discount after I've used it 3 times.

Thought I would give you guys first shout.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 26/09/2009 13:23

at weighing boobage weight!! Mine are about the weight of a rice-cracker, but generally I am OK with that. I get back problems which increased when I put weight on after DC's so am quite happy with my 'small but perfectly formed chapesses'

I was sorry about your DD BoF, but by the time I get down to writing a message I can only remember one thing from whatever I have read....(Did you know I wasn't feeling very well?!) It is the sickest feeling in the world though. Glad she was OK..

Salsavita · 26/09/2009 14:08

lol at "boobage" weighing VT

Norma - how horrible for. How dare someone let their child shout things like that?

Lizzy - how is work going.. have you got a mag or a book to read?

Where is that shiney... Oh, yes, that's right, she is off eating mushroom ravioli at Pizza Express!

Going to make some jam this afternoon. I have been sat in the garden for half an hour recovering from trudging around the Food Festival in York. I bought myself a new lippy and blusher and bagged myself some free gifts at the Lancome counter too

DidEinsteinsMum · 26/09/2009 15:27

Today is a yuck day.

how's everyone's weekend so far?

Lizzylou · 26/09/2009 15:36

Norma, if anyone would have told me I could run 5km before I started running I would have guffawed (so would my old PE teacher ). It is so much about mind over matter as well, once you can do 10mins, you'll quickly get to 20mins and then it's only a bit more to do 5km, honestly! Once you can do 5km you can go as far as your legs will take you. I really must go running now, giving you a pep talk when I haven't been for 2 weeks

Salsa, it has been quite busy here, everyone's buying houses in East Lancs it would seem. Have also been watching the fish and baby turtle, who is so cute, working on DH to let us have one. Ooh, nice new make up, lucky you.

DEM, hope you feel better chuck, have a snuggle up and some tea.

Only 20mins to go and then I can go home and weigh me tits!
Or just have some food

wastingaway · 26/09/2009 15:59

Oh Jet, what a rotter!

Well done Flamingo, you're doing great. I can't remember what everyone is doing, are you doing Food Focus?

Norma, I'm constantly at what seemingly normal people are capable of. Hope it doesn't put you off the running.

Well, I have lost a pound this week, not bad considering I lost the plot a bit towards the end of the week.

Had a walk into town, 40 mins total, and got some good swag from Boots while I was there. I'm working on my hair, Curly Girl method, but the rest of me needs some urgent attention.

Off out for another quick walk in a mo.

TrillianAstra · 26/09/2009 16:23

Been doing housework adn stuff today, not massively fun. I bought a new dress from Dorothy Perkins if you want to see www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId= 20552&storeId=12552&categoryId=166055&parentcategoryrn=49448&productId=1355761&langId=-1here.

I've just bought a new giant thing of treseme conditioner, if it has silicones in it I don't care. Maybe when I finish it I'll look into getting stuff that complies with the method.

TrillianAstra · 26/09/2009 16:27

Whoops just seen I missed a space here

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 26/09/2009 16:29

Managed to prove DH wrong again and put together a lovely chest of drawers for DD's new room.

Off out in a bit to supper with DB, his DP and my nephews so looking forward to that. They live in the middle of woods and is great fun.

StrictlySazz · 26/09/2009 16:32

Afternoon, all, just hopping onto the new thread as it whizzes by . Lovely thread by the way TIT BoF

Had a fabulous afternoon yesterday lunch with the girls shopping at Primark Reiss, Harvey Nicks and the like. Managed to consume embarrassing amounts of champagne, wine, beer (classy mix eh?), smoked salmon, bread, mussels in cream and wine sauce with chips, curry, rice and poppadoms

Back wagonning today so should be back on track for Fri weigh in

Hello newbies and oldies, illing people and non sleepers alike. A great company of misfits women [smiles}.

Well done Jet on the loss and Flamingo too (and any others i missed ). Sorry your ex is being an arse Jet - really unfair on the littlies

I may be off again soon until tomorrow as we have our weekly Strictly get together tonight and i fear i may appear rude tap tappity tapping in the corner

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 26/09/2009 16:33

That's a nice dress. Didn't realise they did clothes up to 22. Will have to peruse their website.

Salsavita · 26/09/2009 16:48

Trillian, I like the dress - will it be knee length on you? Will you wear heels with it or tights and boots?

Five - go you with the DIY

Helloooo shiney - glad you had a good day.
